Long Game 90: Undiluted Powers
Throw TheLiving Silverware replied to Araris Valerian's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Here are some reads, to answer Illwei's question: Village: Xino, Conquestor, DevotArcher Elim: Bookwyrm, Cinnamon, and (much, much less sure about that one) Mat Honestly, Bookwyrm's and Wizard's interaction in D2 felt genuine to me when I first read it, but the more I think, the more I think it was staged. Especially knowing Wizard was spiked. Bookwyrm- 788 replies

Fortunately, the child was adopted by kind parents. -
Apart from Cosmere? Well, the list includes (but is not restricted to) -Realm of the Elderlings by Robin Hobb (all the series). -Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan -Discworld by Terry Pratchett (that's what my profile pic is referencing, btw) -Dune and Dune Messiah by Frank Herbert (I like the two combined more than any of them separately, if that makes sense.) -Earthsea by Ursula Le Guin, which I feel obligated to fourth or fifth, I lost track -Northern Lights by Philip Pullman (the sequels are good too, but not on the same level) -Broken Earth Trilogy by NK Jemisin -Bicentennial Man by Isaac Asimov And I'm going to end with an obscure book I don't think anyone ever heard about here: Lord of the Rings by JRR Tolkien.

The Inheritance Cycle Discussion
Throw TheLiving Silverware replied to 2EmLee2's topic in Entertainment Discussion
Me and Inheritance is a complicated story. I first read the series several years ago, and as for Robin, it was the series that really pulled me in epic fantasy, even though I had read other series like LOTR before. I remember reading the last book in one day when I got it - that might still be my reading speed record. I read Tales of Alagaesia as soon as I could after the release. But over the years, as I read other series, I began to see more and more the problems, most notably how much Paolini took from other authors like Tolkien. (This is not a shot at Paolini; he wrote and published at 18 a better book than some from more experienced and older authors). I have wanted to read it again for quite a while, but at the same time, I am afraid of not liking it this time around. So... I don't know my current mind on the series. You are right 2EmLee2 when you say the series is controversial. It is controversial even within myself Oh, and... uh yeah. The movie. I will say nothing on it, except that since I watched it, I check on the internet ratings for books and movies before reading/watching them. And by the way, did anyone read CP's latest book To Sleep In A Sea Of Stars? (Which I might like more than any Inheritance book btw)- 18 replies

I read that as "TPBM is actually a bird" and was extremely confused for a second And to answer the question... Past midnight, don't feed let me out of my bed. Or I'll turn into a zombie. TPBM has assigned in their head a gender to another Sharder, completely arbitrarily, and then discovered they had gotten it wrong but still sees them as the "wrong" gender. -

Long Game 90: Undiluted Powers
Throw TheLiving Silverware replied to Araris Valerian's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Sorry I haven't had time to come last night, I have things that are going to last a few days at least. Don't expect high activity from me for this game The Mat vote D1 was indeed mostly a joke, and I did not expected it to last long. But when I could finally come back I was still in the dark so I didn’t vote for anyone in the end Some thoughts: I have good vibes about Shining Silhouette; the very end of D1 screams "I have no idea what to do" which feels more village imo Wizard defending Bookwyrm mid-D1, then voting him now, then unvoting him, also makes me think Wizard and Bookwyrm are not both elims. The absence of reaction by other players when Xino got nearly killed makes me lean village on them. I have a slight elim lean on Stick; they voted several times in a row with no reason given. While I can understand (kinda) where the vote on me is coming from, I don’t see why would you vote Mat. So I'm gonna vote Stick for now, and I'd appreciate some info on the why of your vote. Pretty much everyone else reads null for now.- 788 replies

Granted. You are now the best author in the universe. However, you can only write (or type) in a secret language no one knows, not even you, so you have no idea what you are writing about. I wish to be a bronze Feruchemist. (The ones who store wakefulness) -

Well I am completely lost. I have a handful of slight village learns, but nothing solid so far. Gonna take my vote off Mat, but I don't see anyone to give it instead so I'm just gonna leave it in the air for now.- 788 replies

Felix was walking down the streets, looking out for people acting like he thought a spiked would. Of course, he had no idea how would a spiked act, so that made things a bit difficult. The street was a lot more quiet than usual. People were afraid. Those he could see were acting oddly: staying in the lights, standing as far as possible from anyone else... That was disturbing to Felix. A few more days like this, and we'll all be persuaded everyone else is spiked. Me included. And when that will happen, good luck for keeping things in order. Especially with so much guards quelling that rebellion in the south. He bought some food and came back to the caravan. "Here's the dinner, Jules." Jules smiled. He was one of the drivers of the caravan. Even given the chance, he wouldn't hurt a fly. If Felix was sure of anyone these days, it was Jules. "Have you heard that? Someone said they would let us go tomorrow!" "If you were to believe everything people say, everyone in this town is spiked, from Lord Penrod to your horses." replied Felix. They both bursted in laughter. *** Mat. Because accusing people before they have even posted a message is something only a bad guy would do- 788 replies

So that's why someone came to take all the chairs on the classroom today! I do not thank you, sitting on the tables was rather uncomfortable (and we broke most of them) -

Probably. TPBM has already realized they had just boarded the wrong subway, tramway, bus, or other public transport. (I have, literally while typing this message. Because I was typing this message, actually.) -
