I know I said I’d wait until the end of the summer, but I’ve changed my mind.
This week, I’ve stayed off the shard to focus myself on FSY and being reverent. And I’ve noticed… I don’t really miss the shard. I love all of y’all… but you don’t really need me. Nothing on here really makes me happy like I thought it would.
Everybody, thanks for being such a good group and having my back when I needed it. Goodbye.- Show previous comments 10 more

Did you know that the word "goodbye" is a shortening of the phrase "God be with ye"?
Goodbye! We'll miss you.

So long! Good luck out there!

Today a friend told me he can't talk to cute girls because he's too nervous.
To all you guys out there: um... it doesn't matter what the context is- don't say that.

Ahhh
That makes sense.
I'll start saying it to girls I don't like.
-
I only hit girls with that when I say something that makes so sense, then I just say "clearly I don't know how to talk to beautiful girls." It's actually a professional strategy when you do it like that.
-
As a bonus, then they don't even remember that you just said something that makes no sense!

Summer math class, here I come!
SpoilerI wanted to do summer english too, but I'll be out of town too much to complete more than one class...
And I hate English as a class so I don't want to do it any more than I have to.
-
Why does it feel like it could be a lie
Why does it feel like I could pass her on the street and she'd explain how it was all a misunderstanding
Why does it still hurt when it doesn't feel real
Why doesn't anything make sense
After this summer, I'll be leaving the shard indefinitely.

I understand. That's the almost the exact same reason I left MC roleplaying. I get it.
It's good to do something for your mental health. It's a big step, especially when the thing itself isn't actually bad, and the people are awesome.
I'm sad to see you go (even if it's at the end of the summer and not now), but I understand completely.

Makes a lot of sense
I'll probably step back more after my mission. Because I'll need to.

oh no

By golly, I do believe this trombone player has fainted. Do you see flute players fainting like this? No.
I love how his band mates just keep playing. That's real professionalism there.

flute player here, i did *almost* faint while i was on this workshop day thingy, because we were playing this really weird contemporary piece where i had to make windy/rainy sounds on the flute. i rolled out my headjoint really really far, so i wasn’t making a sound, and proceeded to play continuous high C’s for about fifteen minutes.
flute players in bands never ever faint though. think of the damage to the keywork if you fell on top of it! *flautist cringing*

Hehe, I'm a Drum Major now.
If I faint, everyone sees me.

Would anyone be interested in a roleplay that includes that magic system I was test running earlier?
There would be other plot elements, of course, but I'm open to suggestions.
It would definitely be more chaotic, although not as chaotic as the clinic.

I'll post the thread tomorrow. Gotta smooth down the last few worldbuilding things.

I TOTALLY WILL JOIN THIS OMG!!!!!
lemme know when it's posted <33
-
I’d like to join please, I think.
-
So, I guess I've been misusing a few slang words or something?
If you've had any weird (as in the confusing weird not the fun weird) interactions with me, that's probably why. Sorry?
On another note, if I haven't said it before, Jukebox the Ghost is a great band. Go listen to their stuff. (Go, Piano!)

I tried... drawing things. Characters from one of my favorite anime, Yugioh Arc-V. I'm not super good at poses and angles yet, so bear with me.
SpoilerThe third one isn't as good as the first two... I think I messed up the face somehow.
-
Alright guys. I have a mission for you.
First, go watch Tron: Uprising. Yes, it's on Disney Plus among other places. No, they never completed the series. (It's only like a five hour commitment- they didn't make very many episodes.)
Second, go listen to Muse's album, Simulation Theory.
Finally, agree with me that someone needs to finish this wonderful series and Muse should do the music.
-
Just watched the new spider man movie. For once, a movie has exceeded the hype. I can now die happy.
(Spoilers?)
SpoilerWell, happy once the next one comes out.

Hey guys! I'm testing out a magic system I've been designing, and I need your help!
Use a random number generator to generate seven different numbers, from 1 to 49. Depending on what numbers you have, you get different powers.
(The system is supposed to use a deck of cards, but I couldn't easily find a customizable online card site...)

Lol sorry, but I’m actually still smoothing out the list. Some of the skills seem a little OP or irrelevant. Give me a few days to iron out the little details, and then I’ll post it in another SU.

Finally, at long last, girls camp is over. (Thanks for the 48 notifs, guys
)
I don't want to be a downer, so I'll spare you why I hated camp so much. Let's just say that I will not be going again, even under threat of death (or at least getting my books and phone taken away).
A bit of happy news- my cornflowers are blooming! This year I've bred some really cool hybrids that are light blue and white with pinkish middles and special extra-petal mutations. I also have red and black ones! (hoping the bunnies don't eat those
) I'll post some pics later.
-
I'm sorry that it ended up being a bad experience. If you ever want to rant about it, I'm always available to talk to.
Flowers are nice!

Aw, I’m really sorry that girl’s camp was rough. If you ever want to talk about it I’ll be here
-
I'm sorry you didn't have fun at girls camp. I will just say that next year will be just with our wards and for the rest of your girls camp days you will be a YCL so if you do decide to come again you get to have input into what happens and can help make changes.
But flowers!!!!! I want to see!!!! I'm excited for your pictures!!!

I’m rewatching those old DC kiddie cartoons. This is what happens when I have important things to do but I’m waiting for my banana bread to bake.

Have you ever had a dream that was so incredibly awesome you just wanted to write it down and turn it into a story? But then you don't because you know it wouldn't work out? And then you spend the rest of the day in a daze because you can't stop thinking about it?

Well, school's out.
My band posted the music they'll be playing next year. Without me. It looks pretty awesome. One of the songs is an arrangement of The Sound of Silence, one of my favorite songs of all time. I'm really disappointed that I don't ever get to play with them again.
-
Awh, Ranryu, We're gonna miss you at school (even though I'm not in band-), and even though I don't want you to leave us, I'm sure you're gonna have so much fun at this new school.
I hope you make tons of friends (just none that are cooler than us /hj)! You're gonna do great <3
As for The Sound of Silence piece... I LOVE that song!! Simon and Garfunkel are one of my favorite oldies groups to listen to, and I actually have one of their CDs with that song on it (I'll even let you borrow it, if you'd like!
). I listen to it practically every single day lol
You got this, Ranryu! <3

Guyyyyyysssss. Guess who I’m sitting next to right now. Here’s a little message from her:
“I miss you all like birds like watching explosions! If they liked watching explosions cuz I have no idea! Stay away from red toothbrushes. They will, if they get the chance, turn you into a communist ninja with leaves for hands and, as we all know, that’s not fun! Anyway hi!
”
thank you and goodnight!

How much was I discussed?
SpoilerI get very interested when I realize I might have been talked about while I wasn't there.
SpoilerThen again I think so does everybody.

Yeah, I always want to know what people say. That may have to do with the nagging fear that everyone is just pretending to like me to be nice, though

After finals next week, I will never return to this school.
It kinda feels weird. I came in knowing that I'd only have a year here, but I guess it didn't really sink in until recently. The school I'm at right now is pretty old. It has years of history, tradition, and culture.
The next place I'm going to will be brand new. I will literally be in the first ever graduating class. I'm excited, but also a little anxious. With my year only being 26 people strong, it could either be really awesome or really terrible. Either way, it's not gonna be the normal experience. It's never the normal experience.
SpoilerIf I don't like it I'm gonna drop out and do homeschool again. I'm only going part time anyway.
Oh and also that poem I shared with y'all a while back got into my school's lit mag. I'm happy with the art they paired it with.

I relate to this so much. I don’t think I stayed in a single school for more than 2 years in a row. Always change. What I’m trying to say is nervousness and anxiousness are normal, and everyone else in your next years class is probably feeling at least a little bit of the same. You got this!!

Guys.
I keep finding more underrated early 2000's tv shows. The ones with ten year old boys as the target audience.
Why are they so amazing. Especially the Canadian ones. Seriously, I have like five ten year old boy early 2000's cartoons from Canada that I absolutely love.
Is this what addiction feels like?

Okay okay okay. Let's talk about peat bogs. If you don't know what the heck I'm talking about, then hold on tight. We're gonna go on a little ride.
First of all, what is a peat bog? A peat bog is a type of wetland that accumulates peat (a buildup of partially decayed plant matter- often moss). Peat bogs are found in cool northern climates (a famous example is ireland). About 12,000 years ago, glaciers from the most recent ice age retreated, leaving poorly draining lakes behind. Over time, plant matter built up inside these lakes, becoming peat. Other names for peat bogs include mire, mosses, quagmire, and muskeg.
SpoilerWhy are peat bogs important? Peat (dried peat) is a valuable form of fuel that has been harvested for thousands of years. Peat is also used as a soil additive. Beyond that, peat bogs play a vital role in the environment. Peat moss improves the soil's ability to absorb water, and peat holds more carbon than the combined forests of Britain, France and Germany. Plus, if you like animals, peat bogs provide shelter to some really cool endangered ones.
SpoilerAnother really interesting thing about peat bogs is that they are excellent at preserving deceased life forms. Hopefully some of you have heard of the famous "bog bodies" that are often found in peat bogs. Sometimes more than ten thousand years old, these bog bodies give us interesting insight on how things used to be.
(Warning, mildly scary image below)
SpoilerThis is the Tollund man, found in 1950. It is believed that he was sacrificed in some kind of fertility ritual about twenty five thousand years ago. His body is incredibly well preserved-- even his internal organs!
Clearly, there's a lot more to learn about peat bogs. Go look them up, they're really cool!
