Quest shot a glance at Kealie. He turned to Vance, holding up papers. "If you want to help us translate these, it's fascinating stuff." He sat up and walked over to Kealie. "Umm, Kealie? What do you want to do?" @Ookla the BlowUpperOfStuff

"Yeah! That is what we are going for at least. We only have a few connecting runes, some modifiers and the runes for fire and force. Right now I'm figuring out a wall of force, which should speed things up."

Quest laughed at Antin. "No, healing myself is just taxing. I can deal with a few aches and bruises."

"No, no. It's fine. I don't need healing." Quest stood up, brushing off his pants. "Just a little fall there." Hyron stepped forward and caught Miyako, gently lowering her to the ground, holding her in their lap. They smiled, not caring that their arms would be covered in blood, and brushed Miyako's hair out of her face. "Well," They whispered, "I'm glad it went that way." Hyron took a deep breath, and just held Miyako. Edited 1 hour ago by Ookla the Crow

Quest sat up groaning. He smiled at Antin through the pain. He let out a short laugh. "I guess that's the rune for force." Quest shakily got to his feet. Miyako looked at Hyron and Yerik. Her Shadow wanted her move, to kill. To run away from all that could bring her back. But Miyako didn't. She looked in Hyron's eyes, seeing the determination in there eyes, the determination for her. Suddenly it didn't feel so easy. It was Miyako against her Shadow. When did Miyako start fighting back against her Shadow? Why was she fighting back against an escape? An old memory bloomed in Miyako's mind, a memory of a dark day. She saw three figures on a dusty street. A monster come to her village to ruin her life. Miyako crying in the streets, a sword lying forgotten at her feet. And a Shadow who was little more then a husk, where a great man had once stood. Her father. Miyako had always hated his Shadow. She did hate the Shadow. Slowly it started to come back. The voice in her head no longer seemed so quiet. Her Shadow fought, a roiling darkness, fought for an easy path: release from her pain. But that wasn't who Miyako was. Miyako was the one who would take any challenge and love the thrill of the fight. Miyako might kill but she would do it feeling something, not because it was easier, but because she feared who she would otherwise become. Miyako wasn't who she had been, what her father had wanted. She was no longer the girl that danced with the waves. She was a broken woman, reforged in blood and vengeance, one who hid her pain behind bravado. But Miyako was not her Shadow, or her father's Shadow. Her Shadow screamed in her mind, grasping for dominance as her shroud of darkness receded into the morning. Miyako stumbled, suddenly weary beyond belief. She was back to normal, just a tired, bloody woman standing in the sun. She looked into Hyron's eyes, once again noticing the light and life that made them alive. She smiled. Miyako then proceeded to pass out.

"Studies have shown that your brain reacts to frowning, the facial expression making your brain unhappy. Smiling not only makes you look more positive, it makes you feel better." Mr. Misting looked back towards the maps, from his perch on Evalyn's head. "Something to think about."
-
Miyako paused in front of Hyron. The small part of her screamed to let go of the Shadow, to come back. The Shadow resisted, "just kill him", it said. "Let go." Miyako stood still, conflict raging inside as the Shadow stormed around her. Quest nodded, writing the rune into a simple circle that just activated the primary rune, the rune they didn't know. Quest rested a hand on the paper, letting his magic flow into the runes. They began glowed a burning red light. Quest talked as he worked, "The rune won't have much off an effect on it's own, most runes just modify a primary rune and give it shape and direction. Most of these circles won't do anything, but the ones that do will be very telling." Quest took his finger off the paper and it burst from a subdued glow to a shining light. Quest stood, looking down at the paper. "I don't this one has an eff-". A sudden invisible push sent Quest flying back across the room.

A tub is just a reverse boat. Why is right both the opposite of left and wrong? Why doesn't calling someone left means that they are incorrect? Why were we so lazy that we reused one word but made up a new one?! Frickin English, it is so weird.
-
"Fair enough. Let's get some rune circles made that tests one of each new rune. Then we can figure out what they do." Miyako leisurely strolled after them. Why was she going slow? Why not run? No, a small part of her said. We can take our time. We are going to win, why strain ourselves? That felt unsatisfied but Miyako accepted it. She was going to win, they were as good as dead. Her Shadow slumbered, glutted from the recent feast. However the shroud of darkness still lay about her. She calmy walked through the field of bodies again, watching as Hyron and Yerik ran away. She would get them, she always did.

I love the logic issues of Alcatraz. Personally I like to think the space people think France is, happens to be a MASSIVE country sized prison named Bastille. *Shrugs* But yeah, that's funny. Someone go ask Brandon. I really want a wob on this.

Miyako walked back towards the vines, a serene calm on her face. A cold wind blew away all conflict in her mind, Miyako knew what she needed to do. Miyako strolled towards the captive guards. She flicked out her sword, each strike ending a life. Blood splattered her clothes. Miyako felt nothing. Why would she feel bad for doing what she needed to be done? Her Shadow lent her direction, pure focus on the objective. And if that involved killing, then so be it. Miyako stopped, ten bodies resting around her. She picked up her hat and placed it again on her head. Miyako stood, looking over the carnage. A light wind drifted through the clearing, rustling her hair. She stood breathing in, satisfied. Looking at the power the shadow allowed her. A challenge met and a step closer to what she needed to do. Her mind was a still winter morning, cold and quiet. Done taking in the moment, Miyako's eyes drifted towards the two people left in the clearing. Hyron and Yerik. They were a hinderance, she had no need for them and could prove an issue. A faint voiced screamed from the back of her mind, to quiet to be heard clearly. She should kill them, it was the easiest answer. But still, some deep part of Miyako wanted to listen to the quiet voice that still fought with passion, that wrested for control over the shadow. The part that would fight tooth and nail for her friends. For....Hyron. NO. Miyako recoiled. It was simple, clean cut. It was the only answer. Hyron and Yerik were a liability. They had to die. And so Miyako walked across the clearing, a figure of blue and red and black, with a face as cold as stone.

"Yes! Umm, we write the runes into a script that commands the energy that I provide and we get, umm, the effect detailed by the script circle. Her hat was blown off by the impact. She would get it soon enough. Miyako calmy walked over to the women and swung her sword at her head.

Quest smiled wildly, running up to Antin. "Yes! These runes will be so useful! Thank you Antin." He paused breathing and smiled again. "Now lets figure out what they do. Hmm, onto more testing I suppose." The swords met in the air, the force of Miyako's blade, stream, shadow and titanic leap driving into the women's blade.

While calming waiting, Miyako fought like crashing waves. When the guards fighting her stream paused for a second, Miyako struck. She feinted towards her opponent, and in that moment called her stream, slashing it towards the guards head. It was only a brief moment, but that was all she needed.

Miyako lands among the three guard slashing out with her sword. Her stream of water fought alongside her, covering her flank while she looked for an opening to drain them with the Shadow. Weaving from move to move with a grace and speed lent from her Shadow, Miyako was a blur of steel and water.

As the Hyron's vines grew towards Miyako she grabbed onto a one, draining with her Shadow. It withered in her grasp and she easily cut through the rest reaching towards her. Calmy, as if on a morning walk, Miyako looked around the battlefield. Hyron would have to be dealt with, but he was no danger to her at the moment. The guards were still struggling even with the vines. Guards, then Hyron. It was so clean cut, so simple. It was so easy. Miyako jumped up, sailing through the air at the rest of the guards, cloaked by an aura of midnight even in the daylight sun. A living Shadow come to bring death.

Miyako shot the stream through the man's visor, into his head. She turned to the rest of the men. Her face was hard, cold, emotionless. The face of a killer.
