Miyako stood motionless, studying the newcomer.

Quest glanced over at a blackened, burned section of the wood floor. "Ummm, no promises." Miyako causally opened her waterskin. She was leaning against a wall in the cottage, facing the door. She eyed the strangers, noting the eyes, the perfect sync. Something was brewing and Miyako was going to be ready.

Miyako shrugged, "We're gonna go use a broken cottage. We'll see after that."

"Let's go Acolyte, Viney. We got what we can out of them." @Ookla the Crow @Ookla the Forgotten "Yes! But we know enough runes that I have completed some very rudimentary rune circles. But, now we can test every rune to find its properties. We can do active testing now that we can are own rune circles."

OH MY GOSH HOLLOW KNIGHT IS SO GOOD! I got it as of two days ago and have played for 12 hours in that time span. Easily my new favorite game. -
Miyako knew Yerik's face. It was hard to lose someone you had been fighting for. Miyako walked up to Yerik and placed her hand on his shoulder and squeezed. "Yerik? Ya want to talk outside? These Elders seem done talking to us." Quest ran up to Antin, trying to hold onto a jumbled stack of papers. He dropped them on the floor and spread them out, displaying the rune circles to Antin. "I got rune circles working, we can use the witch's magic!"

Quest tried again, for over five minutes before his magic reserves were dangerously low. "Hmmm, that isn't going to work then." Flustered, he spun around, looking over the room. "Aha!" He ran over to a fresh piece of paper and began mumbling as he scribbled frantically. "I tried making runes with magic but that was too unstable, what I haven't tried is making runes and then adding magic!" Quest finished a simple script circle on his paper with easy runes. It translated to: fire, only, light. Quest focused for a moment, drawing on his wells of life and fire magic. His life magic was to flightly for the runes, wanting to escape its constraints, to grow. However, fire magic could work. Not sustainably mind you, fire wants to burn to destroy and it would follow its intent, degrading the runes. But when set to a task the fire would function. Finger to the page, the runes began to glow a soft warm red. The page crinkled, blackening around the edges. Quest gritted his teeth, pulling deeper on his magic. A tense moment passed, as Quest fought the raging intent of his magic. He prevalied, winning he fight he has won many times. Light flooded the rune and spread like wildfire to the rest of the circle. The runes suddenly dimmed and a ball of light burned into existence above the paper, emitting no heat, giving off only light. Quest fell back, shocked. "It... it actually worked. It actually worked!" Grinning, with a spark burning within his eye, Quest got to writing runes. Miyako laughs quietly to herself, "Viney." "You Elders were saying?"

Miyako snorted. “It has to be descriptive. And accurate. Do better Viney.”

Miyako and spun around to Hyron and Yerik, a slight smirk on her face. Pointing she addressed each of them them, “acolyte. Viney.”

Quest sighed and walked over to Antin with his healing green light. Miyako nodded, "I heard you call that lady Weaver, so nicknames are fair game?"

Quest shrugged, "I don't know Antin. I....I have no idea. This is all new to me." Miyako didn't speak, for fear of ruining the information dump. But how did Yerik know this, unless of course, he was from here?

"The name junk? The oh so mysterious curse? The chained down islands? This Queen lady?" Miyako said, waving her sword to accent each question.

"We have many requests, actually." Awkward silence. "What the tides is going on?"

Miyako opened her mouth. She quickly closed it. She nodded curtly to Hyron, turned away to hide a blush, and then leapt up to her feet. Miyako cleared her throat and addressed the Elders. "You were saying?"

Miyako waved her hand at the Elders distractedly. "Yeah in a sec. This is important." She was still sprawled across the floor staring in pure shock up at Hyron.

Miyako paused before saying the first thing to come to mind. Hyron would probably punch her again. And so for the first time in a while, Miyako was diplomatic. "So, umm, ok. How does that work? Like biologically?"

"Wait!? You're a girl?" Miyako was to shocked to block the punch and was thrown to the floor. She stared up at Hyron, mouth hanging open.

Miyako covered it with a laugh, subtly rubbing her shoulder. "Sorry, he's new here. Still trying to figure out how the world works."

HOLD UP, someone else care about Kobolds? I thought no one but me appreciated the scaly vermin.

After changing mine to Ookla the Kobold I realized few people will get what that is. But I get and like 5 D&D people, that's enough for me. Also I have to say, I saw a few Ookla's yesterday and simply thought everyone was insane.

"From my understanding, she is stopping me from leaving. Therefore she needs to be delt with." Miyako shrugged, "Simple as that."

Miyako spun her sword, leaning in the doorway. "I'm bout to go kill this Queen lady and I thought I might need some background details. I'm not needing her life story but the basics would be nice."
