  1. Yes, this is why Gavilar is fascinating. Each character shows another view of his actions and character, and gives another perspective on who Gavilar is. So I'm thinking it through in my head and I've decided that Gavilar is the storming personification of cancerous anal discharge. I think the only positive things I have to say about Gavilar are from Dalinar who hero worships him. Though I love Dalinar, both him and Gavilar are the products of Alethi society, a culture that I fundamentally disagree with. Most of Gavilar's good qualities I can think off are based off of leadership of his kingdom, the lands of which he massacred so he could claim domain. He is ambitious, which I guess could be a good quality to you Slytherin and he cares about his family in the loosest sense. (Most of my evidence for the following paragraph is from the stormlight 5 prologue so slight disclaimer) Gavilar is a conniving jerk who controls the people around him for his own personal gain. In true Machiavellian nature, he throws crafted insults at Navani and Dalinar that are meant to hurt them where it hurts most. He cares nothing for his family, only for his precious legacy. He is a power hungry conqueror that hoarded his secrets and played with gods as if he was ever capable. Now, I'm not trying to hate on Gavilar for no reason. I like nuanced discussion and I am not trying to offend anyone. And this is just what is so interesting about Gavilar, I am just one more perspective on his character. I think that it is hard to truly define what good and bad are when it comes to characters. Everyone is a shade of gray. When I judge someone I try to take into account both the actions and the motives and usually that makes it very hard to see where the line is for undefined terms such as "good" and "bad". But in this case, it is my opinion that Gavilar is a bad person. After examining the facts I see no redeeming quality for Gavilar.
  2. Ha, this is also me. Sorry to be quoting something so far back, but I too have memorized the first section of my favorite book. The whole first page of The Name of the Wind to be exact. I don't know if I could still quote it perfectly, but I still know it very well. I just keep it in my back pocket in case I need to monologue. I guess this is the thing I am sharing? I don't know. I just saw what Ase said I remembered this fun fact.
  3. Mr. Misting nodded. "When are we are to be leaving?"
  4. "Umm, yes! I think we can figure out some way to get past the staircase eventually. We just need to find the right runes." Miyako continues to sleep.
  5. Miyako slumped against the wall and pulled her hat over her face. "Night."
  6. "I am very fashionable! I would only put my soul in the finest of top hats."
  7. "Ok Viney." "We can't leave on the ship, cause it's broken. These villagers aren't of much use. And this Queen lady is in our way." Miyako said, counting off the points on her fingers. "Fastest way off is to go kill the Queen. Quick, clean cut."
  8. Mr. Misting scoffed, "You would get to wear me! I won't be a hindrance and can supply my extensive knowledge of Santa and his complexes."
  9. “It works through logically questionable backstory and magic.”
  10. "Evalyn is right. We need good intel before we can go after Santa. I can go as backup, I used to be a thief after all."
  11. Miyako slyly smiled and then she paused. Her eyes narrowed. “Viney, ya slipped up there. Don’t use my name. “ Miyako turned to the village lady. “Someone had to tell the Queen my name right? Or she doesn’t know?”
  12. "Yes, that has been what I've been working on for the last while. I have figured out ways to trigger the traps, letting you avoid the effects, but with stuff like the force wall that isn't an option." Miyako stared at him, a hand casually resting on the sword at her waist.
  13. "Ummm, it was a small fire. It went out quickly....." Quest trailed off. "Tides. We really should go kill her."
  14. Mr. Misting grunted. "Supreme idiocy brings out the worst in me."
  15. Miyako closed her waterskin and gestured towards the Nameless. "Why are they all hollow looking?"
  16. With mock solemnity Mr. Misting replied. "You. Are. Offending."
  17. The salesman falters. "At Throne Insurance Incorporated we have a strict non tyrant policy." He pulls out a checklist. "What kind of tyrannical behavior do you partake in?"
  18. "But wait!" A teleporting door to door throne insurance man appears. "Do you have insurance for your lovely new throne? Such a treasure needs reassurance that damage will compensated."
  19. Mr. Misting has no mouth as he is an animated top hat. It bounces off with no effect. However, Mr. Misting focuses back towards the main story and stops insulting Silho. For the moment at least. "Yes, when will this Santa murdering be going down?
  20. "I call it as I see it. Though disgusting would be a good word to describe you, ego, pride and all."
  21. I have a ever-growing list of very good words on my phone, but for brevity's sake I will keep it down to like top 10 words or something. Cromulent Spiel Hypothetically Aforementioned Miscreant Shambles Masquerading Machinations Unbeknownst Parlance Ludicrous Debacle Perambulate
  22. Mr. Misting snorted. "Your ego is not hidden. You flaunt it around as if puffed up pride is some great thing."
