So is it just me or does the Stormfather seem different in stormlight 5 prologue. The description of the Stormfather is drastically changed. "As he sometimes did, the Stormfather formed a rippling in the air beside Gavilar. Vaguely in the shape of a person, but indistinct. Without color or really form. Like the wavering in the air made by great heat on the stones." In earlier books the stormfather was a face in the storms not whatever this is. I know they are going to be continuity errors in this because it is an early draft, but this feels intentional. What do you guys think, am I missing something?

I think that Hoid could totally fight Kelsier and the Fused, he was just avoiding Odium. And if there was such a fight, Hoid would just win. Because he knows how to world hop easily, if he just brings some friends like Frost of Jasnah then Kelsier can't do much. Also as far as we know Hoid has something like five Invested Arts and insane healing.

I think Spook as a savant is the one seeking, because he would definitely be the best as finding people. Wayne would be great at this because if someone is close to him he can speed bubble away and also I think Wayne could pull all kind of nonsense. I think most Knight Radiants would be bad at this, because drawing in stormlight is very bright, however they do have spren (though I don't know if a spren would count as a second player). I could see Lift being great at this, because she already is a thief and can climb around on Wyndle. Vin would also be amazing, because sneaking around and running away are her fortes. Any of the sleepless could also disperse into cremlings then climb over walls and stuff. Wan ShaiLu with her essence marks would also be a very good hider. Those are some characters I think would do pretty good, that's just my thoughts. Very interesting topic

I would probably be a A-Tin, F-Zinc. I think this would be a very potent combination in very many situations. Having a sensory overload and the time to quickly process all of it, and then making the best choice by analyzing that information seems quite good. If I'm in a fight and I flare tin and tap a ton out of my zinc mind, I can pinpoint everyone on the battle field and rapid fire them in quick succession. Also I think that everyone underestimates the upsides of storing your mental speed. It doesn't slow down time or anything but completing menial tasks would probably go by easier if you were filling your zinc-mind. Also I think it would be a lot easier to focus on lectures and stuff if you had to use your complete mental ability to understand the concepts, a desirable difficulty. If you want the best for fighting just be a steelrunner, it is easily the best feruchemical ability. Or just be a compounder, also crazy good.

Yeah! That’s exactly what I was thinking, you just said it a lot better

And while I'm making hot takes I might as well make another controversial opinion. Some people really dislike the Wayne chapter on BoM before he jumps on the train. That happens to be my second favorite chapter of all time (the first is chapter 73 in Wise Man's Fear, but only the first section)

So I have heard in the fandom a general agreement that Alloy of Law is the weakest era 2 book. I have very differing opinions on this topic. When I first read Brandon Sanderson I went through all of the mistborn and easily thought Alloy was my favorite. Even though it's a much smaller book, in terms of plot and stacks, I still love the characters and arcs seen in it. The fight near the end in the warehouse is so cool, and getting to explore era 2 for the first time was also pretty great. Shadows of Self is also pretty good, but the high pace speed was a lot for me. I liked a lot of the plot and it was a cool thriller, high stakes detective thing. Parts of the kandra stuff I didn't love and other elements just didn't land right for me. Still an awesome book but not as good as Alloy in my opinion. Bands of mourning... I kind of got lost in all the sci-fi stuff. The second half of the book I was confused and it felt totally off of the style of the other two books, I still like BoM but it is low on my favorite Brandon Sanderson books. So, in conclusion I think of Alloy of Law is one of my favorite Brandon Sanderson books, probably top three, but easily my favorite Mistborn. So you see why I was confused when every was down on it. Please explain to me why you think the other Mistborn books are better or if you think this is the best one also.

That is a great catch and would make a lot of sense. The question is why did someone come from Scadrial to First of Sun, have kids, and not explain Allomancy? And also now I have a great excuse to go read Sixth of Dusk again, which I am very glad for.

I just finished Ms. Marvel and I have to say I loved it. There were aspects I didn't love, namely the Jihn. But the rest of the show was great, I love all the actors and the story. I wasn't sure if I was going to like all the stuff with the bangle and the Noor but in general awesome show. Now I just have to figure out how to rank all the Marvel shows, they keep consistently being great (besides Falcon and Winter Solider).

Yeah elantrians are weird, the magic system is much less constrained because the Shards are dead and their investiture are the source. No limits were ever placed on them. I never thought of them as mini shards but that totally makes sense. That is a very cool theory that I think could be very plausible. If only ten or so Elantrians were alive would they be one tenth as strong as a shard? The one question I have is when all the elantrians were taken by the Shaod, no one said that the other Sel magic systems increased in power, or maybe it just wasn't mentioned. Either way it would be very hard to ascend but this raises a lot of cool questions.

Soulstamped murder camels
Mr. Misting replied to HOID WANTS INSTANT NOODLES's topic in Elantris and Emperor's Soul
Now I just want a showdown between the mistborn llamas and the murder camels. -
We know that the Heralds are good examples of cognitive shadows that are being worshipped. It's very hard to tell the effects of said attention, maybe it relates to their madness? That's a very interesting line of thought, I just don't think we know enough to follow it yet.

Wayne is my favorite, I just love his character growth and quirks. That one chapter in Bands of Mourning where he just does crap is one of my favorite chapters of all time. I also really like everyone else in the core four but I just like them in very different ways.

I don't know a ton of actors but I'm pretty sure I want Ryan George as Kelsier, and also Ryan George as Vin, plus this one obscure guy named Ryan George as Marsh. To top it off a controversial hot take with Ryan George being the Lord Ruler.

An oddity with the Knight Radiant quiz
Mr. Misting replied to Mr. Misting's topic in Stormlight Archive
That would make a lot of sense, thanks for answering my question. I can also totally see this, being myself an Elsecaller and second a Truthwatcher. -
Good job existing, and also hello!

Nice! Also side tangent I don’t know how Brandon keeps making so many books. When I first starting reading I was annoyed for how long I would have to wait for more cosmere and then next week Brandon dropped the secret projects.

So I love Brandon Sanderson (obviously) and I have had a few of my friends and family take the knight radiant's quiz. Four out the nine people that I had take it were Windrunners. This seemed odd to me so I tried to think of some reasons why this might be. People that live in my area and family might just have general ideals and personalities that fit with Windrunners. I can also see how Windrunners are a very classic stereotype that people might see themselves as, everyone wants to be just and protecting. I have no idea why but this just seemed interesting to me. Have anyone else experienced something like this? Do you have any ideas why?

Mistborn Secret History Questions (for Brandon/ WoBs)
Mr. Misting replied to GoWibble's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Though it might be possible for cognitive shadows to see their selves differently and therefore change there clothing, I don't Kelsier has the strength of will to do this, or if you will the Alar* required. It would be extremely hard to change you how see yourself. *The Name of the Wind reference- 8 replies

Dang that looks great. I would totally make it, if I had any talent for this kind of stuff...

Hello, this is apparently where we say hi. So um yeah. Love all the Brandon Sanderson books and have been studying Coppermind for a while but just realized I can post stuff on this website.

I could see myself being a good Autonomy because I would just want to do my own thing. I could also maybe be Ambition, depending on how destructive the Intent is. Though I don't think we know enough about the Shard's intent for me to really say.

The first time I read the book every chapter felt like the same thing from each character. Each character's issues felt like the entire point of their chapters and I didn't get time to enjoy what I liked about them. And to break things up it was just Kaladin chasing nodes. I still really like this book it was just a hard read first time through.

So, in the most recent episode of Intentionally Blank, Dan and Brandon were talking about D&D stories. While Dan was about to talk about the ending to a campaign Brandon stops him, saying that he is going to use it in Stormlight 5 (Episode 61, 17:30). This is very interesting and I doubt we can get much detail on this, but this definitely warrants speculation. Before that we get a lot of information on the campaign and on some of the characters in it. Maybe we can try to figure out what the ending was. We have mention of wild magic, trading predictability for much stronger spells. With the way Dalinar is messing with Honor and Bondsmithing that could mean something. There is other stuff that mentions a "god" how grants magic being resurrected along with a bunch of other people. None of this probably means anything but there is enough to speculate.

I think Adin is in the book to show how Radiant's have affected the publics perception and to give us a view of the tower occupation. Adin's father is brave sure, but I doubt he has anything to do with the Radiants.
