  1. What I think would be cool is Elsecaller and Lurcher. You could Soulcast an anchor out of anything and then fly towards that object or pull that object towards you.
  2. I have a many thoughts to add to this. Most of "good" Kelsier is seen through the eyes of a young easily influenced girl who is hero worshipping him. Kelsier definitely has some good attributes that when combined with his dangerous potential can end up with a positive outcome such as overthrowing the lord ruler or stealing from the Ire. But that doesn't change the motive that Kelsier has when he is doing those things. He is very egotistical and and tries to put on a show for everyone. Even his positive attitude is a form of revenge against the Lord ruler, making him stand out more from everyone else. Lets look at Kelsier's journey. He went from being a thief who stole with such bravado and greed that he had to take a massive risk that ended up killing his wife, even though he probably could have lived the rest of his days happily and started a family with Mare. He went to the mine and Snapped, having all of his murderous inclinations fueled by newfound power and a seething hatred for the Lord Ruler. He goes back to "free the people from oppression" but I think we all know that he just wants to prove that no one is as great as he is, and to get vengeance on the Lord Ruler. Sure he does care about the skaa marginally and doesn't like how the Lord Ruler has oppressed the people, but he is mostly doing it to prove a point and repay a debt. After becoming a Cognitive Shadow I do think he grows as a person and such but even Vin notes that he should keep his ego in check. I like Kelsier, I think most of what he does is justified. Knights of Honor, I like the way you put it. He is a man in a hard, rough world making hard, rough decisions. The problem I think is the motive for those decisions. Kelsier is a great man, but I don't necessarily think he is a good one.
  3. I think it's fair to say that Autonomy is taking this agreement a decent step farther. Sealing her main planet from any outside interaction is a drastic option that no other shard have taken (as far as we know). It's very reasonable to say I might be looking way to much into things but I can see how Autonomy would see alone as part of her intent.
  4. Welcome to the Shard Diedra! I totally know how you feel.
  5. The AMAs are more for random funny questions, not serious Cosmere discussion. I you want to ask this question a better place would be the Cosmere Q&A or Cosmere Discussion forums. Also try not to double post. It makes things a lot more concise if you just do it in one reply.
  6. What order of Knight Radiant do you wish you were because of the powers and what order do you wish your philosophy most lined up with? Off the top of your head what is the most interesting use you can think off for a potato?
  7. This seems fun, I guess I'll make this. If you want to ask me crap this is the place.
  8. If I got to choose I would want to be A-Tin and F-Zinc. Tin works really well with the mental speed that zinc gives you, it gives you a deluge of information and the time to figure out how to use it. And I don't think storing mental speed would be to hard, whenever doing a menial task or you are bored you can just start storing and time would pass faster because you process it slower. Also I think this thread might fit better on the mistborn forums. And I think we already have a thread dedicated to this.
  9. Hello and welcome to the shard! Have you read all the cosmere books or just some?
  10. Well the thing is Odium has been confined on the Rosharan system for a long fricken while. He wouldn't have a chance to put a avatar on Scadrial. He also is probably opposed to splitting his power, because that makes him weaker and easier to be taken out by other shards. Autonomy on the other hand has a strong incentive and opportunity to put a avatar on Scadrial. During the catacendre, shards would have started to worry about Harmony, since he has two shards and such. Autonomy could probably have slipped a avatar under Harmony's radar since there was so much crap going on and Harmony wouldn't be experienced enough to notice it. Trell also has many parallels to autonomy. The name Trell is seen on Taldain, and Trell's followers have strong beliefs in freedom and giving people autonomy. Personally I think the mention of red and gold going after harmony is autonomy showing how she is working with Odium. This is just what I think but it makes so much sense for Autonomy and Trell to be related.
  11. Yeah that sucks. I know what it feels like that life is gray and your letting everyone down. It is so much easier to bottle up your feelings and let it consume. I always just need someone who can listen and I feel safe around. Whenever I feel like crap I just go cry to my Mom and vomit my all my bad vibes out. But yeah, just keep going. Find the small things that make life worth living.
  12. Good plan, I know how you feel. When I found the forums after reading all of Sanderson's works it was great
  13. Basically what everyone else said. Welcome and glad to have you here to talk about nerd crap. But yeah, nearly every thread in the stormlight forums will have massive spoilers for all of everything. And if you do get mistborn, you will not be disappointed.
  14. I love all of this, amazing theory. I think I know how the war will start though. Scadrial will start striking out at Autonomy's avatars after killing or dealing with Trell, seeing Autonomy as a big threat to the cosmere. A lot of people will be mad at Scadrial because these Avatars are worshiped as gods on many planets. Odium who I think is working with Autonomy will retaliate and start the war with Harmony.
  15. Trell is almost certainly one of Autonomy's avatars, I don't think that is even questionable at this point. And yes I think Odium and Autonomy are totally colluding to take out shards. I'm not just saying this because I dislike Autonomy or anything, she is my favorite shard. But it makes sense on a lot of levels. Autonomy can put avatars on a lot more worlds if the shard that lived there is dead, and her freedom is less constrained because there are less shards to influence her. Odium wouldn't see Autonomy as a threat because she has put so much of her power into avatars. It makes sense.
  16. I don't actually think this would work. When storing a attribute it would becomes the new baseline for your body. So you therefore can't heal what isn't broken. Yes the Knight Radiants can use stormlight to heal muscles and stuff but that is because something is actively being damaged. This is just what I think. Maybe you can use weird perception cognitive crap to make it work.
  17. Yeah I don't think we are going to have beings who will hold more than two shards. Having that many intents would make it hard to take actions that wouldn't contradict something. . Also I think Autonomy might be working with Odium, and if not Scadrial is definity not friends with Autonomy. Trell who is almost assuredly her avatar has been messing with Harmony and Scadrians and making them generally mad at Autonomy. Also I think Cultivation will not go along with Odium's crazy world domination plans. So if I was to make a lineup I could see Harmony, Wit and Cultivation vs. Odium mixed with Refused Honor (War maybe?) and Autonomy
  18. I like this idea but I would do a lot of these very differently, here is my improved(?) list: Ruin: Whimsy (I think Ruining things just for the sake of it has kind of a whimsy feel to it, but yeah its a tenuous connection at best. Invention: Virtuosity (Both these shards are about creating something, invention could totally be seen as a art form) Valor: Odium (Valor has a very crusade-y, conquest feel. Totally Odium's jam) Honor: Dominion (Honor is all about binding his following and placing rules on them, Dominion fits great) Preservation: Wisdom/Prudence (not confirmed) (Preserving things seem wise, I don't know. Wisdom and Ambition feel interchangeable with how I did it, it is very ambitious to have everything in statis and not change.) Cultivation: Devotion (These two fit very well, helping your followers grow and progress in a loving way, its too good) Endowment: Mercy (This one is perfect I don't even have to defend it) Autonomy: Ambition (I think I Bavadin might be ambitious and not Autonomy in general, switch it with Wisdom if you want.) As for the theory itself, I don't know. I think that it is a interesting way to group the shards and you found a good connection between the action and emotion shards. Interesting idea but I don't think it holds a lot of merit.
  19. Full Fercuhemist all the way for me. Storing speed is probably one of the strongest things you can do, if you store up one hour of speed and then compound then into one minute you can just be the Flash and win any fight. Other powers would be super useful for everyday life, for example storing mental speed and then at a latter time thinking twice as fast seems helpful when doing anything. I can be a walking dictionary, literally with copperminds. I can go days without eating food or sleeping. Storing health and having the insurance that you probably won't die to most things is nice. Finding the time to store all of these attributes would be annoying for sure, but the crazy things that become possible makes it totally worth.
  20. So I haven't seen a thread for this show and I think there needs to be one. I finished it a week ago and it has easily become my new favorite live action show. Has anyone else here seen it?
  21. I love Percy Jackson, but has anyone here read the Trials of Apollo ? No one is talking about them and they are pretty dang good. Not as good as Heroes of Olympus or anything but I'd say they surpass the original percy jacksons.
  22. I can think of so many ways of Yesteel to abuse the Scadrial magic systems to get investiture on demand. If he gets allomancy from either a learisum bead (unlikely but maybe) or through spiking himself with the powers of an allomancer. I don't know if tapping into preservations powers for allomancy would help Yesteel, since all of the investiture would go into an effect that directly affects the world. There isn't a space in that cycle for Yesteel to tap into the preservation's investiture. One way that I think would let Yesteel get infinite investiture is to be a nicrosiol compounder, again by stealing it through hemalurgy. He could just store a little bit of investiture into a nicrosiol-mind and then burn the mind. You get to steal infinite investiture from preservation and live on Scadrial super easily, making awakened monstrosities for the rest of his days.
  23. Steris Sly Hesnia (Always underrated on these kinds of lists) Lift when she grows up and becomes awesome. And even though I'm fairly straight Adolin is just too good
  24. I am taking most of the stuff where Autonomy wants to remain alone from that letter she sent to Hoid. Multiple times Autonomy talks about how she will countine alone, "As the waves of the sea must continue to surge, so must our will continue resolute. Alone." Yes the dictionary definition doesn't equate autonomy with being alone, but Autonomy herself certainly thinks the two line up. The thing is Autonomy could have just made the Sand Lord and then people start to worship him. I don't think it works as well the other way around.
  25. Another big reason that its hard to bond multiple spren is just attracting the spren in the first place. Having a spren want to form a bond with you is a very random opportunity. For example with Hoid we can see that we never found a Cryptic in all the time that he has been on Roshar and how he has to track one down so that he can bond it. So if the likelihood of bonding one spren is slim, than the chances of attracting two spren is extremely low. Sure splinters might be able to handle multiple spren bonds easier, but it would be insanely unlikely.
