  1. Sorry but I think you are a little confused, Fortune is a realmatic term not a shard. As for the question I also think Endowment has to be good at seeing the future, since we actually see that happening with the returned. Same with Odium. I agree with Returned that Cultivation and Autonomy are also probably good at this.
  2. When I read this the first time I thought this was more Leras than preservation, Senna might have been his wife or friend from before ascending. It's reasonable to think that Senna might be a shard but I don't think it necessarily is going to be Mercy And also I totally agree that Mercy will be a jerk.
  3. This is the best idea, I love it. I'm thinking through all the options though and maybe this could be a big bad setup for the back half of stormlight. I think Brandon has enough on his plate with book 5 that we don't need another big character, and the thing is the fused villains from RoW didn't get minis. So Zellion would have to get more done than Rabionel, in a book with a thousand loose threads during the duration of 10 days. I think Zellion might be a big name in the back half of stormlight, because otherwise he wouldn't be important enough to be made a special case spoiler mini. Also he's got to be a fused or parshendi or something, no way that's a human.
  4. According to you making avatars actually increases a shards power and influence. If this is true why wouldn't every single shard be doing it. There has to be a downside otherwise we would be seeing a lot more avatars from shards.
  5. I think it the best way to do this is just have an average non spren shardbow and have your spren be the ammunition. That way your spren can pierce through anything, and be summoned back to shoot again. We already know that current shardbows are crazy strong and stuff so would being a spren shardbow even be that much of a difference? This would also work with guns, just have your spren be a bullet and then shoot through any rusting thing you want.
  6. I liked them, they were pretty good. There just isn't as much to talk about when compared to Brandon's other works.
  7. I think this makes plenty of sense, Trell could totally be increasing his efforts right now in an attempt to gain access to atium. It would actually explain why Trell is targeting Elendel Basin. I could see a perpendicularity being in the Elendel Basin or directly in Elendel. What makes me think is the amazing fertility of the land. In Hallandren they also have a very rich land and Brandon has said that is because of Endowment's perpendicularity there, so it would make sense for a perpendicularity in Elendel also. He has also said Elendel basin's lushness is because Harmony is making the mists give nutrients to the ground and stuff, but a perpendicularity wouldn't hurt.
  8. Yes the coin can be any metal, steel is just what you are burning.
  9. So the way steelpushing works is you target a piece of metal. You then burn steel which pushes on the metal object. If you are heavier then the object it gets pushed away, flying away from you in a straight line. If the object weighs more then you, you will fly away in a straight line. If you throw a coin and push on it, the coin will fly away until it hits the ground. At that point the coin can’t move anywhere, because it now “weighs” more, so you go flying instead. Does that answer your question?
  10. Ok yes fair, Wax isn’t wearing the earring at the moment. The thing is though Wax might just feel more at peace and calm in the mists, so he stops noticing his hand. Also I don’t think you can base your theory off a guy who Harmony is messing with, Wax is the exception not the rule. If Wayne or Marasi showed powers in the mists you might have something but until then I don’t think you can have access to more than one power, excluding Hemalurgy and Harmony shenanigans.
  11. All of this sounds reasonable and very cool. These feel like logical ways to use connection, I like it.
  12. So does that mean that the Mists can provide just a touch of any of the powers? Brandon also said that a Misting's power is determined by genetics, and that Mists can empower and Snap someone who ordinarily wouldn't have enough allomantic potential. So does that mean, since all Mistings are descendants of full Mistborn, that they have like, 60% potential for their primary power and 1% or something for all the others. And the mists empower this one percent? Ok lots of notes on this. First off only Tineyes can see better in the mists, not all Mistings. Ferrings probably couldn't see through the mists because their powers aren't as strongly tied to preservation. That quote from BoM is special to Wax. Mists don't generically power every Misting, Wax is tied very close to Harmony and his earring is probably granting him slight pewter abilities. Mistings only have access to their powers, not any of the other ones. Yes Mists can power allomancy but preservation has to specifically allow it, that is not a something that an average Allomancer could do.
  13. Yes but I doubt there are ten different types of spren that give the voidbinders Shardblade and Plate (unless of course they are on Braize and Asyn). I think the voidbinders might have similarities to the Knight Radiants but not in the fact that they get spren. I think it will more be about the connection to the individual and Fused/Odium, and if that is the case probably no cool Shards.
  14. I like Treamayne's idea, it makes sense for Amaram's crystal stuff to be linked to progression. Also I don't think Voidbinders would even necessary have Shardblades and Plates. Those are related to the knight radiants and their relationship with spren in the physical realm, not to surgebinding in general. At this point I don't think Voidbinders will be an Odium parallel of the Knight Radiants.
  15. No I know, but Autonomy prime would still be weaker. If Odium attacked Autonomy Prime she would still be connected to the rest of the investiture but it would not be able to help her because it would be on different planets, attached to different "gods". I'm not saying Autonomy collective pool of investiture is getting smaller, I'm saying that Autonomy prime is getting weaker because she is dividing the power.
  16. We have no reason to believe that making avatars makes u less powerful. chasmfriend's son Is there a finite amount of Investiture? Brandon Sanderson Yes. chasmfriend's son So is Nightblood consuming it? Brandon Sanderson Yes. Very, very slowly. Holiday signing (Dec. 12, 2015) If there is a finite amount of investiture then making literal pantheons of gods, will make you weaker than the average shard.
  17. I like your point about the time period but you are making the point to the wrong people. Sure it is conventional for people for get married in this time but Wayne and MeLann are so removed from society's conventions. MeLaan is a quirky 600 year old immortal and Wayne's favorite pastime is ignoring logic and social norms.
  18. We have a WOB that says that the worldhopper in Lost Metal is from an Indian inspired planet. As much as I would like to see more Selish magic I don't think that Sel is an Indian inspired planet. This probably means a new planet since I can't think of any current planets that are inspired off of India, though feel free to correct me if I am wrong.
  19. I think that in the occurrence of Jasnah about to kill Renarin it just shows how the future sight isn't perfect, at least for Renarin. There was a high possibility that Jasnah would kill him but he couldn't see every outcome. And when it comes to Dalinar I think you are right, Cultavation's influence messed it up. But he could still technically succumb to Odium's side in the contest of champions.
  20. No Tanavast has been very dead a long time before the events of Kaladin ever took place. Honor is also very dead and splintered so he probably doesn't have enough presence of mind to talk to Sly. To me it makes a lot of sense for Cultivation to be talking to Sly, I wouldn't be surprised if her plans went back this far.
  21. Welcome to the Shard! Have you just read Elantris or have you read all of his books?
  22. Wayne would be in jail, Marasi would have gotten a Nobel Peace Prize for something, Kelsier would be on YouTube with millions of followers, Elend would be a college professor and be best friends with Yomen (this is nerdy Elend, because in this world he would never become a tyrant), and Ranette would be rich because she made some revolutionary technology thing.
  23. I would think probably not. Shards are specific "objects" and the way they are viewed definitely changes their nature. All of the shard's investiture is divided specifically into 16 different shardic intents, so if you just gathered random investiture it wouldn't be a concentrated intent like the other shards have. You would probably be extremely powerful and stuff but personally I don't think you would be a shard.
  24. I was going to do Elsecaller paired with another order because that is my base and favorite order of Knight Radiant, but I quickly realized I personally would not be able to uphold elsecaller oaths and any other order's oaths. I guess I would have to go with something like Truthwatcher and Willshaper.
  25. I'm fairly certain that is a reference to Tindwyl. I just checked the Coppermind and I see no conformation for this, but with the four or so female characters in Era 1 this makes the most sense to me.
