While one of the spores creating water would be in line with the Ten Essences theory I feel it would be too similar to the reason that slatrification was decanonized making me think Brandon wouldn’t do that. All the other stuff might be true though just number 3 is the most iffy for me.
I assume post Reod the Elantrians would be a bit more grounded even if the surrounding people start to worship them again and Shai being cosmere aware would work her understanding into the Essence Mark. Maybe she has less control over the personality than I thought but given how it is described in Emperor’s Soul that doesn’t seem to be the case. However it’s possible the magnanimity is actually helpful for the Ghostbloods since she also loses her memory a bit but it feels more like a drawback.
I think Brandon has said less than a century more than a decade. And given the context clues in the stories Hoid is most likely telling the story to a realmatically aware group on First of the Sun around the time Sixth of the Dusk takes place (maybe between it and the sequel chapter released).
I will admit that Shai’s take on being Elantrian as a holier than thou entity was weird. I would have thought her being so realmatically aware would result in the personality she crafted in the stamp being more grounded. But maybe she did it as a joke given that she is working for Kelsier (assuming it was created after she joined the Ghostbloods).
This is pretty much a nitpicky and petty complaint but I preferred the artwork for the cover during the initial announcement and excerpt releases. I assume it was changed to what we got due to being too The Little Mermaid adjacent which is understandable but still a bit disappointing. Curious to if anyone else felt similar.
@Frustration Agree to disagree then. I feel you are giving too much to Taldain based on assumptions regarding Autonomy rather than judging Taldain on its own merits but it's your post to do what you will.
Oh you are saying that all 4 would be a 256 multiplier. I was thinking it would be a 16. Wasn't thinking the dawnshard multiplication compounded on each other just thought they effected the non dawnshard investiture. So 4(4)*investiture rather than 4^4*investiture.
We got Scadrians and Rosharans there in more concerted efforts than just random worldhoppers, silly to think their Shards wouldn't be taking an active interest in it.
Sure but there was still that undercurrent of hoping they'd come back and that it all might have been a test. Gods work in mysterious ways and all that.
Or the fact that they seem to be limited to approaching the planet from the physical realm only and maybe even the Prime Directive like restrictions on contact implies she is doing something.
Just because we the readers don't see her doing anything in in a very short excerpt told from the POV of a cosmere unaware character is a very flimsy basis for a position.
