Agreed, or maybe it was corrupted by Odium or something but still I feel like Harmony would know that

It is a godmetal, so it’s literally the manifestation of Ruin (the shard) in the physical realm. It’s basically pure investiture. I could see a storyline where Harmony accidentally created an avatar that is hell bent on ruining and destroying the world. But I think it’s more likely that Trell is autonomy. Would be weird for Harmony to not see that happening with the excess investiture

Or Adonalsium.

Wayne is a full feruchemist
CognitiveShadow replied to HavingTheHasHoidAPurpose?'s topic in Mistborn
I wouldn’t put it past Wayne to have found a way to spike himself after hearing about how hemelurgy works from Wayne haha maybe Melaan got him some old inquisitor spikes and he’s kept it a secret edit: this is more of a fun idea, not really something I would find realistic -
I love this lol

Wayne is a full feruchemist

Oh oh! Remember how obsessed Wayne was with his one lucky hat that was stolen in AOL?? And he kept telling Wax to get it back for him?? Maybe because there was a good amount of identity stored up in that hat, however it happens to work. And he also tends to be picky with hats, liking some and passing on others… maybe the ones he picks that are “lucky” are the aluminum lined ones. The stylish ones anyway. edit: I had another thought- if Wayne had some tragedy linked to his use of fortune, he might associate that with anything good (especially money related) that happens to him. I doubt he is oblivious to his abilities, but he might be trying to avoid them because of whatever tragedy he thinks they caused. So now with the bowler hat people trying to make his investments grow, he is trying to balance it all out by flushing his wealth down a toilet. He might think this will even out the good fortune and therefore prevent a tragedy, like his death. That’s why he said he was a dead man when he heard how much money he had earned. -
Wayne is a full feruchemist

I think there is definitely something suspicious about how well Wayne is able to impersonate people and take on different identities. Even kandra get lessons from him… that isn’t normal. And calling out the fact that his hat is lined with aluminum is a big flag I think. Something is going on, I’m getting more and more convinced. It has to be more than just “Wayne is good at pretending and copying accents and he also happens to be obsessed with hats” -
Wayne is a full feruchemist

I think that’s fair. Totally could be the case My only major concern with this is the fact that you have to know you are holding the bands of mourning to be able to actually use them, makes it seem like you would be hard pressed to accidentally use feruchemy. That intent factor. Which implies Wayne would have to know he’s been doing this all along and only doing so much of it. Of course he does hate himself enough that maybe he doesn’t think he’s worthy of accessing all of the powers? -
Thanks for the reminder that this next year is going to be so great with all the new books. Not to mention SA5 in 2024. After that life will start to suck again for a while but wow looking forward to this period of time!!

Wayne is a full feruchemist

I’m close. And getting closer. To agreeing. Hahah like I think it’s crazy for this to be true and for Wayne to somehow not know that he has these other abilities and to still use some without realizing it…. Alternatively it’s crazy for him to know he has these abilities and only use some of them sparingly…. But this is Wayne we are talking about and he is straight up off his rocker crazy. He even called out the aluminum lines hat… and the way he completely changes personality until he removes the hat… I could see there being something to this. And I’m all for it haha -
How Trell plans to destroy not just Scadrial, but Harmony as well
CognitiveShadow replied to Ixthos's topic in Mistborn
Just gonna leave this here (intro / summary for the book on audible) Might be onto something here with this theory! -
And here I was, thinking that these chapters had passed without anything that would bring too much crazy speculation and suspense in my brain… Now I am especially frustrated with daylight savings time for adding a whole hour to my wait time to get the full book!

Oh this is a big time catch!!! Seriously this has to be important. I remember thinking something was odd about the sneeze, but that could really be it. The mask was specifically called out to be missing. Our boy wax is about to turn into a mistborn and/or a zombie for Trell
-
So what would happen if Wax tried swallowing some harmonium? Since anyone can take lerasium and become mistborn, I wonder if anyone would be able to burn harmonium? Also if you did have all the prerequisites met, what would happen if you burn it? Just a big explosion and you die? Maybe Wayne should try it instead

Could it be that when shardmetals are broken down to to their most base state and their elemental “atom” is split somehow, we are left with a small amount of Adonalsium dust? Or the building blocks to create it?
-
Good point, although it seems to me that autonomy and harmony could be fairly polarizing intents…
-
“Trellium has a repulsing effect on other forms of Investiture” … Autonomy confirmed?
-
I feel like VenDell is a red herring. We are getting some subtle weird vibes from him and he went off screen for a bit to talk to Harmony which was suspicious… but I think we are going to be led to think he is a spy or bad guy in some way, only to find out that something else was going on and he was distracting us from that. Of course I could be totally wrong haha

Are we sure Trell is a Shard of Adolalsium?
CognitiveShadow replied to Storyspren's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Yeah you are both right, no way it could actually be dalinar (at least not in a way we would be finding out in TLM. Although I do lean further and further towards SA5 going very badly for the good guys in the end, maybe not a total defeat (like maybe they find some way out of the fully worst possible scenario after losing) but I don’t think they will come out on top -

CognitiveShadow replied to Storyspren's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Assuming that Odium doesn’t win the contest of champions… maybe Trell is Dalinar Kholin sent out to do the bidding of Odium after losing the contest of champions in SA5 -
It’s a popular belief that Autonomy has problems with shards that co-inhabit the same worlds/areas. (I believe there are WoBs about her helping odium with some stuff in that regard) She could have a big problem with two shards being taken up by the same vessel or something? I also could see Harmony and Autonomy being “opposites” in a similar way that ruin and preservation are opposites- Harmony is about peacefully coexisting together, autonomy is about doing your own thing whether others like it or not
-
Great points all around! If nothing else, you’ve both given me plenty to think about while I wait for The Lost Metal to come out haha I’ve been trying to find ways to distract myself for weeks.

New shard theory! Haha I need more AI analysis asap. This may be how we crack the code of the cosmere lol

One last thought- now that I’m further along in my re-read, it’s fairly obvious I was wrong to assume Kelsier was using emotional allomancy- when we see Kelsier using it, it is very very obvious. I forgot he wasn’t super skilled in that area haha
-
Haha that’s a good point! Yeah it’s tough to know when/if it is happening, I keep going back and forth on whether I’d actually like it if Kelsier was using emotional allomancy at that point. I think I’m leaning towards he probably wasn’t and is just an intense person. Hah plus it definitely plays into the relationship and expectations between the classes that it has such an affect
