  1. So, after the cliffhanger from chapter 13 tells us that Trellium and Harmonium are “reacting”, I had an idea. If Trell is Autonomy, would Trellium cause Harmonium to divide and become “autonomous”? And therefore give you atium and lerasium again??
  2. I’d just like to call out how perfect it was that Wayne didn’t quite reach his lucky hat on the way to his discussion with Melaan. What a reference to his earlier comment to Marasi about making sure you don’t wear your lucky hat into a bad situation so you can make sure it stays lucky. Heartbreaking but perfectly executed.
  3. Unless in SA5 Taravodium ends up winning the contest of Champions and Dalinar is forced to do T’s bidding. That could be what the men of red and gold are - surgebinders / knights radiant who are bound by oaths to serve T. Maybe he sends them out as a workaround for being still bound in Roshar due to the Rayse’s agreement.
  4. I like that, good call! I suppose if the person is aware of the way they are perceived by the masses that might have an effect as well. I don’t really know any celebrities but there is definitely a “persona” or perception that I have in my head with most of them, I wonder how often they live up to that simply because it is more work to try and prove people wrong? Just random thoughts haha
  5. Yeah I suppose that makes sense, hard not to overthink these things when you come across something new lol thanks
  6. This is all super interesting! Makes me wonder.. Is one of Kelsier’s goals to find and steal this shard? (or con the vessel into passing it on to him for their own sake of safety and survival?)
  7. The real question is - is it really Kelsier that gets the bad rap?
  8. Whoah this is so cool I never knew this! That’s a cool connection about the lighthouse guy! This also makes the mistborn secret history comments make more sense to me: So when they go into the pool, are they losing their tie to the physical realm and becoming true cognitive shadows, or are they merely using the shard pool / perpendicularity as an entrance to the cognitive realm? Can they go back? My guess is that they can’t go back based on the info in the spoiler section above.
  9. While thinking a lot about Spren lately, it’s got me wondering if there’s not some applicable truths to the real world about Spren (and cognitive shadows) being shaped/influenced by the perception of others. I have heard a quote or two that go something like “people will often live up or down to what your expectations are of them”. The idea being that if we raise our expectations of others then we will likely interact differently with them, which in turn motivates them to live up to that expectation. Or it could go the other way. This seems pretty similar to the way that expectations, perception, etc. help to influence and shape how Spren and Cognitive Shadows behave, think, and likely feel. In a larger sense, if more and more people hold the same beliefs or expectations about someone, does that have a similar effect as it would with Spren? If this is a real thing, is it also proportional and affected by quantity? Let me know what you think or if you have other interesting thoughts on the universe
  10. All good thoughts!
  11. To clarify the question for anyone from Roshar- “turning them into something of a chicken inquisitor”
  12. I think this is great, I have also wondered about what Hoid is trying to do and it seems totally possible that he is trying to unbreak and reforge Ado. I don’t know the mechanics of how one does that, but he does seem to be building connections (capital C?) through learning the different magic systems and obtaining abilities to use them… would be interesting if he started killing all the vessels now haha
  13. JK just finished reading through the coppermind on Ashyn and it’s not like avatar haha it’s a disease based magic system which is pretty cool. But regardless- no idea what the burning planet is in reference to… a real big fever ?
  14. Yeah maybe the Ashlyn surges are more like controlling the elements like avatar the last airbender haha I don’t think we’ve seen an elemental magic from Brandon really have we?
  15. @Invocation thanks for the response! This is very helpful! And no I haven’t looked at coppermind yet haha totally should have gone there first. Thanks again!
  16. So what do we actually know about what went down in Ashyn? All Stormlight Archive spoilers: Feel free to let me know if I just need to re-read SA to refresh my brain on the details haha
  17. This is an interesting question, have you read Sixth of the Dusk? If you haven't that would be a good place to start since there is some info on aviaries in that novella. Otherwise I have a couple of thoughts but don't want to accidentally spoil anything for you if you haven't read SotD
  18. So I’ve read it all and I’ve listened to the podcasts and I’m trying to find new things to theorize and ponder on. Hit me with your favorite and/or craziest theories that have you excited right now! I’m looking for a new rabbit hole to explore while I wait for the new Wax and Wayne book to come out haha any and all spoilers welcome! Pretty sure I’ve read everything Cosmere related at this point so if I don’t know it already it’s my own fault for not paying close enough attention lol
  19. The question is… did you actually misread that or did Ruin change it so we wouldn’t find out about the inquisitor children??????
  20. Accidentally posted the same thing twice.
  21. Yeah, I mean he/ the Ghost Bloods are trying to find ways to move stormlight off of Roshar - could be that if he can fine a way to invest himself with stormlight he will be less Connected to Scadrial slightly and able to leave, even if only to Roshar
  22. He hasn't left Scadrial yet I don't think. He has to use things like the seon as an avatar to visit other places. But if there was a way for him to bond with someone on Roshar, maybe that would give him enough Connection to go there and leave Scadrial?
  23. It's a fun idea, curious what all the qualifiers are for someone to be able to be bonded. Like does it have to be a specific type of cognitive shadow? Is there a point in the development of a cognitive shadow where they hit a specific degree of similarity to spren, and only at that degree could this type of bond take place? How does having a physical body play into it? would Kelsier have to disconnect from the physical body in order to form the bond? I could see him being willing to do it as a way to build connection to another realm - maybe he bonds with Mraize or other Rosharan Ghost Bloods as a first step to getting off of Scadrial?
  24. That’s a good question - no idea to be honest, but I don’t know why not? Maybe it’d be trickier for a Kandra being from Scadrial and whatnot, but a sleepless… could be interesting!
  25. I love it. I don’t think Kelsier would know what to do with that situation.
