  1. This seems to fit with some WOBs that I have read recently. I think it's a good theory! It makes sense that there would be ways for different magic systems to overlap like this.
  2. I don't know if this has been mentioned before, but my random Sanderson thought of the day was about Renarin. In Way Of Kings, it was always being stated that Renarin should become a Stormwarden. Stormwardens are the only people in Vorin culture who are allowed to tell the future, even just the little bit that they do. My thought was that this was totally foreshadowing for Renarin's arc where he becomes an enlightened Truthwatcher and can tell the future. Thoughts? If this has already been discussed before, just point me in the right direction!
  3. YKYASFW you're in English class and scoffing at all of the examples the teacher gives for foreshadowing because Brandon is the king of foreshadowing.
  4. Oh, I didn't think of the idea of enlightened Abrasion. That makes a lot of sense. I like the idea that an enlightened surge turns the surge from external to internal.
  5. Yes. Language in general is fascinating. Which makes me admire Brandon more when he comes up with words and names out of his head. Haha. I guess when this is my first thought, I know I'm a sanderfan.
  6. YKYASFW Someone points out that English just stole most of its words from other languages and your first thought is "Oh! Wayne should speak English instead of Scadrian because he likes stealing language/accents!" This actually just happened. I only barely stopped myself from pointing it out out loud. (The other person in question is not a Sanderfan and so would not appreciate my wonderful references)
  7. I have always thought that Lirin was meant for more than just Kaladin's slightly jerky father. I think that both Edgedancer and Windrunner would work for him, he has several qualities of both. Edgedancer seems like the more likely option to me, mostly because the only "foreshadowing" I have seen for Lirin becoming a windrunner wouldn't be possible. Sadly, Syl (or any other Spren) becoming a surgical tool would not be effective as Shardblades can't cut flesh. I agree that Lirin does always keep his oaths, but that can be a quality of any radiant order except maybe Lightweavers. My reason for thinking that Lirin would be an Edgedancer are as @bmcclure7 said, he does a wonderful job of remembering those who were forgotten I feel like Lirin becoming a windrunner, even one that doesn't go into battle, would be like accepting the Kaladin was right all along. Lirin following in Kal's footsteps seems wrong to me. Lirin loves to heal people. Coincidentally, one of the Edgedancer surges is Progression. An Edgedancer with actual surgeon's knowledge hasn't been seen yet, and I think that Lirin with this ability would become the perfect surgeon. Anybody who is hurt could come to him; he would use stormlight to heal major wounds, but could also use his surgeon's knowledge to heal any injuries too small or too old for stormlight. This doesn't really apply, but I was thinking about how the other Edgedancer surge is Abrasion. There has always been friction between Kaladin and his father, so just the idea that Lirin becoming a radiant would help him to remove friction makes me absurdly happy.
  8. I personally like Stars best, ( from Steelheart) but storms is close.
  9. During my second reread of Mistborn (a few years ago) I had a sudden realization that Kelsier was not infact 18 to 20, but 30 to 40. I had somehow missed that the first two times.
  10. Oooh I like that theory, respectably pertaining to Breaths. I won't soul anything for you, bit I think that's possible!
  11. I'd visit Roshar. I think it would be fascinating to see it because it's so different from Earth. I'd love to experience a highstorm (inside of course). Also, I think Fabrials are some of the most fascinating things on the cosmere. On a different note, the characters from Roshar would be the most fun for me to meet because they have such interesting arcs.
  12. Personally, I think that a cognitive shadow is an imprint, or a shadow, of your "soul", or innate personality. In other words, a cognitive shadow is not a new you, or a new construction of you, but it is also not really "you". It's the thoughts, beliefs, and ideologies that make up the way you and others think of you. This fits with the idea of the cognitive realm being about how others perceive you (spren that change with how people think about them) In summary, your cognitive shadow, or the imprint left by your soul, is the the sum of how you are yourself and how others are you. Of course, this just my opinion, which fits with my personal beliefs.
  13. Cool. You did better than I would have! I'm a much better author than artist
  14. Nice, they all look great! My personal favorites are fuzzy and compass
  15. I think I would be in a world where I have unlimited time and no responsibilities. I can just do whatever I want. Unlimited money would be great to... Not because I want a lot of money, I'd just like to have an easy life where I can write books like Brandon and relax all day. Writing and reading... Maybe the MCU too.
  16. Slightly off topic, but has anyone else noticed that the second, third, and fourth windrunner oaths follow the pattern of the first oath? Life before death: I will protect those who cannot protect themselves. I will save lives, saving lives before they die. Strength before weakness: I will protect those I hate so long as it is right. I will protect people who I hate and be strong, not weak and hateful Journey before destination: I accept that there were those who I could not protect. There is a journey to protecting; those who died do not end my journey, they are not the destination. I didn't perfectly explain it, but it seems to me like the fifth oath would sum up the rest of the oaths and apply to all parts of the first one.
  17. Personally, I think that Kelsier would make a wonderful Willshaper. He seems like the type to seek freedom. He could also be a Lightweaver though... He has plenty of secrets. To me, he could never fit in the Skybreaker or Dustbringer orders.
  18. Hi, I'd like to join! What is everyone's favorite books? Besides Brandon ones
  19. Hi, I am a girl too. This is a great idea! BTW, did anyone here have any book recommendations? I'm collecting a list.
  20. IV got a few more years. Judging be the ages at the beginning of this form, I think I might be the youngest! (Unless there's anyone new who's under 14)
  21. Help, welcome to the shard!

  22. YKYASFW you are disappointed to change seats in school before you realize that you are now sitting by two people who are also both sanderfans. Cue the incessant talking and getting absolutely no work done. Also when you meet someone who is also a sanderfan and instantly start trying to impress them with your knowledge of modern relative theory and cosmere theology. Also when someone asks what your favorite religion is and your mind immediately goes to either Vorinism or Survivorism
  23. Mistborn. The have more abilities, and are therefore more versatile.
