You're forgetting about the Southern Scadralans. For all we know, the entire second trilogy might take place there and who knows what kind of kooky things they've been up to.
-
As others stated ITT, you may get an RAFO or a short answer. I ordered a copy of AoL and asked something about the Southern Scadralans, and received an adequate answer. Be careful with what you wish to ask as the field given for personalized questions in your book order is somewhat small.

So it is basically charisma? Interesting. That would certainly be powerful and extremely tough to balance.- 22 replies

That's really interesting. That fact that he specifically says "planet" makes me think it's something to do with transition/bleed between planets, through Shadesmar I'd guess.
-
That only really matters if two planets are interacting with each other which isn't exactly happening yet. We might see usage of subjective shiptime if we're lucky.
-
Yeah, I would imagine that the Cosmere has its own form of cryo-freezing for long travels.
-
Interesting. This kind of supports my mild theory that short story... stories will be based upon worlds that have more of a 'God Beyond' influence than one from Adonalsium.

So are Threnody and First of the Sun not considered part of /THE/ ten ~mysterious~ core Shardworlds?

Question about khriss (answered by Brandon)
Asperity replied to Zaineph's topic in Cosmere Discussion
This whole time, I thought Khriss was the most Cosmere-aware. Maybe it's Frost then? Does Frost ring a bell, OP? Frost is the dragon. -

I hope we can leave this thread up for a long time. For people like me who do not visit this site regularly, like me, I miss out of a lot of new information reveals through Q&As, interviews, and the like since trawling through the Events sub-forum is tedious and the board is a bit convoluted. This thread is one of the best features on the website. Yep. It was confirmed in WoR that Braize is Damnation. I believe I was the first one to point that out as well which is odd because I miss a lot of stuff that other people catch.

Besides Dominion and Devotion, what other Shards has Odium Shattered? If he did not Shatter any directly, which other Shard Shatterings has he been involved in? Stealth edit: Add Honor to that list.

Of course I'm crazy late to this. Urgh. I thought that was Khriss.

I know a necrophiliac online and from what little I know of the science involved (and can remember from her personal anecdotes), fingers can also get the job done thanks to rigor mortis.

I finally got around to reading this today. Sad that I missed the discussion but maybe I can offer something new. I don't know. For starters, I thought that the story was advanced in the Cosmere chronology and was happy to see that confirmed in the other thread by WoB. Like some others mentioned, I have a feeling that the lake on Patji /could/ be a Shardpool. It could explain the "minds are hidden here but we don't know why" occurrence and could be a reason why the symbionts spawn there, of all places. Also, Patji is the largest island in the Pantheon so I suppose it could make sense for a Shardpool to be located there? Last, and I'm surprised nobody else had this theory, but I don't believe the Ones Above are Scadrians at all. Or Nalthians. Or affiliated with major Shardworlds as we know. I think they may be affiliated with the God Beyond. It would also explain why the Ones Above are attempting to research the Aviars since the symbionts (which they would quickly find out about) seem to be an affect of Investiture and it could be related to 'The Plan'. I have an inkling that the stand-alone novellas will feature Shardworlds that have more involvement from the opposition so I suppose I won't really find out if this is true or not until Silence Divine is finished. The meta seems to be heading towards a possible Adonalsium & Friends vs. the God Beyond & Friends climax. Obviously, this is only one such possibility as we seem to not be able to predict Brandon well (which is a good thing) but I don't believe the God Beyond faction is necessarily malevolent.

The meta is the Cosmere. Hard/normal sci-fi was already explained so I won't elaborate on that one.

where can I find all the Cosmere short stories?
Asperity replied to navybrandt's topic in General Brandon Discussion
You can find the anthologies on #bookz if you're fine with reading on your monitor or an e-book.That's how I was able to read them. I'm poor and am not going to spend money on an anthology when I personally only care to read one story out of it but I also already own the Mistborn trilogy, signed AoL hardcover, Warbreaker, and both SA hardcovers so I've definitely placed Invested currency into the main Cosmere stories. -
Does The Hero of Ages Give Us a Clue About Cultivation?
Asperity replied to teknopathetic's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I wonder how significant Shardpools are in the greater Cosmere. Do we know if every Shard has a Shardpool? -
That's one thing I greatly enjoy about the Shards. They are the most extreme form of an emotion, and that would include both negative and positive aspects resulting, not a one-sided view.
-
As the meta progresses and once we eventually learn all of the Shard names, will the meta incorporate emotion/traits significantly into the story? Will future Mistborn be hard sci-fi or normal sci-fi? I made a thread about this in another board a month or three ago and just now realized how it should have been articulated. I suspect it will be hard sci-fi since the Cosmere has its own modifications towards physics that need to be explained (like FTL travel) but I also have a preference for hard sci-fi so it would be very nice.

Did Andonalsium Shatter Itself Intentionally?
Asperity replied to The Shadow's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Seems like an Omega Point related theory which is an interesting concept. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Omega_Point http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/God%27s_Debris related to above. -
Very late but I finally read this yesterday. I liked all of the 'lore' about the God Beyond and Evil and whatnot. I keep imagining the God Beyond as related to whatever the weapon made to oppose Adonalsium is, if not the very 'weapon' itself. I think that the few mentions of 'the Plan' were intriguing. Perhaps the God Beyond's humans are being built up to survive or inhabit dangerous Shardworlds, maybe so they become acquainted with the various dangers that come along with Adonalsium's touch. But while Threnody is a Shardworld, albeit minor, I feel as if we got a glimpse of life from the God Beyond's side. Do we know where this story took place in the chronology?
