  1. That's a good theory. I didn't really think about the implications of Moash using Stormlight rather than Voidlight, but that makes sense.
  2. Will Navani be able to open a perpendicularity? (This one is probably RAFO.)
  3. You just blew my mind, Karger. That makes me appreciate her character even more. I honestly didn't think much of it; but it was interesting to see how it did play out.
  4. I really love this. I dabble in theoretical physics, and it blows my mind when Brandon includes details that were obviously inspired by it. I loved how deep Navani's POV went into the mechanics of real science and the cosmere-version. No deep insights, but I really loved this.
  5. I was expecting something serious, but even so that made me smile.
  6. Dawnshard spoilers below. I like this theory, despite some of the issues with it. Here's my crack at solving them. We know that at least part of Tanavast's cognitive shadow merged with the Stormfather. (This might not actually be cannon.) What if the same happened with Adonalsium and Hoid? Perhaps Hoid was an ordinary person before the Shattering, but was fused with Adonalsium's cognitive shadow? There's absolutely no evidence for this theory, but it sounds cool.
  7. Add that to contradictory endings I want to happen to Kaladin.
  8. Okay, now I have to theorize. I don't think that we could enumerate all or even most of the Seon-bond powers- at the very least, not without knowing a lot more about Selian shards. (I haven't read the Emperor's Soul, by the way.) However, I think we might be able to pin one or two based on the pattern Brandon is establishing with Adhesion. Adhesion is the surge "closest to Honor"; and while I don't think this is cannon, Progression seems awfully Cultivation-y. So I would guess that a Seon-bond would provide a power close to either Dominion or Devotion, or both. I think the easiest way to pin a surge like this would be to examine the Spiritual application of it. After all, sticking one-armed Herdazians to walls doesn't exactly scream "Honor", but Adhesion as used by Dalinar is clearly Honor-related. We haven't seen many Spiritually-applied surges besides Adhesion, so it might be difficult to extrapolate a Devotion- or Dominion-based surge. However, here's a swing at it. The D-surge (I know, it's a terrible name) might enable you to spiritually Dominate someone or something. The other option would be spiritually Devoting yourself to someone/something, which doesn't seem useful (maybe they're Devoting themselves to you?). I'm not sure what the physical application of this would be. Maybe you can convince animals/objects/spren to obey you? Sorry for derailing this thread. This is fascinating to me, and you could take a million angles in theorizing on this (are there different kinds of Seons? How many surges might they grant? Would their powers look similar to the magic systems on Sel?). Anyways.
  9. This is not quite an answer... during my re-read, I noticed that there are a few other humans who are getting "close". I'm referencing the farmers pounding the drums to the rhythms to grow food in Urithiru. Rlain said that some of them seemed to be getting close to the rhythms, maybe even almost hearing them.
  10. The next Cosmere reveal is that Zane was alive all along .
  11. I had a very similar theory I thought of as "Radiant Maya". I'd like to see something like this.
  12. I... never connected those two Kaladin ancestry theories before. Thanks for pointing that out.
  13. This reminds me of what's going through Sja Anat's head. Since we keep hearing threats of "another recreance", I wonder if that means something. (My thoughts aren't very cohesive though.)
  14. Ishar: *Dissects physical spren bodies* Half the 17th Shard: This was the most horrifying scene in the book. The other half of the shard: Syladdin is back on, ya'll. No offense to anyone
  15. What would happen if Szeth went to the Cognitive Realm (because of his weird re-attached soul)?
  16. I assumed this as well. My reasoning for why Adolin could see an afterimage was that, since all spren seen to have larger cognitive aspects (gloryspren have the whole bird-body, angerspren are really weird frog-things), the afterimage was just the rest of Gallant's spren. I think @Elithanathile10 's theory has merit, though. CS are often described as "spren" (by Rosharans, who don't really have other terms, but the connection stands). I was surprised that coming to the Cognitive Realm didn't have a debilitating effect on Gallant. I'm not sure why I expected something to go wrong, but it was still interesting. Follow-up question: if Szeth went to the Cognitive Realm, what would happen? (Maybe we could ask Brandon on his SA stream?)
  17. I have been wondering if she can do the perpendicularity. I'd like to see that Shardgun... I'm just here to give my two cents on Kaladin. Nobody here seems to think he'll die, which makes me happy. I want him to survive and become a therapist. Him becoming Honor would be cool (really cool) but I think I just want the catharsis of seeing Kaladin fulfill what I think is his calling. I do expect that he'll swear the fifth ideal. I can't think of any specific evidence for that, but I'd like to see it.
