  1. I read the first story... it put tears in my eyes. Great job.
  2. Welcome! Great to have new people. Which book is your favorite?
  3. Welcome! Glad to have you! I'm new here as well. Brandon Sanderson is also one of my favorite authors (obviously). I have heard about the problems with publishing in Brazil... that sucks. Hopefully it gets better. Do you have a favorite Cosmere book?
  4. Can't say I disagree. Thanks! I'll have to look into that!
  5. Thanks, guys! You people are really welcoming. I think my favorite character is either Marasi or Steris. I like them all, though. Thanks for the encouragement! I have read non-Cosmere. I've read Steelheart and The Rithmatist, and I really enjoyed Skyward and Starsight. Thanks! Good choices. I guess you enjoyed Rhythm of War, then?
  6. I agree. Kaladin is my favorite character, and I personally loved his arc in this book. However, it is getting tiring to watch him getting ground into the floor again and again. Going forward, I hope he does grow into a role of helping and protecting others with mental health issues. The part in Part 2 where he and Teft brought out Noril is one of my favorite scenes. That said, if Kaladin does turn into a therapist, I'm guessing his role in the plot will decrease. The Stormlight Archive is focused on the Desolation and the Contest of Champions (10 days???), so there's less time to watch Kaladin revamp Roshar's approach to psychology. Besides, it would probably be difficult to write a major character that isn't really struggling with anything, especially given the Stormlight Archive's focus on trauma and internal character journeys. Kaladin is a big part of why I love these books, and it make me sad to think his role might decrease. That said, if I had to choose between giving Kaladin a major plot role and getting him to a healthy place, I'd choose his well-being.
  7. @Bearer of all agonies Thanks! My favorite Cosmere book is the Way of Kings, although I'm really enjoying Mistborn Era II as well. What about you?
  8. Hello, humans! (And spren, singers, kandra, Sho Del and dragons.) After lurking for a while, I finally joined the forums. I've been a Stormlight fan for a couple years, and over the past year I read almost the whole Cosmere. I'm a big fan of these books, and I guess a Stormlight release is a great time to join the community. I'm not very skilled at online communities, but I'm excited to be here.
