  1. I really don’t think Allomancy ties as much into Fabrials as people think. We know of two metals that have some Allomantic-like effects, and they only work on Spren trapped inside gemstones. Just because we have seen two metals the are similar to Allomancy doesn’t mean all of them are.
  2. Venli describes the Thunderclast’s souls as twisted and barely recognizable as Singer. My guess would be that they are similar to the Fused, but different and changed in profound ways.
  3. They are called the Sons of Honor, and not the Sons of the Almighty. I can imagine the leaders of the SoH are more knowledgeable than the typical members.
  4. I didn’t think about that. It does apply to Szeth much more. Still, Shallan using assassination as her first choice is going to have some effect of her mind, especially if she continues to do so.
  5. So, I was reading the Hero of Ages annotations again (because why not?) and I saw this. We may not be seeing the exact same thing here with Shallan, but I definitely am worried. She is considering assassination as a perfectly reasonable and logical solution for her problems, which has to have some effect on her mind.
  6. I know, but that is somewhat hard to tell on dark obsidian. It seemed like an artistic rendition of a Breath aura to me. Regardless Adolin doesn’t have any Breath. It would be an interesting plot device if he did though.
  7. Mental metals will probably be the only ones used in Fabrials, I agree. Beyond brass and zinc, for scaling up and down power, you have other metals for range, specifics (like in an alerter Fabrial), and pairing distance (conjoiners). I think we will see some similarities with metal type, but we shouldn’t focus on it. I doubt it. Isn’t metal still invested even if it isn’t Allomantic?
  8. I wonder what Nale thinks about this.
  9. Maybe groundspren/gravityspren? Perhaps bindspren from when Kaladin uses Adhesion?
  10. Say you have a heating augmentation Fabrial. The Flamespren is in the gemstone, and that is what makes the Fabrial produce the heat. The metal type(s) determine the strength of the heat and the range of the heat. It is the same with attractors, pairings, alerters...you just change the variables. The Spren provides the power, but the metal regulates it.
  11. Honestly I don’t think Fabrials will mirror Allomancy or Feruchemy. All of the known Fabrials operate differently than Allomancy. The metals we know work with Fabrials only affect the Spren. What seems likely is that the Spren determines that the Fabrial works, and what it does in general. Then the metal gets down to the specifics, like range, strength, distance, and so on.
  12. Alerter Fabrials seem to be able to choose different ranges and objects/sensations. Perhaps metal type dictates that? Zinc and brass for range, but metal type, or combination of metal types, chooses the target?
  13. Notably, the metals don’t make the Fabrial manifest in different ways. They just make the Fabrial stronger or weaker.
  14. Yeah, I’m always getting pushes and pulls wrong.
  15. Zinc and brass are the mental external metals. Zinc pushes emotions down, while brass enflames them. Same as Fabrials...is bronze used for seeking Fabrials, perhaps?
  16. Finally, Shallan is acting against the Ghostbloods! What secrets does Ialai’s room hold?
  17. Isn’t lasting Integrity the Honorspren capital? Their capital could be a tower, somewhat like Urithiru, but I certainly think it would at least have windows or an entrance. It is described as a grand city, and this obsidian slate we are seeing isn’t very grand, besides the massive scale.
  18. That tower is an odd feature. It could be a fortress or a prison. The lack of a visible entrance is strange. Perhaps it is only partially finished?
  19. Dawnshard? Something Lashed hundreds of times? A ridiculously large Thunderclast?
  20. I think the white hair is either an illusion or artistic license.
  21. @SteelShaper I think Adolin gains Breath from a Worldhopper for whatever reason. What we see bellow Adolin is a Breath aura. The two known Awakened Swords have either no aura (Azure’s blade) or deepen colors (Nightblood). Adolin’s aura is neither of those.
  22. Shadesmar flora or some kind of Spren would be my guess.
  23. It could be possible that the light bellow Adolin is some kind of Spren, or the effect of some kind of Spren. However, I still think it is Breath.
  24. What I’m saying is that Adolin may have gained some Breaths somehow, possibly to the 3rd or 4th, maybe even 5th Heightening. That would explain his aura of color.
  25. Only people from Nalthis have Breath, so I don’t think the Fused would. Adolin could have gotten it from a Worldhopper somehow.
