  1. Kaladin had depression in the Way of Kings, but he got over it with an objective. Same as in Oathbringer. Both times, he got his objective quickly after the depression came in and completed it by the end of the book. I believe we will see the same thing here. All we have are 10 chapters, after all.
  2. No. He does not. He also has insomnia.
  3. Exactly. There may be some similarities, but many metals may not have correlations with Allomancy.
  4. I really don’t think that Fabrials are tapping into any source of power. The metals just regulate the effect. The Spren imprisioned in the gemstone provides the power, and the metals modify it. Just like how Preservation provides the power for Allomancy, and the metal type regulates what kind of power comes out.
  5. But why would Dalinar send a depressed, emotionally wounded highmarshal into Shadesmar? Kaladin is still useful to train troops and inspire soldiers.
  6. What does everyone think Kaladin is going to do during the book? He has to progress towards the 4th ideal, so what is he going to do?
  7. I agree. The Spren is just refusing to even consider Rlain as an option. All Kaladin did was order the Spren to go talk to Rlain and see that Rlain isn’t an enemy.
  8. Exactly. Steel and iron somehow change if tin or pewter are affecting the Fabrial. This wouldn’t be necessary if you only had one, of course.
  9. I really think that Kaladin will be given a mission. I feel like, after part two, he will have healed a bit and be ready to fight, although not constantly. Perhaps a solo mission, with him only having to protect himself?
  10. Yeah, but not as a mechanism. Rather, you have both tin and pewter connected to the Fabrial, and steel and iron change them magically. The word touching in the sentence would mean affecting. Perhaps this works with zinc and brass as well. Edit: does Dalinar worship the God Beyond now?
  11. Well, steel and iron polarize? Tin diminishes, not too surprising. But steel and iron?
  12. I read Oathbringer first, and I can’t say I was very confused. You could read Oathbringer first, then read Warbreaker with Oathbringer at your side to check out some of the easter eggs.
  13. I’m reading them so we can theorize on everything we read, then see how wrong we were when the book finally comes out.
  14. I read Oathbringer before Warbreaker, so when I first read about Nightblood in the prologue, I was shocked. I kind of had some knowledge of the cosmere at that point, but this basically made me fully aware.
  15. I personally think it means “you (a Bondsmith) hurt (broke their oaths with the Sibling prior to the Recreance) them (the Sibling) enough.”
  16. You could maybe even use augmenting Fabrials to generate lightening, if they do more than just augment. Kind of like the offensive Painrial.
  17. Yeah, then a repulsion Fabrial to shoot it away.
  18. Edgedancer was supposed to be smaller, I think. Perhaps Brandon will try to downsize this one.
  19. And now I have an idea for a Fabrial that shoots lighting.
  20. There have to be dozens of god metal and regular metal alloys possible. I can’t image all of them can be used for Fabrials or have effects other than the effects that normal metals have.
  21. And we saw Radiants use them. I can’t imagine why Radiants would use trapped space to spren, at least some of the orders wouldn’t.
  22. It could an Amian like Aries trying to support spren rights. It could also be a sleepless trying to prevent dangerous technological advances. I like both of the theories I heard, but I ultimately voted for Sja-Anat.
  23. But why would a Sleepless care about Fabrials?
  24. Well, Radinet spren inside surge Fabrials confirmed. And there are both shards and soulcasters hidden in Aimia? Interesting.
  25. I took it to mean “you (a Bondsmith) hurt (broke an oath with the Sibling a bit of time before the Recreance) them (the Sibling) enough.”
