Kaladin absorbed (or rather was given) power/Investiture other than standard Stormlight. He even mentioned later: "He (Odium) wants me". Yes, he want to die there. Moash knew that too, he even call it loud. Kaladin lose if he give up (to Odium or to live) but he cant have reason to fight, because he will be fighting - Kaladin is not man who willingly let other pierce him with the spear. And because Odium wants him, he would not let him die and will give him powers and will riot his survival instinct, when he is fighting, but cant controll him directly, so cant interfere if he would kill himself.

I would laugh out lout at all theorethists here, if it turned out that Kelsier simply were given new, good proper body by Harmony, and was sent by him to the South to save Southerners (differently, to compare how this would work).

What's Your Bad Pitch For The Ending Of The Stormlight Archive?
Bzhydack replied to Bacon's topic in Stormlight Archive
This is not bad pitch. This is how it should be. -
I think there is very easy explanation. Moash is practicly directly connected to Odium. And thanks to this he knows Odium wants to Kaladin alive (for some reason) and will activly protect Kaladin.

What will be the main conflict of the last Cosmere novel?
Bzhydack replied to Vin(Diesel)'s topic in Cosmere Discussion
All of that, but without first and second sentence. I think Shards would be less physicaly involved in later stages of Cosmere, and this would leave just Imperium vs Imperium antagonisms, with wide Physical Realm Planetary Scadrian Empire with its colonies on planets and mining facilities on planetoids and asteroid belts, (I also think Nalthis will be allied with Scadrial) more mixed Cognitive-Physical Rosharan Empire, and Sel and Taldain as neutral powers. -
Dont think it would matter from who is Spike. Hemalurgy uses Ruins own Investiture to rip off stuff, store and place. So I would tell that no matter what is stored in Spike and from, it would decay the same, because is already converted into Ruins system.

We dont have any possibility to know that, we can only guess.

Exactly. So Ishar was on Ashyn as Strong (or maybe even stronger) as he is now. Not weaker. Wait few days. I have idea about previous Ashynite Magic System.

Fro what weve seen Feruchemists can store very fast. Basicly they think and they store. Feruchemy is probably the most instinctive magic in Cosmere. Feruchemist can have many metalminds, as well as pieces of metal ready to be metalminds. Dawnshards were desribed as "ancient weapons used to destroy Tranquiline Halls". Preaty straightforward to me. Bindpoints? We need to know only one - heart. And stealing Bond automaticaly ended your aboility to Bondsmithing AND increased healing. Bondsmith dont have Shards, so...

Probably yes, identification should be possible, Kandra's soul is different from human soul. Im sceptical only about soulcssting spikes, they are Invested so this can be little more dificult. I have a feeling that medalions granting A-Aluminum could become very popular....

Its not about "overpowering" Bondsmith powers. Duralumin Compounder is not stronger than Bondsmith, I never said that. Its about "re-directing" Bondsmith powers directed at Compounder. Power levels never decided about victory in Cosmere, this is not DragonBall. NightBlood is weaker (less-Invested) than Vessel, but can destroy him. Kelsier was not as powerfull as Inquisitor, but he killed him. Its how some abilities interact with each other - Aluminum Gnat is basicly powerless in comparison to Elsecaller, but counters one of his ability (Transformation) preaty hard. And looking this way Connector Ferring counters Bondsmith preaty hard too - because can simply store any of unwanted Connection in metalmind, if he of course have them. Connection doesnt upply to the physical forces, but for the second part - probably yes, preaty much. I know they call it that way. But still what Aliik said later, contradicts this. Connection always is to something, so if you dont have Identity, you still would have Connection to Cosmere (and it would Connect you to the part of Cosmere you currently are in). Also, if you cant store all your Atribute, how you can make Identity-less metalminds? To make them, you NEED TO store ALL Identity. Books before Wobs, Frustration. Nothing short of UNCHAINED Bondsmith ;-) First, to burn world you need Bondsmith and something in addition, Bondsmith alone is not enough. Dawnshard for sure. Second, as earlier mentioned, this is not about raw power, is about how powers interact. Duralumin Compounder is not stronger then Bondsmith, is much more limited - but what he have is enough to make Bondsmith partialy unfunctional. Third, their abilities ARE easy to steal. With Hemalurgy. When Marasi taped Bands, she literaly started glowing and emit Mists - waht is basicly equivalent of semi-opened Perpendicularity. Cohesion cant explode stuff, is manipulation on the level of atoms, not subatomic. But this could work maybe with Elsecaller or Lightweaver. But still, this has to be surprise attack, if Fullborn would be able to shild himself with speedbubble he would be able to run and heal.

Disagree. This is exactly how storing Connections works - just store 100% of Connection and you dont have it. Dont need to be permanent. Just long enough until Bonsmith would be dead. It make sense for me. From reader point of view, it should be something able to counter Bondsmith powers. And Duralumin Compounder seems to be literally designed to do exactly this. There is no such thing as "Blank Connection". Never. Question is, what is cause, and what effect? And can be cause and effect tricked, as sometimes happeend with humans? Oaths are supose to reflect progress and caused with stronger Bond, but can we switch cause and effect and force swearing Oaths by tricking "system" with very strong Bond to Spren? This is very interesting question...

There is no such thing as blank Connection, Connection is always to something. And work both ways. Everyone is making new Connections ;-) Literally in moment you see something, you are making Connection to this thing. No matter how small it is. So in this way, yes, he can - strenghten Connection from negligible to relevant. Or even super-powerfull. We were talking about Connection between Fullborn and his metalminds. And every Connection witch is involving Fullborn himself, he can manipulate. So why Ishar was able to steal it, then? He can "only" manipulate Connections. And yes, I also think that Nahel Bond is more Connection-Identity merged spiritual thing, but still Connection is very important part of it. Is not about attacking Bondsmith with Connection manipulation, is more about defending himself. And FUllborn should be able to negate all wierd Connection stuff what Bondsmith can throw at him, by remaking wanted or cuting unwanted Connections. Im not talking it would be easy. But I think it is possible, especially for Compounder. If Spren would find himself suddenly very VERY closly Connected to Fullborn maybe he could simply speedrun throu Oaths and became 5th level Radiant himself. As we know, you dont need to know Oaths before swearing them. Also, if you can become Shard Vessel by simply Connecting to the Shard, why not Radiant?

Cannot? You know, talking in language of land youve never been before, or being friend with Kolloss youve (also) never meet before looks to me exactly how "making Connections" should look like. And this is just normal Connector Ferring stuff, not even compounder. Connection work both ways, you know. BTW, Connector is not good name for this awsome power.

But I need to remind you that Fullborn also have Connection Manipulation Powers in some degree. Im almost sure he should be able to restore Connection to his metalminds pretty quicly. And what if he Connects himself to the Spren stronger than Radinat is Connected? Can he became Radiant himself?

It is very plausible assuption, i think. Considering fact that Feruchemy is very dependent on basic atribute in almost all other cases, as well as is multiplicative. For example, Feruchemist with weight of 100kg when storing 50kg/s would store 50% of his weight, but if he would have weight 75kg, to store 50k/s he would need to store 66% of weight, and overall effect during taping would be smaller - because he would gain 75+50kg, while Feruchemist with weight 100kg would gain 100+50 kg. This is not an issue now, because every Feruchemist stores/taps for himself, but with Identity-les Metalminds this may generate intersting actions. So yes, this probably how thus should work.

(Theory) How FTL travel will work in the Cosmere
Bzhydack replied to cpw2007's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Yep, this is primar idea about scadrian FTL drive. More even, not one but many Bubbles staced. -

Both Shardblade and Shardplate dont manifest in Shadesmar as weapons, they are in physical Spren form. Eeee, this Light Reservoir in Lasting Integrity looks to me Selish in origin. So Sel already surpasses Roshar in Investiture transporting technology. Dont know. Maybe something around agresive trading company like Dutch East India Company on intergalacric scale. -

Funny, but this is exactly how I imagine Rosharan cosmic transport. As giant planetary Oathgates for whole fleets, what would give them possibility to controll over few systems, but because of limitations of their standard Lashing-based drives they would be limited to only systems with good Cognitive Realm presence. Scadrians, on the other hand, would have more classic FTL Drive on their ships, based on Compounded Steel on close ranges and Speed Bubbles on long ranges, and this would give them controll over more wide teritory. We dont even know how (or if) Scadrians are able to go into Cognitive, outside the Perpendicularity(ies?). -
Magic worked differently on Ashyn when Heralds where there. In fact, you dont even need microscope to tell apart blood types.

Of course. But if humans know about something at least some of them wants to see this. And considering fact that on Roshar cuting glass, crystals and gems is quite important, they also have prisms, so they probably have lenses, mirrors and everything needet for microscope.

4 standard (A, B, AB, 0) + Rh factor (+/-) are the only ones that mainly matters. But with standard your fasion, you just cling to details, but miss the point of example. BTW, Im not sure Rosharan cant tell apart blood types. They are now experimenting with vaccines, so they should have at least basic knowledge about microorganisms (what is wierd, because they should be more resistant to infections and desiseas) so they have way to observe them.
