  1. He was born in Arelon? I thought he was just staying in Arelon and though he ran caravans between JinDo and Arelon, he wasn't born in Arelon. Edit: I found this in the annotations That seems to support the ancestral genetics theory. It also says you need to be in Arelon in order for the Shaod to transform you into an AonDor user / Elantrian. We don't know the method of Initiation into the other Selish magics, might be from birth but more likely you have to be Initiated, like we've heard of the Dakhor monks, regardless it also supports your idea that it should be possible to access the magic of one's homeland without being born in one's homeland, only the Initiation needs to happen there and you need to have generic ties (globalisation in Sel is going to be interesting)
  2. So no Allomancer Jak or Nicki Sauvage wordcount from the broadsheets either?
  3. There are WoBs on the size of the upcoming Mistborn eras But nothing concrete on PoV distribution but given contextual clues from however many WoBs, the impression I got was that it's going to be primarily from a Scadrian viewpoint but other cultures would also get their perspectives, specially Roshar and Sel
  4. Oh, it never occurred to me whether or not someone born away from their homeland could still be eligible to access its magic, so that's an interesting confirmation, do you mind posting the WoB? Well, borders do matter though, the shape of the land is a symbol that the Selish magics use in their coding, we've got confirmation with AonDor and Forgery. Hmm... I feel like I've seen this discussion happen before... in one of your threads?
  5. In the real world, with price and availability of metals and metalworking, I would choose to be a steel Twinborn Compounder. On Scadrial, I might go for A-steel or brass, and F-Nicrosil or Duralumin
  6. There isn't an article yet? That's strange, they're really good at putting up new pages fast, go talk to a Keeper
  7. It is. Welcome to the Shard
  8. You mean why he Returned? We don't know... Endowment, the Shard on Nalthis is more interested in her own planet
  9. Foil might be the same guy as Xisis
  10. Welcome aboard!
  11. Weeps for his phone is completely out of memory to download any more fanart
  12. Ooooh he looks really foreboding!
  13. Liked, so not Elendel City, it's hated by other cities in the basin Probably not Luthadel either... nor Patji... Urithiru and Elantris have already been guessed... It can't be Hallandren, as the other Nalthian nations around the Inner Sea hate them... it is younger than the other countries, not older... Is it the Rosharan subastral? It's older than some of its neighbouring subastrals, a nexus of travel, it might be liked because it has a lot of power free-flowing through it?
  14. During Hoid's retelling of the story The Dog and the Dragon, he mentioned that the story was originally told to him by a barkeeper at an inn that can only be found by the lost. Is there really an inn like that? Is this just how Hoid chose to add flavour to his story or was this story really told to him by this barkeep? With how the Spiritual and Cognitive Realms work, with how attributes like Connection and Fortune work, with how Visions work... it's actually quite possible that such an inn might actually exist. It was rather suspiciously specific too. Or maybe it was just a normal barkeep who told Hoid a story when he was feeling lost that he's recounting now to Kaladin? I recall that Hoid mentioned that he once shared a drink with Tanavast... What do you think?
  15. Gah, this is cheating! Multiple guesses in one turn!
  16. Everybody's pretty happy with Navani and Raboniel, was anybody else looking forward to Venli researching how to attain the Forms of Power in her flashbacks?
  17. Okay, the Stormwarden part blew my mind. And it fits too! That knowledge must've been how the high-level Sons of Honor managed to create anti-Voidlight.
  18. Yeah but after Rhythm of War, I don't think it's happening
  19. Hmm... I don't see any indication one way or another on whether or not Hoid visited Braize in that dialogue though he certainly seemed to recognize the place. I'm not taking that as an indication that he has visited because he might've had other sources and Rayse wants him dead, so Hoid wouldn't have wanted to visit that place much.
  20. My favourite Stormlight book has always been Way of Kings My least favourite Stormlight book is Words of Radiance, I thought it was a tad too dramatic which took me out of the book far too many times Rhythm of War loses out to Oathbringer but Oathbringer is Oathbringer, so that's not too bad
  21. That's how I read it too and I'd really love it if Maya summoned Adolin as a Blade
  22. Yeah, but the initial part with Jason was nice. I remember he was one of the first gay characters I had read (and liked, side-eyes Magnus & Alec) Renarin's crush... I don't think it's Rushu, we haven't seen anything there. There's not a lot of female characters he's with, so I could see his crush being a guy. Renarin's role has changed a lot from how he was envisioned in Way of Kings Prime too, so that's another thing that increases his chances of being gay.
