I'm about to start crying in public.

Is Adolin Edgedancer material?
Elsecaller_17.5 replied to Shardsplinter's topic in Cosmere Discussion
We know someone can be a candidate for multiple orders and by the WoB further up he is absolutely a candidate for Edgedancer. Personality wise, 8 think he would make a better Stoneward. Story wise, given his relationship with Maya if he becomes Radient he will certainly be a Edgedancer. -
Chapter 10 hit me like I a storming boulder. I know how Kaladin feels, being told he can't serve anymore. Being lied to that his work will be just as important. Most of all I have the same fear as Kaladin, what if he never swears the next oath?

Wax's Pathian earring grants gold Feurchemy
Elsecaller_17.5 replied to Elsecaller_17.5's topic in Mistborn
Dang your right. I need to reread era 1. -
There has long been speculation that his earring, formed from an old Inquisitor spike, granted him some sort of power. The most common theory I've seen, and the one I believed up until a few moments ago, is that it is a basic pewter spike which grants physical strength. For evidence I turn to his duel with Miles Hunderdlives. Particularly the bit when Miles freea himself by blowing up nets he was trapped it along with Wax. The wounds were deadly. Here's a synopsis. Wax is at this point completely back to his normal self with little mention of his wounds. He even notes himself how shockingly well he feels. He continues to fight even pulling weight shenanigans like crushing doors with no mention of the fatal wounds. Then he gets it a RUSTING FIST FIGHT with Miles and does just fine (or rather as well as one can do against a gold compunder in a fist fight). After the fist fight he takes a brutal beating. At this point Wax should be dead. No questions asked. He does not injuries in the epilogue but all of those can be attributed to Miles final beating. Now that I've made my case that he had to receive Gold healing I have a few last points to add in. First, every Inquisitor had a Gold spike increasing the likelihood Wax would end up with one (though likelihood is a minor point with Harmony pulling strings). Second, the main argument I anticipate is that Harmony could have just healed him without a Gold spike. I believe this incorrect. There is never mention of a Scadrian shard spontaneously granting allomancy or feurchemy. There are though numerous accounts of them fueling allomancy and we have WoB that they can do the same with feurchemy. He would need the spike.

This is a bit off topic, but for mechanics may I suggest a Glamour Bard.

Another note. Shallan finds it interesting that Tyn could draw anger spren when they encountered Kaladin. This suggests with practice one can artificially summon spren. Perhaps it is also possible to drive them away.

I'm still crossing my fingers on that one.

the "Powerful Pose" of Gavilar Hypothesis

There might be something here. Vasher awakened the bones sealed inside the statues not the actual stone because he needed a human element. A previously human statue might fulfill that requirement as well. -
Needles are Fiddly (CHAPTER 7 SPOILERS)
Elsecaller_17.5 replied to Hessi's Ward's topic in Stormlight Archive
The dart theory is a bit far fetched, it would have to include a mole and if you have one of those why waste time with a dart. 2 other possibilities I haven't seen brought up (or at least fully explored) are suicide and posion in the horneater white that Shallan didn't drink from. I still think a mole is most likely, but who knows? -
This is a really valid point. We know from SH that dying is rather unpleasant and I cant imagine getting shoved into a body feels much better.

But that isn't what breath auras do either. They brighten colors not give off a prismatic spray. I think the most likely answer is that the cover isn't entirely canonical and the rainbow is just a hint towards Nalthis investure. As far as breaths vs awakened sword I'd much rather see a sword, it would fit his character quite nicely. Edit: oops, just saw the debunk

First, I know my views on this are somewhat extreme, but I'm a lifeguard and this is a very real danger. Second, I'm sure Brandon isn't doing this in purpose. Alright the coppermind states on F-Cadmium This, and cannot stress enough, IS NOT WHAT HYPERVENTILATION DOES TO THE BODY! Hyperventilation does not introduce more oxygen to the blood what it does is expel Carbon Dioxide. This is a vital distinction because the brain does not tell the lungs to breathe when it senses low oxygen levels. It does so when it senses high Carbon Dioxide levels. In simpler terms hyperventilation makes you feel like you don't have to breathe yet when you absolutely do. As a lifeguard this is one of my greatest fears two kids are having s breath holding contest and one of them decides to hyperventilate before without a word he passes out underwater and sinks to the bottom. This is referred to as a silent drowning. They can be extremely difficult to spot and can lead to death very quickly. The change I'd like to see is for Brandon to swap hyperventilate for breathe deeply. Finally this has bothered me everytime I've read it but I'm ranting today because I'm going boating with my cousin and my lifeguard instincts are raging.

Short answer, no. I just recently reread SH, nothing points to Sazed specifically.

How about some freaking armor. I'm not convinced weight woyld be a huge detriment and some chain would go a long ways.

Where did the RoW board go, I've been wanting to check out the discussion on the new chapter?
-
I'm leaning towards to yes, aluminum in a basic level removes other metals and in a truer sense all investure. I cant think of any reason it wouldn't work.
-
Theoretically it would be a big maybe. Practically I dont think you could get enough without compounding.
-
Double Zinc. They're my favorite A and F power just as they are, the synergize very nicely, and obviously compounding. In my head they're dubbed Masterminds.

I think we're missing the bigger picture. Sure cremlings probably have purple blood but who is going to stomp on enough crenlings to produce a noticeable amount of blood during a battle. There must have been something larger. Axehounds bred for war? Chulls pulling seige equipment? Larkins?!?

@Nick11 I couldn't agree more. Failing is an ideal candidate for Edgedancer. He summoned Maya at the battle of Thayelean early and that already makes him Pseudo-Radient. I would be shocked if he lives through 6 more books and doesn't restore and bond with Maya.
