  1. I read it very differntly. The changes are to Rysn's perspective. I think being a dawnshard has given her heightning like abilites.
  2. Great catch, I didn't pick up on that. Seems to be in-book confirmation this
  3. I think we're on slightly different pages. You seem to be imagining 4 main pieces subdivided into 4 more totaling 16 for 16 shards. I'm imagining 16 main pieces with 4 broken for the shattered shards which wouldn't lend credence to the 4 groups of shards thinking.
  4. TLDR: Dragons=Larkins The mural refers to chiri-chiri as a "Guardian of Ancient Sins." Given the context ancient sin seems to clearly be the Shattering. This means Larkins would have had to been around for the event. That in itself isn't at all a stretch, after all Roshar predates the Shattering. But we also have word the Larkins are sapient. It just seems like too many conidences for Larkins to not be dragons.
  5. I agree 2 dawnshards floating around the same system seems like a stretch. It's almost ceratinly the same one.
  6. I really like this idea and several shards sort really neatly, but I doubt it will be as neat as 4 dawnshards into 4 shards. I'm interperting the mural a little differnet then you guys seem to be, but I won't drag that converstaion here. There's something to be said with the Dawnshards being external to Adonlaisum. They were wielded by the orignal vessels against him after all.
  7. Heres the desrciption of thee mural read closely. I bet the mostly symentrical pieces come in a group of 16 with the 4 shatterd omnes represting the shattered shards Alternivly if the the sun is divided into roughly symeterical pieces and only 4 of them are broken into 4 more that implies there are more pieces. Pieces of Adonlalsium 4 times greater than a shard floating around. Edit: @Karger just saw you finished up Dawnshard, I'd love to hear your take on this one.
  8. Can you link to the annotaion? Edit: I'm to excited to read closely.
  9. I am so excited this amazing. I mostly just getting it out of my system here so I'll be able to sleep tonight. The Dawnshards are the weapons that destryoed adonliasuim likely created personally by him. Rysn is a dawnshard with the Command to change. Hoid probaly has/is a dawnshard which explains his RIDICULOUS power. The command is probaly something like "protect" that ties into his inabilty to harm people. The mural had a sun split into pieces I'd bet my life 16 of them, 4 of them broken for Devotion, Dominion, Ambition, and Honor. Edit: I misread this one just a little defintely 16 pieces I think its very unlikely that a sleepless in the Set's faceless imortal so back to the drawing board on theat one. The Sleepless are an ancient race, likely the third race of yolen. Man, Dragon, and Sleepless. Only 24 still exist and 20 are united in protecting the dawnshard. Assuming I'm right about Hoid WHERE ARE THE OTHER TWO DAWNSHARDS!!! The dawnshards are implied to be more powerful than SHARDS. Uncle A was destroyed by 4 of them each shard is 1/16 of A one dawnshard is roughly as powerful as FOUR SHARDS We have WoB that one dawnshard is different, (again assuming I'm right about Hoid) I bet its Hoids. We're kinda stupid for comparing them to shardplate and blade instead of Shards of Adonlasium, seems obvious in hindsight. HOOOOOOOIIIIIIIIIIIIID Dawnshards are at their most basic Commands, so Endowment probaly took some heavy inspirtaion from them. I'm am just so freaking happy right now. Its finally happening. Brandon is writing for us. The super nerds. I was feeling this way a little bit with the RoW chapters coming out but this was the real deal. He has moved into the second phase of the cosmere. He's not giving us hints and tidbits, he is giving us real information. I am so FREAKING EXCITED!!!!!
  10. His command is probaly to protect ot grow or something, like Rsyn's to change.
  11. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. This, none of those pictures are their canonical appearance.
  13. He definelty is a viable canidate for the Stonewards, but he is also one for the Edgedancers. Given his relationship with Maya though I defeintly think he would go Edgedancer, even if he matches the Stonewards a bit more neatly.
  14. Another suggestion. I'd argue that Shanay-im are the Skybreaker equivalents. Each radiant order has a primary and secondary surge. We know this because the primary is always listed first. Windrunners primary surge is adhesion; gravitation is the Skybreakers. Going around the circle this makes the (currently unintroduced) Division wielders match up with Dustbringers, abrasion with Edgedangers, progression with Truthwatchers, illumination using Mavset-im for Lightweavers, transformation (presumably the Fannahn-im) with Elsecallers, the transportation wielding Nex-im match Willshapers, an unintroduced tension wielder (slim chance this is actually the Fannahn-im) for Stonewards, we skip Bondsmiths and cohesion, and we have a final unintroduced Windrunner equivalent with adhesion. Edit: Just saw your theory on the Fannahn-im. Its a good argument, but I still think they're most likely Elsecaller parellels .
  15. I'd draw the distinction at whether or not they have a void spren. Natural forms existed before Odium and bonded with "normal" spren even before H and C got there. The epigraphs refer to voidspren bonds as "forms of power" and OB gives us the additional name Regals. In the coppermind the Song of Listing gives the base forms. The Songs of Wind and Secrets give the void/regal/power forms. Edit for clarity here's the quote
  16. 1 quick suggestion. I'd distinguish between the base singer forms, war, work, mate etc. and the greater Regals, envoy and storm. I believe it's the WoR epigraphs that have a bunch of info o different Regal forms.
  17. Ok, I'm seeing your point more now. Still if Brandon wants to pull off the story of the Cosmere he has to start assuming his readers have read it all eventually.
  18. I can't see someone so high up in the GB being bothered be such a tradition. I agree that Ishnah is out most likely culprit and her really being Iyatil would be an interesting twist.
  19. Nicrosil Compunder with breaths. Infinite Nightbloods.
  20. My thought has always been that the 5th ideal overrides the 3rd. That said I don't actually know.
  21. I propose that Szeths 5th ideal will be "I know good from evil." It works with "I am the law" in the sense that he's saying he can make his own decisions now. It would be a great capstone to his arc too. Several times I'm oathbringer he remarks that he doesn't feel like he knows anymore. Last but not least it would really round out his partnership with Nightblood.
  22. The right answer is because he's in jail. Another one though would be the recognize his value so they want him to get plate before sending him to battle so he's better protected.
  23. I agree completely, but I'm speaking of personal experience and feelings. Not logic.
  24. Personal experience. I didn't mean any offense to the military or anyone who works with them and I apologize if it came off that way. At the very least though I think Kaladin would agree with me.
  25. For we it's more that I've experienced the same thing. I'm convinced Brandon got a copy of my journal somehow.
