  1. I think I'd be legitimately mad if Shallan doesn't get to realize her full potential before the end. Lightweavers in general have such an interesting pair of Surges, and Shallan herself is using Illumination in such an interesting way, that I'd be mad if we didn't get to see her apply that sort of creativity and skill to the Transformation surge. Heck, with the way things are shaping up, it seems like her Shardplate was teased during the end of Oathbringer. I'd love to see her as (one of) the first new Radiants to have "living" plate that is fully functional and able to be summoned and dismissed as we saw in Dalinar's visions of the old Radiants. Kaladin getting his plate and Lashing around would be cool and all, but Shallan, the one who's most thorougly involved with stealth, would probably find all sorts of unique uses for the abilities that Plate confers. And if we don't get to see how she applies that I will be mad. Not that I honestly think Brandon would do that to us, but still. It would make me so mad if she WAS a red herring...
  2. Personally I hope Copper Constructs (humans spiked with 4 copper instead of the Koloss' 4 iron) become a thing in era 3 or 4. An immense amount of mental capacity, memory, and intelligence... the Brain to the koloss' Brawn.
  3. If so then wouldn't that have happened at some point in the 1000+ years before Vin and people would at least have the rumour that it IS possible to pierce a cloud if you're "lucky"? Instead they seem to dismiss it as an impossibility, that nobody could pierce a coppercloud.
  4. This bothers me though, because doesn't that mean there could be a surprisingly strong Seeker and surprisingly weak Smoker that occur naturally such that that seeker can Pierce specifically that smoker's coppercloud?
  5. Personally I think Atium alloys will be very strange Feruchemically. My favorite theory is that they "steal" their alloyed metal's normal attribute from someone you're touching. So malatium would store somebody else's health, which could then be tapped to heal the malatium ferring/feruchemist instead. Obviously very dangerous, and indeed, one might even call it Ruinous. But it's probably super unlikely. It just fits with the whole "couldn't get very far" thing.
  6. D'oh. You're correct. I guess that means Invocation is closer to the truth than I.
  7. Firstly this is a neat idea. I like it. Secondly I have a few ideas. I would give Dalinar Zinc, for those times when he needs to come up with a seriously indepth plan. Malata would be totally badass with Steel, just imagine running at super speed and then using Abrasion to skate and conserve that momentum. And of course high-speed Division would be TERRIFYING. Hmm... if we allow Spiritual metals I'd give Renarin Chromium. If it works the way I think it does, he might be able to have a better handle on his future sight stuff by managing his Fortune with it. But that may not end up being necessary down the line, in which case I'd give him Pewter, yeah. That's all I got right now.
  8. In my theoretical opinion, the one thing that's seriously changed is that their Identity and Connection have been removed and replaced due to Ba-Ado-Mishram's capture and the Everstorm shenanigans. Maybe the replacement Identity and Connection was different in a way that allows Radiant Spren to properly Nahel Bond with the repaired Singer souls.
  9. The problem with that is that so far it seems Harmonium-based allomancy is "always" ranged, like we see with the cube on the train, and afterwards. Doing that might also sap the metals of the user, which would be a problem... but if you CAN specify it to be on contact, even then, the user is still touching the sword as well. Might need an aluminum-lined glove to hold it.
  10. Reads post. Glances at my icon. Nothin to see here nope. In all seriousness though that sounds pretty cool. But if a Connector can selectively store a specific Connection, does that mean they could store their Gravitational connection a la [Stormlight Archive] to experience low or even Zero-G? And then tap that Connection to increase their Gravity, thus mimicking F-Iron (but not quite the same way, as Wax seems to be changing his effective mass, not the effective gravity. This method would retain mass and therefore Inertia, but would be easier to Push or Pull away from the surface).
  11. Actually, I'm in a similar boat with you on what Voidbinding's powers are based on. I agree that the Voids' powers ought to be similar to the Unmade. For example, maybe Void-transformation allows you to basically Soulcast Midnight Essence and control it?
  12. I believe Glys no longer has the ability to provide the normal Surge of Illumination to Renarin because of the corruption. I think whatever the corruption did, part of it was changing the "secondary" surge of the surgepair into a void. So if, for example, Pattern got corrupted, we would see void-transformation and normal-illumination emerge on the other side.
  13. Ok, this is amazing. Even if only one of these ideas is actually correct (unity being the child of honor/cultivation, the function of the dawnshards, etc), that's still amazing. Also it would make sense for Unity based dawnshards to be able to merge spren (unify them) in unique ways. Binding them (honor) to make something new (cultivation). I can definitely see the Oathgate spren being some sort of paired Unified spren based on the 2 Radiant spren that grant Transportation. I wonder if a KR could be bonded to a spren like that...
  14. I was going to mention, I'm much more interested in other worlds' recreations of shardplate, considering the increased complexity and opportunity for special abilities we wouldn't otherwise see. Sel is a fairly clear-cut answer; have an Elantrian carve some Aons into metal plate armor or the like. I don't know specific Aon effects off-hand, so if anyone has good suggestions, please do elaborate on this. Scadrial, as you said. Perhaps [Era 2 BoM spoilers AGAIN, sorry] Nalthis would be really interesting, awoken armor that functions like an exoskeleton... It's shaped like a living thing (but granted, almost definitely made of metal, so it'd be like awakening a humanoid-shaped Nightblood... shudder). Nightblood is already a "third gen" shardblade, after all. It would be like his brother. Awesome.
  15. I would imagine it would inflict Shade-Withering when you cut someone, at least. We also have WoB that you can put Seons (and other Splinters) into a gemstone just like Rosharan Spren, to make a fabrial. So do Shades count as Splinters for the purposes of putting them in gems? That could be how the shadegun works, being a fabrial with a shade in it that fires withering investiture blasts (or something, i'm unsure tbh). If that's the case, then you could kind of "cheat" by making a half-shard sword with a Shadrial on it that makes the blade Wither on contact. This would work if there's no good way to pull a shade into the PR to become a blade via a "natural" bond. 1. Agreed. 2. Also agreed. 3. It really does hinge on the ability to make the sword highly durable via [Era 2 BoM spoilers again]
  16. Well we know that Seons from Sel definitely COULD be Shardblades, if they had something more that pulled them into the Physical realm more fully. Another world where I could see shardblade-like creations made is actually Scadrial. [Era 2 Spoilers (Mostly BoM)]
  17. OR just have the one dude with all of these powers via Medallions. Who knows.
  18. I bet that with enough time and ability to position themselves, we could see an F-Zinc ferring get this done at least once, with experience.
  19. Until everyone is a mini vessel of adonalsium That'd be a weird, almost thermodynamic endgame for the cosmere.
  20. If multiple coppercloud mistings working together can increase the potency of the cloud, and they each had Kokerlii-type Aviar paired with them, then I could see them being able to reach some sort of weird effects with that level of "cloudyness". Personally I want to know if it could in fact close a perpendicularity, what would happen with the Investiture that was making it in the first place?
  21. Another theory I've seen is that Trell itself is actually a Splinter of "Harmony" (Discord) and that's why Trellium is such a weird metal, and why it seems intent on sowing Discord among the Scadrians.
  22. Yes, but... 1. Sazed is holding 2 shards with perfectly opposite Intents, to the point where the two cannot fight directly because it hurts them. Imagine what sort of madness trying to merge them would wreak on both the Intent and the Vessel. 2. Are they "perfectly" balanced? They balanced in such a way that he finds acting according to either of them to be so against the other that he can barely act now that he has been acclimated to this dual Intent. Agreed. Hence why I suggested that he may be trying to get enough collective Cognitive belief that he is Harmony to actually change his intent and 'fix' that imbalance.
  23. Personally, my take on this is that he's suffering from Passion Syndrome, where he's claiming to be one Intent, but is actually another, even so far as to lie to himself about it. After all, you would think that a shard named Harmony would have no issue acting without resistance from its own power. Instead, we see that Harmony struggles to act because of the "conflicting" intents of the two shards he picked up, due to him creating the Elendel Basin and making it such a paradise. We can even see he regrets making such a severe change to Scadrial because it may have limited technological advancement for Era 2 Scadrians. They don't need to innovate to survive, so they don't. They don't change. I think we'll see him become true Harmony at some point either just before or during the end of the Era 3 trilogy, by reconciling the nature of his power in some way. It may be that he calls himself harmony and tells everyone he is in the hopes that the collective cognition of Scadrians will "fix" his Intent, but that's literally just a guess. It could just as easily be that he wants to sounds benevolent because he wants to be benevolent, but that sort of falls along a similar vein. He wants people to think he's Harmony so that he becomes Harmony. But I think the issue is more fundamental than cognitive perception of his Intent. I think he does need to actually reconcile the Intents of his two shards and he may experience some sort of "super ascension" when he does so, becoming actual, true Harmony, instead of Discord-claiming-to-be-Harmony. But this is all just speculation and I could be totally wrong, we won't know until Brandon tells us, either via book or WoB.
  24. I feel like we need a coppercloud PoV character for Era 3, now. Some of these questions need (or would benefit more from) direct observation from the user's perspective. Like, yes, we saw what copper allomancy was like with Vin, but like with Breeze, having solely copper allomancy would mean you'd dedicate all of your allomantic practice to that one metal. Surely copper mistings have figured out something unique over the generations, especially once Medallions become more widespread on the way to Era 3.
  25. I actually recently heard that Brandon confirmed that "there's not enough room on your spiritweb to be a Fullborn" and that TLR could only do it because he was a Sliver from the Well and used it's power to give himself super strong allomancy as well as having his natural Feruchemy. But I haven't seen a WoB confirming the "not enough room" bit, only secondhand. If that IS true, however, that's a very simple explanation for why TLR's children weren't fullborn.
