  1. This again makes a degree more sense. It also implies that Gavilar kept the actual content of his visions close to the fold. If this is true I actually expect Kadash to come clean once he gets incontrovertible proof. Also given the strain that he is under I would not put it past the SoH to think they have to eliminate him soon. If Kadash is the spy both his life and mental wellbeing are in serious jeopardy.
  2. Ah so you think by oath five they should have gotten to a place where they can manage it successfully?
  3. Didn't Teft do that at oath three? He swore to start taking care of himself.
  4. Kaladin claims that things don't get easier because of radiance. He might be wrong but I think in general you don't get magical fixes to your problems even in SA.
  5. Brandon might be playing word games. My version would not imply unlimited voidlight just a constantly replenishing source of it.
  6. Brass.
  7. The major symptom Kaladin seems to be working with right now is that he is trying too hard. This is leading to his performance slipping and him getting aggravated. I am unsure as to the underlying causes though.
  8. I agree. Thank you for putting it more succinctly. I suppose this would make Veil and Radiant primary protectors.
  9. Kadash is looking into something he does not want to believe. I find it understandable that he tries to rationalize for as long as possible. What I am getting at is the person Dalinar sees Kadash as is clearly not capable of treachery. If he is a spy then one of two things must be true. Dalinar must be extremely wrong which would imply that he was a terrible judge of character or Kadash must be duped/believe he is working for Dalinar's/everyone's good. I personally reject the first. We see from his interactions with Adolin, Renarin, Sadeas, Elhokar, and even Kadash himself that Dalinar is a pretty good judge of human behavior. His major miscalculation with Sadeas did not happen because he did not know who Sadeas was but because he underestimated just how low the cremling would go. The second makes a bit more sense but still does not really square with me. Perhaps one of Kadash's friends in the ardentia is working on him by asking question about Dalinar's state of mind in the guise of looking into the visions and the SoH are overstating their connection?
  10. I see Renarin's actions as a void surge of illumination which would imply that they are fueling normal surgebindings with voidlight. However we know from Mistborn that this can have very different effects. I personally think their connection constantly fuels them with voidlight that they can put into spheres once they are "full" which is why they only run out during combat when they loose light faster then they can replenish it.
  11. It seems pretty bulky and tough. I am not sure a few rocks are going to damage it. Also the fused have trouble lashing big objects. They rarely do more then lash themselves.
  12. The better question might be "what does not happen next." During times of religious turmoil people tend to try pretty much everything. New religions will pop up. Others will try and return to the original simplicity. Still others will have different ideas about what the original simplicity was. This will go on for a generation or two until something loosely resembling a status quo picks up again.
  13. 100%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. We are not sure how often either Herald is lucid. As such they probably concentrate their questions on things of obvious intimidate importance. If they have not sighted a fused they will not have yet asked about it. How did the old Windrunners train. What could the enemy here by interested in. Asking about a type of fused that the Heralds might assume you already know about would not necessarily be a good use of their time.
  15. She lays out her reasoning at the beginning of WoR. Beings such as Honor and Odium might exist but they are fallible. She feels no personal inclination to worship powerful yet fallible beings nor does she except them as arbiters of ethical behavior. Jasnah believes that this is the purpose of a god and since she does not think any being can carry out that purpose she chooses not to worship. When talking to Taravangian in WoKs she claims that morality and choice exist outside of any god's preview. If one and one making two exist without a deity deciding then why not murder being wrong?
  16. I find that a bit odd. Veil and Radiant are both designed to be independent. Their role is to protect Shallan physically and emotionally. Shallan on the other hand requires intimacy.
  17. Not sure you could. You can't just get back. You must assume that a perpendicularity is observed and the Fused send a team. We will have to see whether spanreeds work in Shadesmar. If not, you will have to rely on prearranged transfer points and times. You could rendezvous pretty easily at any oathgate city.
  18. The feelings I have about Gavilar are real. He is abuser and as such is crem.
  19. I am not sure comparing types of evil is ever productive. Sympathy is never wasted. It does not imply agreement. Gavilar does not have to be evil to act evilly. If the only people who acted wrongly were scaly monsters the world would be much simpler. However abuse is never justified and is always wrong. As an abuser Gavilar was both wrong and evil. The fact that he did other good things during his life does not change that. Given who is currently dealing with the whole "save the world" project I would say that his actions were clearly wrong. The fact that he did not realize this is not exactly helping his case. As a Lightweaver I disagree. The feelings that Gavilar engenders in a reader are just as real as anything else and should be recognized as such.
  20. Someone did actually call it before you here. Sorry. Still I agree it would be awesome.
  21. I think this is part of their old prehuman culture that they maintain in order to keep sane. Maintaining old rituals, beliefs, and hobbies are a recommended behaviors when working through long periods of isolation and or depression.
  22. This is why we can't assume we get 1 to 1 correlations.
  23. A good question. Her physiology is the same as the fused but she uses honor based Surgebindings(if she can bind at all).
  24. Humans can't become fused in the conventional sense. I wonder what happens if you stick a human CS inside a parshe body*shudders.* I personally can't wait to meet the Skybreaker fused. I wonder what they will be like. Evil lawyers? Also they will use the division surge which makes me wonder what the Dustbringer fused are like.
  25. Or just a bunch of stormlight. It might fade faster without perfect gems but it seems doable. With enough gemstones you could probably make it to the nearest spren city where Honorspren have a presence in a day or two. You could get back in the same amount of time. Less then a week travel.
