  1. I thought Odium chose Dalinar as his candidate. Yes Dalinar said no and Odium never explicitly said "I choose you" but can Odium take it back and choose someone else?
  2. He is working out terminology and has tones of other stuff to do. Don't be mean! Soulcasters do hum in unison when working on a group project. We see it in WoR
  3. When speaking of combustion I only thinking about how fire behaves in increased pressure environment. Pressure is not something that Jasnah can deal with by soulcasting she could soulcast the air to something inert but that is a realy bad idea because she would likely suffocate without realizing it as her brain is starved of oxegen. All Kaladin needs to do to start a fire in this environment is to make a spark. He can do this any number of ways including just lashing a rock at the ground realy fast.
  4. Brandon himself mixes these this up. The way I do it (and many fan agree) is that singer is the generic for the species, dawnsinger is the name for the ancient singers and their civilization and listener is the tribe of singers on the shattered planes.
  5. What about founding the traditions and knowledge bases that allow humanity to recover from the destinations by creating libraries and embedding collections of wisdom in the popular conscience? Bathe regularly, wash hands before surgery, these are all influences of the Heralds.
  6. Battar is in Kharbranth actively working with or for the Diagram. What are you talking about? Vedeledev was the one who trained the surgeons in the desolations and she is probably the one who put down all the rules that Lirin follows. I am pretty sure that Palah founded the Palanaeum (she is there right now). Ash has had more screen time then any Herald except Nale they are all definitely doing important things.
  7. Because you couldn't have joints and would just fall over?
  8. Granted but you now always have helmet hair. I wish that the essay I am working on was finished.
  9. I will deafer to you in this but what about burning? Wayne does not have an easy time with it and I have found no evidence that incinerating a returned is particularly difficult. In fact now that I think about it killing by burning is probably a smart way to take down a Radiant as it will destroy a lot of flesh and cause severe nerve damage.
  10. When you are in a worship service and they are talking about the Almighty and you think "Isn't he dead?"
  11. Shallahn does have trouble getting rid of alcohol with limited stormlight and this would all be much worse as Jasnah's body tries to deal with several different potentially lethal toxicities at the same time. Also she could be in serious trouble if Kaladin manages to ignite the mixture.
  12. The ozone would probably be poisonous and the entire mixture would be highly flammable. Also the high nitrogen content would probably give Jasnah the bends effectively poisoning her. (Isn't it realy hard to burn away poison? We know thugs can be taken down by it if it is strong enough)
  13. What about if Kaladin increased the air pressure around Jasnah to several atmospheres?
  14. Jasnah in a room with Odium Odium gets completely clobbered in about 2 seconds and ends up splintered. Lift in a room with preKelsier Vin. Vin Stares suspiciously Lift "Do you have any food?" Vin "No" Lift "We have to find some!" Vin Nothing Lift "If I find some I can be awesome!" Vin nothing Human in a room with Baon
  15. This brings up an interesting point. We know that stormlight heals but we don't know if for example it is more difficult to heal a small complicated injury or a large simple one.
  16. Its more like swallowing a small explosive

    Frustrated

I kind of want him to just drop everything and just finish SA and then go in order one at a time.
  18. Surgebinding links my abilities to my personal development something that I desperately need. I also want a spren companion(who doesn't?). Finally it shardblade and plate are just cool.
  19. Holding your breath in vacuum is a terrible idea and if you exhale don't you loose your stormlight?
  20. The bends happen both with increasing and decreasing pressure.
  21. I almost agree but you are both forgetting Kaladin's advantages as a combat trained and battle hardened soldier. He can probably understand his opponent quicker adapt better and rise faster then Jasnah can after getting knocked over. He also has the advantage in a no stomlight battle if they both run out due to this and a higher pain tolerance(that could certainly matter even if stormlight heals wounds).
  22. I think we are imagining the surge differently Adhesion: The Surge of Pressure and Vacuum can be used in my opinion to create and maintain a vacuum just as Kaladin in space could create and maintain a bubble of air. (Also Kaladin is removing the nitrogen too). We have a WoB on Kal's ability to do that.
  23. As it turned out attacking would not have made any difference as the oathgate was not working and the humans were incredibly outnumbered. Ironically calling for a truce with one of the none fused singers might have been the only way to save the city.
  24. Good and you? Also what Sanderson have you read?
  25. It would be a balancing act but the effects of a betrayal is much worse then a botched assassination attempt.
