  1. No but she is extraordinarily competent and she can't stand not knowing something. I seriously doubt that Jasnah would higher someone she could not easily identify and track down in the event of betrayal.
  2. True but I can't help but doubt that.
  3. The fact that she sold him
  4. True but he is the most dangerous shard alive and he has the most experience of any other 16 at shard v shard combat. I doubt the splinters he used to make voidspren would matter that much if it came to a clash between the two of them.
  5. Different interpratations of honor. It could also be argued that being honorable means expecting others to act rightly and giving them that chance. The singers could have given the humans a chance to make up for what they had done, the Radiant team could have tried to broker peace, the Queen's guard could have trusted the Radiant team.
  6. I see no reason why he could not do this. Adhesion is the surge of vacuum pressure.
  7. What about my second point? Do you realy think that Jasnah would allow Liss anywhere near a member of her family without knowing exactly what she looks like and how did Liss miss the fact that one of her slaves had an Honorblade?
  8. This is from ancient Singers not the listeners. The aceint listeners had an entire culture and religion that we know next to nothing about and is probably only tangentially similar to modern listener culture. The unmade a specific and dangerous. Also why should Odium worry about splintering a bit of himself. He is trapped and without splintering he is going to stay that way. Besides he can always reclaim the pieces of himself. "...or I will reclaim that which gives you persistent life"(OB). It is not that he is spending anything this is an investment. When the war is finally won on Roshar the fused will finally sleep.
  9. The real question might be why Honor locked them in the first place.
  10. Remember to pick your WoBs carefully and to have them prepped ahead of time. Actually does someone want to make a thread for WoB vetting to make sure that the answers are something he is likely to talk about (not get RAFOed) and can't be answered just by general book knowledge? Does a thread like that already exist?
  11. The bends are caused by a sudden loss of pressure in the environment I don't think you have to be breathing at the time for it to matter. Also the most likely reaction to finding your air is gone is holding your breath which will cause your lungs to burst in total vacuum. This will require a bunch of stormlight to repair. Gasses are easily compressible so Kaladin should not have much trouble pushing all the air away from Jasnah fairly quickly and again I must point out that we have little idea how the transportation surge works or how accurate it is. We have no idea what the resonance effect for windrunners is with bondsmiths and we also don't know if Kaladin was making use of his at the battle. We also do not know if all resonance effects are equal it is perfectly possible that some are more powerful then others.
  12. A good point except why would she bother? The only depictions of Heralds are woefully inaccurate due to the cultural and changes they have undergone in the past 4500 years. I also have a hard time believing that Jasnah would employ an assassin who she knows nothing about on a regular basis or would allow said assassin to disguise herself.
  13. ^^That is what I was thinking of.
  14. I think depriving the enemy army of the will to fight is smarter. To delight in war is at best a dangerous quality in a soldier. Also the thrill seems addictive so exposing your soldiers to even small amounts sounds like a bad idea.
  15. If Jasnah tries to leave a vacuum instantaneously via the transportation surge she will instantly black out from the bends. Yes stormlight can heal that kind of thing but it would take a lot and she would be venerable while recovering.
  16. I personally think his unite them command is his interpretation of the shardic intent he receives from proximity to a fragment of honor. I am definitely behind Odium thinking that Dalinar was Adonalsium and maybe his interpretation of the command is closer to the intent of Adonalsium himself?
  17. They refer to all spren as gods.
  18. You mean ruin (and perhaps preservation.)
  19. Agreed also if Pattern indicates voidspren are something different and the Listener songs say that their gods were born from a splinter of a soul.
  20. Preservation's power can't be used to destroy so getting rid of the mists would not have been possible using it. In fact I don't think we have seen preservation's power do anything other then give or create. Finally the LR was a pack man not a scholar or philosopher he was probably not used to thinking about the consequences of world changing actions.
  21. But Kaladin's problem is that he can't act with the expectation that others will act honorably. If he had worked a little harder he probably could have gotten a cease fire in place and that would have allowed him to stop Moash. Several important actors did stop fighting when they saw him he just needed to trust them. I also have a hard time believing that an Honorspren would bond someone who did not care about ethics, humanity, or justice. No redemption!
  22. He could have just imported a few as breading stock
  23. Jasnah now has real pictures of the Heralds I think she would notice if one of them matched an assassin that she had employed for years.
  24. Syl also could be described as withdrawing during the time Kaladin was breaking his oath. Also maybe that was a self defense mechanism that allowed the spren to survive. Backing up before the recreance happens so that you don't die seems like a smart plan.

    Era 3 team

I get the impression that modern people view metalborn worship as superstitious and amusing. Yes Kelsier is manipulative and somewhat arrogant but the fact of the matter is he choose to have mercy on the noblemen of the citadel as apposed to sending Vin after them, he did care for the skaa and his friends admit that they were better people once they had been manipulated by Kelsier.
