  1. I am fairly sure that Harmony is preventing Trell from doing that.
  2. Skyward Seattle signing (Nov. 10, 2018) #5 Share Copy Play/Pause Questioner So Lift gets her awesomeness from food. Is that a Lift thing or is that an Edgedancer thing? Brandon Sanderson That is a Lift thing. She is a very specific thing, and what she is will come out more, as the series progresses. It's not just a little one-off, there is actually something more behind it, but it is not an Edgedancer thing. Questioner I was starting to think that maybe there was something that Cultivation's people had their own kind of Heralds, that had their own alternative energy so-- Brandon Sanderson It's going to probably take until Lift's book to start to dig into it too much, but it isn't that far off, 3 books.
  3. Preaty sure all of the graphic novels will take place on dayside(if they are anything like the prose they will have to) and even those KEEP GETTING DELAYED.
  4. and this which is the answer to your question. Legion Release Party (Sept. 19, 2018) #69 Share Copy Play/Pause PrinceDusty At the Pixel Project event, you talked about a further extent of Cultivation's magic than just the boon and bane? Are there any people alive at the end of Oathbringer who are influenced by that magic? Brandon Sanderson Yes, Lift. Well, I guess that's a boon, isn't it? Yes, there are. But nobody on screen that has Cultivation magic, other than boons or curses from the Nightwatcher. Yes, there is such a thing, no, there's no one else on screen. But what Lift does is a hint.
  5. I found this which is relevent to your topic Words of Radiance Philadelphia signing (March 21, 2014) #5 Share Copy Play/Pau EHyde As Lift's spren refers to the Nightwatcher as Mother, right... Brandon Sanderson He definitely calls somebody a mother. The implication in the text is that it's the Nightwatcher. EHyde Certainly, so I'm just going to run with that right now. So the question that I'm asking is, is surgebinding in general a melding of Honor and Odium, a la feruchemy being in some sense not directly derivative of Ruin and Preservation? Brandon Sanderson It is...Honor and Cultivation is what you mean? EHyde Yes. Brandon Sanderson There are spren of all three Shards, and those spren can work within the bounds of the magic that has already been set up on Roshar. EHyde
  6. I got this idea watching Rshara post for the thirteenth time that Odium is not Passion. This thread exists so that you can put proof that something people think is true is not and just link them here instead of saying everything every time it comes up.
  7. Cultivation also has some kind of Cultivationbinding that we have not yet seen on screen.
  8. You joking. He is worth at least four and a half. You forgot that in the current economy with anger management so widely available...
  9. Am I the only one who thinks that Rshara got so tried of correcting everyone that they just automated the "Odium is not passion" ahead of time using some fancy software? I know someone has to do it every time someone makes such a theory and I know Rshara is one of the best people to do it as they are one of our best cosmere scholars but this pattern is starting to feal less Patterny and more broken record.
  10. Nations are made out of people. I was asking if he wants us to mention specific people or just the nations they are members of.
  11. The metal shows Preservation where it output himself it does not fuel the magic. The metal is the key not the power. Just a point. I am realy not sure where you get that idea. The bond seems to be of Honor and the spren can be of either Honor or Cultivation. Exactly what makes you think it is of Cultivation? I still do not know why you think that Cultivation makes forms. The bond seems like it is of Honor and even when voidforms are involved does involve a highstorm. Cultivation comes in where? I personally think Adonalsium created the entire shebang in some way and the surges just sort of developed based on how the shards built on top of that. Voidbinding looks very interesting and the idea that three different shards influence it is pretty cool but I still do not see where Cultivation comes in.
  12. So your question is about people not nations?
  13. The Mistborn form is the correct one. Well all of them seem to have been WoB confirmed... It is hard to go rouge when you can be mind controlled also the entrance and as such exist to the Kandra home world was guarded. Read Hero of Ages annotations for info about the Kandra. This will explain a lot of their actions.
  14. To make it more exclusive. It adds value to the experience if it is somehow (even arbitrarily) special. Also this will help prevent spoilers for those who do not like to know anything about a work before reading it.
  15. Well Frost seems to be the closest thing to an unbiased source of information in the Cosmere and even he says that Odium is divine hatred. His passions also seem to be different from the normal ones. IE Venli says the rythums sound different when she is in a form of power.
  16. He also does not seem to age.
  17. I agree that Odium is useful. Dalinar can fully attest to the fact that without Odium he would be dead. I am not sure that the ratio of Cultivation to Odium is enough. Perhaps 1/2 Odium+ all of Cultivation might be good.
  18. The reshi are not like the other countries. They don't have one single leader. Each clan has its own king and they move around and relate to each other in an interesting way but they do not respond to conventional diplomacy and there is not one leader you can focus your efforts on. The Iri have three monarchs with different responsibilities. They are completely in Odium's camp and it is going to take a lot to change that. This a lot will most likley involve the death of many Iri people. Dalinar's brother in law is actually from Rira not Iri Honestly. I think the best option might be to kill him and then have a lightweaver do an impersonation of some final commandments. Why not? You completely missed Rira Iri's neighbor and disputed vassal state. Tu Bayla has some interesting nomadic people. The Aimians and Sleepless are an interesting question. We still do not know much about the Natanatan people. Babatharnum seems to have fallen in with the enemy. Finally you have to remember that Azir's control over the empire is only formal. Technically he only rules Azir. Each other country has its own system of govenrment and its own government head. We know next to nothing about Emul and Marat for example.
  19. True. What I am saying is that no one on scadrial will have that gene. The people of scadrial have no relation to Trell the way they do to Preservation or Ruin. So how exactly do they unlock it?
  20. If anyone can burn a god metal then why does everyone not just burn atium during era 1? It was fairly available.
  21. It will not be possible unless Harmony specifically makes it so.
  22. So I think producing fertile human offspring without any other complications is a good standard then.
