The women could certainly be Taran. I believe we have confirmation of a Taran sighting during Veil's infiltration of Amaram's war camp and almost everyone from the warcamps has relocated to the tower city. I imagine that Syl will be playing matchmaker once she learns who Taran is and I bet Adolin and half of bridge four will be helping her. Not suer how Kaladin will react though.

According to ancient records and WoBs they were trying to ornament the blades with gemstones and accidentally learned to summon and dismiss them. Bad example transformation and illumination do not exist on scadrial as natural forces. Not in any real context. The surges are a construction that allow humans to explain why certain things happen but I challenge you to measure or define transformation in any meaningful way. -
You can't nullify a shard's power and influence. That would be like destroying gravity.

We have no idea how invested he is. Also Sel has a potion making magic system. That should add some umf.

He was ridiculously paranoid. Remember the hole sleeps in a different room every day despite being basically invincible? Well she was not realy loyal to him personally. They get more into this in the sequels. They also did not yet know his weakness they only had a few guesses. If they did find it that information could be valuable to her. Additionally she may have been compromised emotionally I doubt she wanted her "friends" killed. Also SH was not a likeable person.

It can we see Vin basically doing this with the mists. They only had one kandra that we know of and she was crazy and is now dead. I think Harmony keeps track of his people. Same problem as above. Also lerasium does the same thing hemolergically it steals all powers.

It is not like Rayse can stop or make someone be angry without specific effort. A lot of what the shard does is without the vessel's specific permission or potentially even knowledge.

Um no. The surges are local to the Rosharan system they clearly do not exist on scadrial or elantris. That is a great question. One that we do not yet know the answer to. Please separate your rant on inconsistencies from actual questions it would make responding a bit easier. Or it just sort of happened. Many discoveries are based on serendipity. Shardplate could easily be a separate thing that just sort of happened without anyone expecting it. Kind of like how humans figured out how to bond dead blades while trying to decorate them.

There is more then one magic system and they worked differently. Surge is probably just the closest word in Dawnchant to what destroyed Ashyn An older different magic system. This is what happens when your histories and mythologies degrade due to poor record keeping. People get confused about stuff like that. That is what legends say. We know that that is not true now. We don't know but that is hardly an inconsistency. We are not all knowing. Or just that he thought them worth mentioning as separate for some reason. I don't think an offhand comment that may or may not mean something is realy inconsistent. Humans do stuff like that all the time Or just existed in some other form. Or perhaps Urithiru was made by and for a different purpose.

The metals are not turning into investiture they are allowing the alomancer to channel investiture from Preservation's body. The metals themselves are dispersed(whatever that means).

You get a bunch of interference if you have to many resonances. Also it would be exponentially more then that.
