  1. No. Venli states you have to be open to the fused. Currently they use the everstorm for rebirths but prior to that Odium did it personally. That is not what he is doing. He is using the surge of transportation to make an entirely new body every time he jumps.
  2. I don't know if traveling through the PR would work the same way for a CS. Either way they must have solved it somehow.
  3. He also wrote to Restares at the end of WoR.
  4. I had been thinking of what Teft's afterlife must be like. I imagine him as a sergeant in the tranquiline halls going to new arrivals and checking to see if they too have what it takes to be an ideal sergeant. I hope he becomes an army folk hero.
  5. HA! Given his particular madness he probably can't hold down a steady job or look after money any more so I think the answer might actually be yes. Perhaps he wants to keep an eye on them? Foiling the plans of everyone who follows you is a good way to make sure your followers accomplish nothing while also knowing what other similar groups are doing.
  6. And? Do we really have any evidence this is not the case? Getting into business arrangements with shards especially ones that want to take over the known universe is a risky business. I am going to assume this method is not repeatable. How do you know they have not? I would think Mraize gave her that seon for this exact reason. They probably had people in the area to pick her up. That is a point I missed. Someone or something has a lot of perfect gems. Could this be confirmation that these someones are not in fact the GBs? As stated I think they did run a test. It is in the annotations IIRC. When there was rebellion he would send an inquisitor with a group of koloss. EDIT here is a reference.
  7. Actually he used inquisitors for that. Also Kel is much weaker the TLR. Did not realize. I will fix it. Thanks.
  8. My guess is that they understand the theory behind the weapon but there is something wrong with their underlying understanding so they expect the weapon to work even though we know it won't. Even Hoid can't do that yet. I am also unsure how much progress they have actually made in getting stormligh offworld. I personally think they have a theory for both CS and stormlight but have not been able to implement their plan yet. As far as I can tell it is just Raysium with a gemstone at the hilt. I don't really think that constitutes irreplaceable just valuable. They had a plan. Lightweaving impersonation. Firstly we don't know if this is Mraize's plan. Even if he is a high ranking member I think he would need authorization to preform this mission. Enough to assault a city? Also the logistics would be a pain. If Shallan fails her actions are much easier to disavow then the necessary money and even paper trail left from ruining an army. Brandon has explained that he is not bound into a system by the nature of Endowment's investiture. Could easily be Scadrian. I think Odium can probably get around this if he really wants to. Odium had not killed Jes yet. They presumably missed their window with her. Maybe they in fact did test the weapon on the fused and it worked. The oathpact is partially defunct so the Herald's immortality does not work the same way anymore but the fused are still the same. That sounds like something Ishar might manage but I have no idea how that would work with the metallic arts. Maybe a connection savant manipulating things the right way but if he had that kind of ability then he is basically not trapped anyways in most of the ways that matter.
  9. The deal was still voided. You can make a case for semantics but you are basically arguing that Taravangian would chose to honor a deal that he made with himself and weakens him.
  10. That is probably void right now as Taravangian did not hold up to his end of the bargain and instead betrayed Odium.
  11. Is still unclear. They wanted Kelek under their power. We don't know he and Kel share a goal or that Kel is the only one with a vested interest in his capture. The GBs don't know that their weapon won't work. That knowledge seems exclusive to the Heralds and team Odium. Mraize was overconfident. However for this mission to succeed they did not have other options. We don't know how much Raysium the GBs have or if they have any other uses for it. They said they can't enter lasting integrity. Problematic. He is a Herald. They are highly unpredictable people. He could stay there for the next century or disappear without a trace next week. I don't think the GBs have the numbers for this. Also might want to prefer making permanent enemies of the Honorspren. Those guys really keep grudges. Finally Heralds are really dangerous in open combat. Mraize was counting on surprise and despair. No way they have anyone who can take Kelek. She could theoretically have just been promoted faster then him. I had not considered this one actually. It is quite interesting. Motivation is still questionable. Kelseir becoming a nativist would explain Thaidikar's actions but how he became like that is still very questionable. I will add this one and hope someone can develop it more. I personally find this one less compelling. Iyatil reports to him so he knows who she is. Given that I think he would know who Mraize is as well. He seems to have way too much access. He knew who Ash was, why Amaram was important, was cosmere aware... It just seems too much for a nobody.
  12. I think society would be closer.
  13. I say Wildlight personally. I don't think Cultivation is an emotional shard. However Honor is often associated with civilization and his is the light lacking here. Wild can mean both emotion and growth.
  14. Ish. Brandon might have to move it a bit. My main problem is actually that Trell's insertion into scadrail seems to have started while Rayse was still alive according to Harmony's letter.
  15. We don't know how much control Thaidakar has over the GBs. They don't know that. They don't have other options. They have failed repeatedly to enter lasting integrity. Shallan is their best chance. Method is chosen by means not the other way around in this case. I agree it is not ideal.
  16. According to the Stormfather all of the Heralds were kings, generals, or scholars, with the exception of Taln. So Nale could have been a rival king or general. We don't know how many cultures the Ashynites brought with them.
  17. I am not sure that will work. The contact may still produce a similar explosion. The investiture is being converted into energy.
  18. I actually put this a few days ago but be warned there are some RoW spoilers. All info is from the epigraphs(no plot) but if you have not read it yet be careful. https://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/93323-grouping-the-shards-and-metals-discus/#comment-1119999
  19. Honor's own sergeant. Best of them all. Of all of them best. Sergeant's own Honor.
  20. Warbreaker takes place after Harmony's ascension. Kel could be less then 100 years younger depending on how old Vasher was during the Manywar. Exactly. Because of this he must be at least partially answerable to other GBs. I personally think he would have been more discriminating if he was starting from the ground with the organization. I think we can safely rule out this one. Wit refers to them as a spesific individual.
  21. I agree that Hoid is probably playing an angle here. I don't think he knew about Taravangian at the time. Perhaps he just wanted to gauge Rayse's mental state? He probably does not have many opportunities to do so.
  22. He is not according to WoB their absolute leader. Given how hierarchical their structure is if he were their founder I think he would be able to exert more control over them then a leader. Zahel seems to have a few and he is not that much older. He think these effects are location dependent? I don't want to derail the thread so I will spoiler my answer. If you wish to continue we can PM.
  23. A fair point although to date we have not seen him accomplish this. I assumed this meant he had the method but not the means although I could be wrong. Either way the only known Atium is with Marsh and even he does not have that much. Every heavenly one has a spear with a core of Raysium.
  24. Rayse also promised and Dalinar agreed...
