  1. I think what we do here is lynch both of them... Because there a few situations this could be: 1). Gears is village, and Matrim is an elim. 2). Gears is elim, and Matrim and Quinn are village. 3). Gears is elim and so is Quinn and this is an elaborate elim plot.
  2. Well, now that there is one other vote on Alvron, I’ll join the vote I really what to. So Matrim, you are in the clear.
  3. Similarly to energy in the real world, Kinetic Investiture is basically just Investiture that is being used to exert a physical change. Examples would be like Steelpushing and Ironpulling. Simply put, it’s Investiture that has an effect on the Physical Realm, outside of oneself. Non-Kinetic Investiture would be things that change the user. Like the Surge of Gravitation. It doesn’t change the laws of gravity, it just changes your spiritual connection to gravity, making you affected by it differently.
  4. I underestimated the amount of time left in the cycle. But considering the lower amount of activity compared to previous cycles, my decision may still be wise.
  5. Alv? Really, an RNG vote? I don’t know if this is just my paranoia speaking, but I think maybe you didn’t like my vote on you cycle one... so I’m lead to believe this could be an elim looking for an excuse to vote on someone who suspects them. Very IKYK, but... still very suspicious. Now, normally I would vote for Alvron here, but considering the rules of this game, I can’t. So in the interest of staying alive, Matrim. I have a village read on you @Matrim's Dice and I’ll be willing to change my vote.
  6. I have discovered an extremely interesting world, with an even more interesting magic system. The inhabitants, which I must note are still quite primitive, call it Cadomancy. In their language it means, “The Art of Falling.” One of the most intriguing parts of this magic is its’ limitations. Falling can only be used most effectively during this worlds form of our season of Autumn. However, this does not mean it can’t be used at other times. It only means that it’s most effective during this season. Users of Falling have the ability to manipulate the leaves of the trees found on the planet, called Vaenly. Though only if they are no longer attached to their original tree. At first I wondered why the simply didn’t pick the leaves from the trees. When I asked a local he said this, “Uha’ti eneim yulio, au’vaen! Vaes buhu’yi nuti yil’au Cado’hus, zay gebet ui’vat. Xri, mabana’yi uo’li, auquneinc droruo yil boro lopuo niv’ur yil’zat Cadok’hus” Which I translated to mean something along the lines of, “You are a silly man, foreigner! The leaves know that they didn’t Fall naturally, but by our hands. So, they spite us, not letting us control them as we’d do if they’d Fallen naturally,” Hence why they use the magic during Autumn, when the leaves fall extremely often. It also seems that the leaves fall in an unnaturally heavy amount. Why during my stay, when the season came, you could barely walk a single pace without hearing the crunching sound of leaves beneath you feet. Though the feats I’d seen accomplished by these Cadomancers negate all of my disgruntlement towards the environment of Vaenly. Not only have a seen warriors use it to great advantage during combat, turning the leaves into sharp knife-like projectiles or using them as blunt force weapons. But, I’ve seen feats of great engineering done with this magic. In fact, it seems that the potential the leaves hold is almost endless, unless of course fire is involved. Fire is indeed very dangerous on this planet. Not accounting for the already higher than average level of oxygen of the planet, it’s star produces much more sub-red light, somewhat more visible form of infrared light, than what we would call the visible spectrum. As I mentioned before, I’m not particularly fond of the planet. And not just because of the leaves everywhere during Autumn. More so that the world is so dark. Because of the lack of visible light created by the sun here, every thing is extremely dark to my eyes. Though I suspect that the locals here have adapted very well to the environment. There eyes must see more into the red side of the spectrum, allowing them to access the light their star generates, so to them the planet must be as bright as we’d consider normal. Another thing of that must be noted is that I’ve gotten hints that there may be other magics on this world. Perhaps yet again relating to the seasons? I don’t know, but I intend to find out. — From the journal of Ravvol Nulla, Cassik scholar and adventurer. Amphibian EDIT; please do not steal this idea , I may or may not write a story about it...
  7. Sorry, in my original post I worded it correctly... I mean that Illwei is the next best lynch option. EDIT; Though, I’m pretty sure I said it in the post I made...
  8. Yeah, the main point of the theory was that with Bendalloy compounding a Sand Master would be able to Master almost limitlessly. The part with the speed bubbles is a bit more iffy, considering we don’t know the exact amount of Kinetic Investiture speed bubbles produce and how many the Taldainian sand needs to recharge.
  9. Shard ate my post... Alvron For claiming roles can be indicative of alignment. I absolutely disagree, because I’ve been mis-lynched by elims using this argument many times. Illwei is the next best lynch option in my opinion. Due mainly to there suspicious flipping on their opinion of Experiences proposition. EDIT: Also, @Alvron, pretty sure we’ve played a game together before.
  10. Having re-read both Mistborn and White Sand in close proximity, I’ve developed a theory. Although this theory mainly relates to the use of Bendalloy Compounding and Sand Mastery conjunctively, it could be expanded upon to include other topics of how the two most prominent Scadrian magic systems interact with Sand Mastery. Anyways, introduction out of the way, I’ll try to explain how to hack Sand Mastery via Compounding. First of all, I’ll try to explain Sand Mastery. At least, from how I understand it from reading the comics and researching on the Coppermind. Sand Mastery is an end negative result magic, maybe. To use this form of Investiture it requires both water from the body, and the presence of Kinetic Investiture. After using the sand however, the Sand Master becomes dehydrated, and the Kinetic Investiture stored in the sand is lost, meaning not only can the Sand Master risk death, but the sand itself has less Investiture than before. Next, I’ll explain Bendalloy. I’m sure we are all well aware of how it works Allomantically. A Bendalloy Misting creates a bubble of sped up time, quite simple. Though, Feruchemical Bendalloy is interesting in my opinion. A Ferring would be able to store both calories, and hydration, albeit in separate metal minds. So, if one compounded Bendalloy they would no longer need to eat or drink, as their metal minds would be able to sustain their need for calories and water. Now, we reach the cusp of my theory of how to achieve unlimited Sand Mastery. As we’ve already established, to use Sand Mastery, one must be hydrated. Though, if a Sand Master has the ability to Compound Hydration in a Bendalloy Metalmind, they would theoretically be able to fuel their Sand Mastery directly from that Metal Mind. This could lead to some interesting effects. For instance, we know a Feruchemist can draw out their stored attributes at different rates, so if a Bendalloy Twinborn Sand Master drew upon their hydration-mind, how would that affect their Sand Mastery, if it would affect it at all? Would they be able to control more ribbons? Or would it simply just affect the strength of their pre-existing ones? The real main benefit of this, however, is that a Sand Master who is also a Bendalloy Compounder would be able to endlessly Sand Master, as long as there is Invested Sand for them to manipulate. This leads me to the next part of my theory. As stated before, the Sand on the Dayside of Taldain is charged via exposure to Kinetic Investiture. In most cases this is in the form of the Sun of Taldain, though it has been stated that other forms of Kinetic Investiture would be able to fill that role, such as the Rosharan Highstorms, giving use to Sand Mastery across the Cosmere. This is one of the more uncertain parts of this theory, but by this principle, would the Kinetic Investiture released by Allomancy, in this case, Bendalloy Speed Bubble, be enough to recharge Taldainian Sand? If this is the case, the it appears that a Bendalloy Compounder would make the ultimate Sand Master. They would be able to limitlessly Sand Master via the use of Compounding hydration and recharge the Sand they expend via burning Bendalloy. Obviously this is only speculation, as we don’t know if the Kinetic Investiture of a Bendalloy bubble would be enough to re-Invest the Sand as the Sun or a Highstorm would, but I think there is some merit to this theory.
  11. I’ll join, but considering Lafay is a Willshaper, I don’t think he’d be suited for the Ghostbloods... I’ll sign up as Vilt, a half Taldainian-half Scadrian Sandmaster and Bendalloy Compounder.
  12. Alright, I haven’t had too much time to be paying attention in detail with this game, but I’ll try to offer my opinions on the lynch. First off, Devotary, your safe... for now, I’ll keep you on my radar. I generally don’t like seeing people scape by by not posting a lot, or even trying to offer a lot of advice or thoughts on the game. And from your one post I can recall, I feel like that’s what you’re planning on doing here. Secondly, I agree with Aman and co.’s reasonings about Elkanah and Turtle. The thing is though, I have them at about an even suspicion level right now. But now that I think about it, Elkanah started the last game I played with them off in a very similar way. Which they acknowledged, but I find it too... (what’s the word?) to be a coincidence. In that game, Elk was the Monk, which was quite a problem for me considering my elim-ness. Now, in this game if they have a similar role, the HI, then I think it’d be beneficial for us to know if they are in fact the HI. If we know who the Intelligence is, not only will it be good to stop them from dying in the late game, but considering their lynch immunity, if it comes down to it, the Hemalurgist could stop a mislynch by bandwagoning the HI. I know people were saying we shouldn’t lynch the HI, but if we can get them early and find out who they are, we’d be able to protect them, and allow the Hemalurgist to pull off this gambit in the future. So I think the reward outweighs the risk. So in the name of finding the HI, I’ll vote Elkanah. Though, I do think Turtle as been quite suspicious... so perhaps if we can arrange a tie on them and let RNG decide our future that might be a good way to go. ——————————————————————————— Lafay Etteax was a hypocrite. He’d always said he despised Hemalurgy, and it was true. Sure, it was one of the most interesting and useful magics in the Cosmere, yet it came at such a high cost. He was no Windrunner, but that didn’t mean he’d throw away life for power. He was still a Radiant after all. Yet, if others knew about the electrum spike in his side, he was sure they’d view him in a much different light. He’d been born a Soother, but he had another Allomantic ability along with his Radiancy. Lafay was also a Leecher. Not a natural one of course. Scadrians could only be born with the ability to burn one metal or all of them. Hemalurgy broke that rule. One could steal someone’s ability and then give it to themselves using a Hemalurgic spike, but this meant the original user of the power had to die. This was Lafay’s hypocrisy. He denounced Hemalurgy, but he himself had a Spike. So, when he realized what ship he’d boarded on First of the Sun, he feared that his secret would be discovered by the ships’ Hemalurgist. What would they think when they found out that the stranger who’d appeared on their ship and denounced their creation, was a product of Hemalurgy himself? They wouldn’t care that he’d received the spike not out of his own free will. They would only see him as a hypocrite. And he would agree.
  13. I’m tempted to join this vote on Elkanah, but as far as I’ve seen @Devotary of Spontaneity hasn’t said anything in response to my stab vote, so I’ll keep it there until they respond.
  14. My thoughts exactly! Also, hey Aman! It’s been awhile since I’ve played a game with you! Please don’t pocket me again
  15. Yes, votes are done by putting the name in red. If you change your vote, you put your previous votes name and green and the new in red.
  16. Lafay and Ola looked around the ship. The space-fairing vessel was filled with a crew of many inexperienced world-hoppers, and very little things made any sense as it currently stood. The one thing that they both knew though, was that the ships Hemalurgist better keep the Intelligence under control. If they didn’t he’d be very, very disappointed, mainly because they held meetings together, so how could they fail in their task? ”Well Ola, I think we should just relax and pray to any Shards that are listening that we make it to Silverlight safely,” Lafay sighed, sitting down in the vessels mess hall, Soothing the anxiety of any of the new crew members that passed him. “I mean, we aren’t technically supposed to be on this ship.” They’d managed to sneak on board at First of the Sun’s port. They hadn’t had time to actually officially register themselves on the ship, they’d been too busy being chased by angry trappers. Most likely because he’d tried to steal their Aviar, and apparently Soothing wasn’t too helpful against angry islanders. ”How can you say that Lafay?” Ola responded, shocked. “We are on a ship that’s the first of it’s kind! Sure, the Intelligence was made with Hemalurgy, which you don’t exactly approve of, but it’s basically like an artificial spren!” Ola’s excitement worried him, after he’d sworn the Fifth Ideal, she’d returned somewhat to her normal self. More and more interested in the worlds they visited. It wasn’t a bad thing, but the amount of times he’d had to leave a planet for a few years because she’d revealed herself to a non-Cosmere aware person were too many to count on any of his fingers or toes. Now he worried that’d she would go try to strike up a conversation with the Hemalurgic Intelligence. ”Okay, calm down,” Lafay started, wishing he could Soothe this storming spren of his. “I need you to promise me something, Ola. Don’t go try to talk to the Intelligence, for all we know, it might try to add you to it’s collection of minds. And I’d rather not find out what that would mean for me!” ”Fine, fine,” she reluctantly agreed. ——————————————————————————————————————— Alright, this game has started off... interesting. @Devotary of Spontaneity I see you browsing, what are your thoughts? Devotary Anyways, poke vote out of the way... welcome new players!! I hope you have fun getting betrayed and viciously murdered playing the game! Also, considering I’m currently doing a Cosmere re-read in anticipation for Rhythm of War and I’m in school right now, I might be less active during this game. So my apologies, I still try to check the thread once or twice every turn, though! EDIT; ninja’d by Illwei
  17. Alone Thomas hadn’t believe in God. He’d never seen the point in having faith in something you couldn’t see. He’d found out when he’d died, that their was a God. He also learned that Earth was just God’s failed project. So he decided to kill him, and that he did.
  18. Ventyl the larkin steals everyone’s investiture and *wins*
  19. Then it is changing into future tense. It will stay this way for as long as it can.
  20. But alas, there was only two survivors. A lone checker, and the rook who could move one space diagonally.
  21. He may have visited during the time between the False Desolation and Present day Roshar, when there were either no Radiants or few, excluding the Skybreakers.
  22. A Worldhopping adventure? In the FUTURE??? You know Lafay Etteax will be signing up for this game. Maybe if I get a new role this game, besides being a Radiant and double Misting, I can expand upon Lafay’s line up of Cosmere magics.
  23. Yay! My first Elim win, even although I was dead for half the game, this still feels good! @Ashbringer I look forward to being opposing neutral roles with you ! Anyways this game was fun, though I haven’t been keeping up with it, so I’ll go read what happened to see just how glorious our victory was. @Matrim's Dice Like I said about, I had a blast. I’m a little bummed I was lynched so early, and by RNG, but I was glad that I got to be in such a stacked Elim team! Hopefully me and you can be elims together again? So, I hoped I had caused enough chaos with my death to help cover for my team mates!
