Long Game 67: The Road to Urithiru
Ookla-son-son-Ventyl replied to Straw's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I did say that my theory was mostly tinfoiling but I thought there could be some possibility. Your unwillingness to let anyone defend you is interesting, though to be fair I did say I still have my suspicions of you. Though, I won’t take my vote of @A Joe in the Bush because I really don’t have any other ideas as to who could be an elim. Because, your unwillingness is giving me some slight village vibes. Normally, an elim would probably welcome any defense that is given to them, so either you’re being very clever and are an elim, or being very clever and are village. I’m leaning more towards village now, but I’m not sure. -

My thought was that, there is probably at least one villager for each order. Maybe two for some like Willshaper and Bondsmith. Then the there are probably five or six elims. So probably two or three of them have roles. So that’s about 14-15/24 players with roles. Just a little bit over half, which in my mind is a majority. Another thing I’ll add is that I don’t think Squiring would be the main part of the game. I think it’s supposed to be more based around the Radiants themselves. I mean the Surge a squire gets is completely random, so if they got Abrasion instead of say, Divison, they wouldn’t really be that useful. A lot of the Surges aren’t that great without one of their pairings so, that’s my thought process on why I think a majority of the players are Radiants. Also, welcome @xinoehp512 to the chaos that this game has become! -

Alright, first off, I have stated a few times that I’m completely fine with somebody role scanning me, I’ll be Squiring during the night turn. So even if I had an ability that could let me avoid it, I won’t be able to. If the person I squire turns out to be a Radiant, then I will try again, but whoever scans me will be able to scan me this night turn, that is, if I live or not. Now, I’ll bullet my response in the same order as yours: Honestly, I could care less about being told not to roleclaim. My playstyle whenever I have had a role, and no matter what alignment I’ve been has always been me trying to get information about everybody. It’s usually what gets be killed though... Anyways, considering as PM’s weren’t opened yet I decided to not only try to get a role trade later on in the game, but also generate lots of discussion. Which I generally believe is good for the village, even if I’m not that great at doing it. Though in this case, I actually did make quite a lot, even if I’m guaranteed to die in the next few cycles, if not this one. Although I’d rather not die, considering I have a pretty good role, I think. I’m completely fine with dying as long as whoever I squire isn’t an elim and gets my more useful Surge. What could I gain? Information, depending on the people who have strongly pushed for my lynch, such as yourself, when I flip village we’ll have a clearer lynch target. Because, if the elims knew that there was a claimed Radiant, why wouldn’t they want to get a mislynch on them, and save their kill? I’m pretty sure at least one of the elims would vote for me, considering they wouldn’t want to risk having to use their kill on somebody who could possible have Abrasion. This is the main reason for my suspicions of you, and also as a few others have pointed out, you seem much different than in QF45. The reason I’m adamant about proving my role, is that it’s easier to do that than to prove my alignment. The only sure fire way to do that is to get alignment scanned. And also, I am worried about squiring an elim. Even though only one of my roles would actually be useful for them, I’m sure they already have it. Maybe not in the same order, but another order that has it. Now, in the last bit of your post, I get a strong village read. You say that if your were an elim, your teammates would drop votes on Striker or Gears. What’s funny is that after this post, people did drop more votes on Striker at least. This seems like an easy elim way to frame an already up for lynch villager. Because of this I’m no longer inclined to think of you so much as an elim. You still have my suspicions TJ Shade, but I’d much rather vote on some body who voted on Striker after you made the post above. Such as A Joe in the Bush, who is the first one to vote on Striker about an hour after your post. This leaves time for him to discuss the idea of framing you in the elim doc. In the post that he votes on Striker he also says that he’d be fine with voting on Gears too... Seems a little suspicious when you realize that TJ had said that the elims would probably vote on those two to save him? To be fair, I could be reading way to much into this, but I think this has some merit to it. -

I think that if the elims do have Gravitation, it’s in the form of a Windrunner. Also, I thought that just came to me is that it probably wouldn’t be a good idea for any Dustbringers or Skybreakers to Squire, unless you have a really strong read on someone. Giving the elims Division would not be good, but then it could also lead to the death of an elim after they use the extra kill, because they person who Squired them would know who they gave it too. So really, unless you know someone’s been alignment scanned and you trust the person who did the scan, don’t Squire if you’re a Dustbringer/Skybreaker. -

It was supposed to be funny joke... but yeah I get it. I don’t necessarily think Elbereth is elim though. -

I was going to Squire you for no other reason than that you were the first to take your vote off me IIRC. And anyone who doesn’t want to kill me is a friend in my book! Not much of a good reason, but I don’t really have any solid village reads right now, and El is the closest one. Also, you’re right, I probably will die this cycle no matter what happens, so maybe I shouldn’t squire. But if anyone wants me dead, considering Gravitation, even if I had a way to survive it wouldn’t matter. Just, I hope I don’t die. I’ll probably put a hold on my Squiring until I know I’m safe. -

@Elbereth I hope you’re not a Radiant, because I’m going to Squire you. -

Alright, I’ll think of someone to squire. @Straw if I squire this turn, the target gets the power the same turn right? EDIT: If someone has a protection role, I would appreciate it if you would use it on me, because I won’t be able to use my Surges after I squire. EDIT 2: Also, if someone has an alignment scan, go ahead and scan me. I have nothing to hide. -

I don’t know how I should feel about this post. But at least my post has done it’s job. I’ve generated a lot of discussion! Though, it’s also backfired a little bit, because now I’m going to die soon... Come on guys, I just want to live for a whole game for once! -

I’m talking about a different post, I think it was a little earlier. And also, if I’m telling the truth about not being a Willshaper, that still leaves nine other orders that I have the possibility of being. I don’t think letting them know I’m a Radiant is a big deal, because I’m going to guess that the majority of players are Radiants so would it really be a surprise? This post is giving be a bad feeling about you TJ Shade. It’s mostly a gut read, but this seems like it could be an elim tactic to make people think you’re a villager. I know you’re a new player, but think about your reasoning. Would an elim purposely paint on a target on their back? Sure it could be an elim IKYK situation, but it could easily backfire and get them lynched. Which in my case, I’ll probably end up dying tonight. -

There are a few things I want to say to this. One, I didn’t necessarily roleclaim, I’ve just (anti-roleclaimed?) said I’m not a Willshaper. If I was a Willshaper, we’d be seeing Lafay instead of Valas. Yes, I know. This is very chaotic. Which I think no one here should be surprised by. If Araris is crazy with their votes, then I’m like the Araris of everything else. Two, I usually like to roleclaim to someone, just because even when I’m village I like to know or have an idea of whose role is what. When I gather this information, it helps me make better decisions and in some cases will impact my reads. For instance (this happened to be in LG66), if two village Lightweavers were killed, and someone was claiming Lightweaver, either they are lying or are an elim!Lightweaver. I necessarily don’t like voting based off of role distribution, but I can see the reasoning behind it. And I wouldn’t be against it if I was already suspicious of the person. ————————————————————————————————————————————————————————- Also, I don’t agree with either of the lynches. From what I know of my brother, this is just his normal playstyle, and he seems to always get immediate elim reads in every game he plays! And Gears, they were like this in the QF so I don’t think it’s particularly AI. Also I’ll take A Joe in the Bush‘s request in mind and take my vote of him. So unless there is a better lynch target by the end of today, I don’t think I’ll vote. -

Valas Etteax, formerly known as Valas Ananor before she married, was on the path to Urithiru. Not as a refugee as the others in the group might assume, but as some one to protect them. Albeit she couldn’t summon her Blade, as she knew there were men and women of the Diagram among this particular group. If this had been any other group, she would be clad in Plate right now, watching out for any incoming Singers or Listeners that might want to attack them. But thankfully, they’d already secured the Plains. The only real threats out here were highstorms, chasmfiends, and Diagramist. -

Considering my role, it would be good for the village for me to know someone’s role or have an idea of it. EDIT: This doesn’t mean I want anyone to roleclaim in thread, but when we get PM’s I can offer my services to anyone I trust. -

My vote on Joe is a poke. Also, I’m curious about @Araris Valerian’s vote on me. Considering I think pokes should really only be used to get people who haven’t posted to post something, I don’t see a reason for it, as I’ve already posted. I’ll number my responses to your thoughts on me in the same order you gave them; 1. Yes it does! (Maybe I can get this to be a new thing! ). And that part was really just supposed to advertise my amazing acronym, though considering that it’s already back-fired and gotten you suspicious of me, maybe there’s a reason no one uses anything similar. 2. I was just saying that using midway through seems like you would have a better chance of protecting yourself from actions. I’m trying to think of an analogy for it but struggling... I’l get back to that when I think of one. I’m still angry, my first game as an elim, ruined... -

I find it funny that @Gears is becoming the new Xino (I wonder what Xino thinks...). Anyways, I think the role analysis we have so far is helpful and none of it is RI or AI. So it may be helpful for those who are confused about their roles, but I don’t think it will generate much discussion. Though, I’m about to contradict myself. I think that anyone who has Abrasion should probably use it during the middle of the time periods between Stormlight refills. Unless of course you think you’ll be targeted. And to say something about claiming, I think Truthwatchers and Edgedancers should be careful, y’all are the only protection roles in the game. But given that, that means we have at least one village protection. I doubt that if there is only one Edgedancers and Truthwatcher, that they’d both be on the elim team. So I think we have at least one village protection, maybe two if there is two Edgedancers and/or Truthwatchers. Well I’ll pace a poke vote on A Joe in the Bush (@A Joe in the Bush). I would’ve posted it on Ashbringer out of frustration from the last LG, but they’ve already posted . -

Quick Fix 45: To Set an Example
Ookla-son-son-Ventyl replied to Orlok Tsubodai's topic in Sanderson Elimination
What I meant in regards to your post before this, is that after seeing other players analysis of your post I genuinely agreed with them, in the sense that you could be an elim. Also you’re taking my post out of context, I said I didn’t see a difference in whom we lynch because we’d get relatively same information. If you’d be lynched and flipped elim, Pyro would’ve also seemed like one. If you’d been lynched and flipped village, I’d think Pyro was village. If Pyro had flipped elim, I’d think you’d be one too. Since he was village, I’m more leaning towards village!TJ. This post probably only makes sense to me, but it’s fine . As for my vote, I’ll put it on Frozen Mint, considering that it looks like me and them are going to be the main lynch targets of this cycle. I’m not too suspicious of them, I think a better lynch would be Gears, but I doubt that’s going to go anywhere.- 589 replies

I disagree, I think Striker has a point. Considering how many people are voting on you it would not give us a whole lot of information on to why. This could be an elim tactic to try to not get TJ lynched C2- 589 replies
