Well, so the mission did not work as planned. It has cut the Connection, obviously, but how does a partal success and a backfire allow us to conclude that a full success was achieved? And if it worked, why did they just abandon her prison?
-
There seems to be some kind of consensus that the Knights Radiant captured Ba-Ado-Mishram based on plans found in the crystal library. Yet do we ever have a report of success? They abandoned Urithiru. So, did they fail?

4) Restares is cleaning up. The highprinces have outlived their use yet they know too much. If you want a dominant Vorin church, Alethkar itself will have to be united. Jasnah is enough of a realist that she will make a deal, if the advantage she gains is large enough. So Restares has to get rid of the now harmful divisive elements and silence the loose ends. She thought she could ride the tiger, but she slipped. What Gavilar suspected actually has been happening to the highprinces.

Technically we cannot know that she returned there, as opposed to a normal teleport Do you really want to propose that Transportation does two completely different things based on how you use it And do you really want to propose that the oath gates, which you can use to transfer to Shadesmar, really do something else again, but only in one of their modes?

We have little evidence of that. In particular we have no evidence comparing them operating on the same fuel.Among the things we have seen Fused do there is nothing a Radiant could not do, except for the carapace thing. Maybe not as long, but the ability is basically identical. No Radiant ever tried to change his or her body. Whether it would work is an open question. We have seen no Radiant with a carapace and being capable of using Progression Well, no. He was taking nothing with him. The body was remade. Absolutely, I do. Exactly. Why then is everybody transported in the form they actually were and not in a spiritually ideal form? How can Transportation affect extremely invested objects? Or we use the alternative explanation that he was using Progression or a power granted by a Form of Power.

We can look at the release dates of translations. Then we have an exact date for the German translation: 2020-11-23. The Spanish version is supposed to be released on the "same week" (You have to trust my Spanish on this - so somebody please check). We can safely conclude that you cannot translate a book of that size in a week. It likely depends on the size of the target market.

The Conundrum of Conjoiners: an Analysis of Navani's Airship
Oltux72 replied to Pagerunner's topic in Cosmere Discussion
That means that directions are relative. The basic information is there. It means that while the fabrial is off, you can turn it around. Hence we can be sure that aluminium is not needed for that. It also means that we just cannot look at the reed alone. The board seems to be what you call the "cage" in conventional fabrials. -
But it isn't pierced. She did not fight. She would go down in flames.
-
No Highprince would allow that. Remember that Dalinar made preparations for fighting his way out of a party should Elhokar make a move to arrest him. Exactly. She could just have not been there or posted more guards. She had evidence that people were moving against her peers and guards would be of no use. Mraize being present among her guards shows that she is helpless against infiltration by Ghostbloods. It looks to me like she had given up, but the inevitable then indeed came, but not by her own hand.

Against the rest of the Knights Radiant by presuming what they may consider important or not.
-
To put it bluntly, this is treason. You have information that the whole structure of the universe is different and you hide that from your fellow Radiants and allies?
-
Or that is a result of them being calling the Everstorm. Do we really want to introduce yet another form of Investiture into Roshar? It is mentioned in connection with smokeform, however, it is called one among several forms of power. Taln had returned. Technically the Desolation had started. Why not take the simple explanation that Odium has alreadty been able to open the taps of Voidlight?
-
That would be extremely surprising. How else did they power thousands of Stormform in the middle of the Weeping while their gem stones are uncut and hence inferior?
-
Envpyform has Connection like Dalinar. Other Forms of Power are described as "like Surges of Men". And he does not mimic a known Surge. That is circular reasoning. After one year of Desolation and half a decade on the Shattered Plains?

Runner-Fu? The use of arcane powers during unarmed combat
Oltux72 replied to Oltux72's topic in Cosmere Discussion
No, you do not lash parts in different directions. You apply a Basic Lashing and a Full Lashing. Not the same Surge twice and differently, but two different Surges, Gravitation and Adhesion.. -
We have seen Jasnah use it. And it looked like an oath gate, not like what the Fused did. I fully agree, this is not Transportation. One heretical thought, are we sure that was a Fused, not a Regal?
-
Part of that answer is in Oathbringer. Kalami reports that gold and copper constructs were considered to be fabrials. It is highly likely that these metals are commonly used for fabrials.
-
That would be quite expensive an operation just to mess with Kaladin. And if he really wanted to do that, why take Roshone, not Laral? And that opens the other can of worms. Remember when Sigzil asked about the status of Bridge Four? "Can Dalinar call us up against one of his vassals?" This has the same issue. Can you deny the other monarchs the use of their Radiants as auxillary police forces, once you grant that right to Jasnah? If not, how do you propose the keep the Knights Radiant united? General Khal said it: You would face regional headquarters of the Knights Radiant being set up everywhere. At the risk of repeating myself, the only politically acceptable way out of this is a slaughter. Some question must not be answered and hence not asked. And doing this based on Shallan being Jasnah's ward is also not an option. It would set the precedent of the ranking Lightweaver being subordinate to the Elsecallers. Jasnah really did not trust Shallan when using the notes to reinforce her dominance. That other party would have to identify the spy though.
-
That raises a question. If a KR visited the Nightwatcher, would adding a boon and a course make his or her resonance go away due to too many abilities?

Unpopular Brandon Sanderson Opinions
Oltux72 replied to not an Evil Librarian's topic in General Brandon Discussion
If we were talking about his own secrets. But we are not. His method of keeping research unpublished involves a sword. -
There is a cult of secrecy among the Alethi and Jasnah really embodies it. What could be sensitive enough about her trip to Shadesmar that she keeps it a secret even from her own family? And what is this going to do to the concept of sharing information relevant to the war effort among members of the coalition? Does Jasnah suspect a mole?
-
Based on him breathing in Stormlight and using Gravitation, the conclusion that he is real is extremely hard to avoid. Well, do Dalinar and by implication Radiant really want to make accepting that the Knights Radiant may arrest a High Prince(ss) a precondition for being a good member of the coalition? Uniting them would look different. Do they care? If the spy stops reporting, the hole is plugged.
