Mid-Range Game 32: The Blight Encroaches
Furamirionind replied to Fifth Scholar's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Yeah, I didn't see your question in-thread though... So when I saw in in the clarification, I thought it happened in a PM. Once I learned it was in-thread, I stopped thinking you were Mat... I was making the assumption you would have one of the unique roles though. : ) Though now that I know your actual role, it makes sense why that was given to you over a different one, as this is your first SE game I think. Granted, I don't think you played this as if it was your first.- 583 replies

Mid-Range Game 32: The Blight Encroaches
Furamirionind replied to Fifth Scholar's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I found it so funny that everyone (including me) still referred to Steel as Rand, even though it was confirmed by him being protected last night. As the only way to be protected then was through the green man. I mean, I was just hoping that the elims didn't catch that detail... But I have literally know idea why they wouldn't lol. Also, in the early game, I was so convinced Karn was Mat based purely on a question posed in the rules clarifications: I analysed this question in my GM PM, with a question attached to try to get confirmation it was Karn who asked this... I got the confirmation, and the redirect back to the post in thread where Karn asked this publicly. Lol. I really wanted to start talking in PMs, so I was trying to figure out who Mat was at that point... But if there was a Mat, I am betting it was STINK/Joe...- 583 replies

Mid-Range Game 32: The Blight Encroaches
Furamirionind replied to Fifth Scholar's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Well... yeah, kind of. : ) HH was confirmed not Rand at that point I think, so there was still no proof that the green man was active... There was 2 parts to it, 1 I wanted to not sound like I knew who the green man was... I may have failed, but that was the attempt... and 2, I assumed if the elims knew who the Green Man was, that would be their first target. Joe and Sart weren't super active in-thread, so I was hoping that in an attempt to save their life, an elim would claim green man, gambling on one of those 2 being the green man (assuming they weren't elims). It was really late in the cycle I think, and there wasn't much chance of them surviving anyway, so I don't think taking a gamble like that would really hurt from the elim's perspective. In retrospect, it was probably a bit transparent, but I was at work when I wrote it, and likely didn't think it through to the best of my ability.- 583 replies

Mid-Range Game 32: The Blight Encroaches
Furamirionind replied to Fifth Scholar's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I was still suspicious of Aman especially after the part that assumed the doc was infiltrated, so that would have made me push for Aman's lynch... However, with him being hardy, it wouldn't make much difference. : / Steel would probably pick Aman or Mark as the possible Aginor then, and neither would be correct... So we still lose. : / lol. I tried to get MrDoctor to claim Green Man, but when he didn't, I was certain he was either Moiraine or an elim. I was tempted to try to save his life by voting on myself... But I was concerned that with vote manip, I would end up dying... And if I died, I was sure Rand would be close after (and with Steel being attacked that night, it was probably a good assumption) Though with no vote manip that night, I am still beating myself over it... Granted, that is knowledge gained in retrospect. : /- 583 replies

Mid-Range Game 32: The Blight Encroaches
Furamirionind replied to Fifth Scholar's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Oh, so the fact that the village trusted CadCom was the problem... I suppose Steel didn't target CadCom meaning there was no death... Then who did you kill? Me, I expect... As the Green Man, my death would mean Steel's next turn, and things would spiral...- 583 replies

Mid-Range Game 32: The Blight Encroaches
Furamirionind replied to Fifth Scholar's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Ok... There were 9 players left, they get 1 kill/night... They have no creature or anything. we have 9 players, the only way the elims could have won without people dying from secret rules is if there are 4 elims alive... Padan Fain, 2 Agents, Aginor. But even then, if Rand hit Aginor tonight, we would still have a shot. I haven't done the math, but I think it would still be possible for the village to win with 4 elims alive... Rand also can't be dead tonight... But if he was, the game might as well be over... I find it hard to believe there were 4 elims alive though. It must be 3. : /- 583 replies

Mid-Range Game 32: The Blight Encroaches

Ok... So we lost I presume... : / Oh well... Twas a fun game. : ) Wait... I suppose I will understand once we see the rollover... But I don't understand how we lost... Oh... We won? Rand must have hit Aginor and killed him, and there actually wasn't any agent of blight? I was so convinced there was an agent of blight... Good Game, regardless how this goes. edit: Sorry Drought!- 583 replies

Long Game 51: A Traitor in the Obligators

Snipexe ITIAH Maill being "bizarre" doesn't seem strange from what I have learned about them... In my discussion with them in PMs, they sound like they have good reason to suspect Snipexe... However, I know that at least 1 of 3 people are lying: Snipexe, ITIAH, and Maill. Maill talks a lot, and my gut tells me Snipexe it telling the truth right now. Edit: ninja'd Rath -

I have been trying to identify whether or not I think Snipexe is trustworthy, but as of right now, I have several reasons to think he is lying, and no reason to think he is telling the truth... However I look forward to my opinion potentially changing... Snipexe -

Lol, I understand your confusion Karn. I have been really busy lately, and have had some pretty serious medical issues over the past week or so... so what you got a glimpse of there was a piece of my mind. I literally wrote down what I was thinking and posted it. The reason you are confused, was I started assuming every person in the game was a Thug. Then subtract the dead, subtract players confirmed to be not a thug, then subtract players of other roles assuming one of those roles, subtract a couple more for probable role duplicates, subtract some for the roleless... and you see the result before you. A Fura approved estimate of 3-4 thugs. : ) -
Umm... Honestly, I don't know. I joined the GhostBloods less than 24 hours before Mraize left... Anyway, people disagreed on who in the guild held power. That is all I know. If you wish to ask Mraize himself, you can ask Ookla the Meeker

Long Game 51: A Traitor in the Obligators
Furamirionind replied to Straw's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Well, at most, I think it is safe to say there are no more than 13 Thugs... According to what I have heard from other people, no more than 10. This is assuming none of several roles... 9, 8, 7... roleless… 6, 5... I think 5 thugs maximum, probably more like 3-4... so a 1/5 chance of hitting the seer? idk. Probably worth lynching ITIAH... I just don't want to... -

This is the line that gets me... You are saying your argument is flawed from anyone else's perspective. This would imply that it isn't flawed from your perspective.- 583 replies

Mid-Range Game 32: The Blight Encroaches
Furamirionind replied to Fifth Scholar's topic in Sanderson Elimination
With how this argument between the two of you has been going, I am inclined to think that one of you is probably an elim… However I do think it is flawed logic to assume the doc is compromised. I have assumed in my role analysis that there is an elim in Moiraines circle, but that is because, as a game mechanic, it would be interesting to see the elims decisions, as at a certain point, perhaps the player should be sacrificed to deal more ring damage. As far as the village goes, would the village be willing to keep a known elim alive to prevent damage to the ring? There are situations where these strategies could be taken into account, and that is why I think there would be one in Moiraine's Circle, game mechanic. As far as the warriors, why would you assume there is an elim in that doc? With 3 docs, it doesn't make sense to assume there is an elim in there "just because". There is a very good chance that at least 1 doc doean't have an elim. Not more of a chance that each doc having an elim, but just as much of a chance. EDIT: @Amanuensis: What about your perspective makes it so obvious there is an elim in the doc?- 583 replies

Furamirionind replied to Fifth Scholar's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I don't think Moiraines Circle is as much of a roadblock for the elims as you assume. I wouldn't assume there isn't an elim purely because they haven't been targeted. Perhaps going after Moiraines circle would reveal the elims too much. There are only 2 people left in Moiraines Circle now anyway.- 583 replies

Welcome to the Shard! What books have you read/listened to so far? Which of those is your favorite so far? If you had to choose 1 magic system from Brandon's worlds that you could use, which one would it be? Do you enjoy role playing and/or games and/or mafia and/or killing your friends while smiling and laughing maniacally? (...Too much?)

Ok, so we get rid of the public seat, and replace it with the chancellorship... which any individual not running for Rep can run for, and to which every (individual or guild?) Can vote for? Edit: I think it is best to stick with the guild votes based on what the members think.

The guilds that archer has down are not the options, but the results. Any guild with at least 1 person counting towards it, Archer has put down. If you wanted to count for the Church of the Stick, you could Ninjad

מק = Mac in Hebrew... but technically in Hebrew you often dont wright the vowels... so if you were to read the letters above, it would read as "M-c"

@Mailliw73 STINK was also in MR32, however ended up dropping out of it due to computer troubles. As I dont think they have gotten on the shard since they posted having computer issues, I think they likely may still be occurring. -
Why dont we let ask Mac to come back? I like him. He wrote my post for me

@MacThorstenson the only things not on there right now are: The "Chancellor system". Where we have an extra normal rep elected to the "public seat". These reps then vote for a chancellor from among themselves. (All this person does is break ties if they happen). This thought is new (just above): Guilds should be able to replace their representatives in between elections to make sure the reps aren't betraying their guild. If this were to be the case, it should be limited to a 1 time action. If elections are scheduled at proper intervals though, that should remove the need for this... (I dont like it, but it is something worth addressing) That should be everything discussed then... I think the only thing we havent discussed that we need to is how often elections should be. (I dont have enough experience in the allyverse to talk about this I think...) (I would also like to hear other people on the replacing reps idea other than Karn) Mac, thank you so much for writing this for me! You just gifted me 30-60 minutes more sleep tonight. : )

Fair point. I think officially we could just say that reps can be replaced, and see what happens. If it is damaging to the gov, then they can probably just pass a law saying that it shouldn't be allowed to happen as often. If we were to apply a restriction, it would probably be that a rep can be replaced once or twice per term in office. I don't want to have any influence over how other guilds choose their reps. I agree that should 100% be an internal matter. I said this because it would require guilds to RP their removal of a rep... This would make removing a rep a bit of work, discouraging people from doing it purely because they can, and would possibly be another thing to RP. edit: In retrospect, It may actually encourage people to remove reps as it is something to RP... idk...
