  1. Only three? I think you need to recount . The stones, the wind, the night, the night watcher the storm father, the tower. That’s six potential bond smiths
  2. I think you’re forgetting some other factors. 1. There were those at court that feared Dalinar would take power. It isn’t inconceivable that his brother would’ve had similar fears. 2. king gavilar is a practical man. I’m sure he’d be willing to use that “traitor.” Temporarily. After his brother was dead after all, you do not have excuse to destroy the rift. 3. As you said yourself. Dalinar was unstable and Gavilar out of wars he could manufacture for him to fight. Honestly, even if this theory is untrue, I highly doubt. Gavilar would have let his brother live very much longer if he hadn’t allowed himself to become distracted from the thrill by gaining a dependency on alcohol.
  3. You forgot that Gavilar found out Tanalan lived years before the destruction at the Rift. Plenty of time for his brother to see an opportunity and send Sadeas to contact the Rift with a plan to kill Dalinar
  4. Actually, there is a theory that the rift was inside job an attempt at assassinating Dalinar by his brother and Sadeas. It Would explain many things.
  5. Is it just me or is anyone else getting major death flags from Adolin. I’ve seen a lot of people theorize that he will die this book and I haven’t believed it but reading this latest released chapter has me worried.
  6. I doubt he would show up again in interlude with the cool, interesting ability and curse if Brandon wasn’t planning on making him super relevant . Brandon doesn’t just introduce interesting in mysterious characters from no reason
  7. My theory is that she did the same thing she did to Lift but more so
  8. Well, in the original story, invisible man he is a thief and I do get strong, invisible men vibes from baxil. I can’t help, but wonder if he’s gonna become some sort of friend companion or something with Lift. I mean they are both former thief’s who were touched by cultivation Additionally, lift is probably the only one who can easily see or touch him.
  9. Oh Almighty, this is 1 interlude character. I thought would never come back. It was certain he was completely irrelevant and was only. Way to give us a POV of ash without giving away her true identity. Apparently I was very, very wrong. Looks like he’s become another one of cultivations pawns. In his original interlude in way of kings, he says plans to go to the night watcher so I think that yes cultivation did do this to him the question is what this is
  10. I’ve come up some more positive theory for how stormlight 5 could end. Dalinar it becomes honor Odium is shattered The next five books is trying out what to do with all the void spren that now infest roshar because of the shattering So how likely do you think this will happen?
  11. I suspected desire to destroy all other shards is built into the shard, not the vessel. That’s why each vessel find some reason to do it.
  12. I think you hit it directly on the nose. Shallan underestimate to ghost bloods they’ve been doing this this far longer than she has
  13. 1. The imprisonment of BaM 2. The founding of the oathpack 3. Death of honor 4. More about the Dawn shards 5. More hints at least about void binding. 6. The coming of humans roshare 7. The first desolation. 8. The betrayal of the spren by the singers 9. More of the old magic. 10. The origins of the Ameins
  14. It’s possible that Thaylin could be saved if the Nale turns against odium. Sky breakers follow him after all. If someone such as kal manages to turn Nale highly likely the sky Breakers would switch sides.
  15. Nothing to do against her directly, but he could go after her family or her team. We don’t know what agents or powers he has access to, so it’s hard to predict what he will do. Wit says that her family is safe and so we can assume that they won’t be in immediate target. But if I were him and I wanted to hide from shallan then I would move to destroy her team kill every other light Weaver, who hasn’t said the fourth ideal. There are alamancer who can drain someone of Stormlight if you happen to use one and got the element of surprise you could kill a knight radiant. It would be dangerous, but it’s possible. There are also some twin born and compounders who might be able to pull off the feat again so long as they have the element of surprise. hell if he has a steel compound under his command, he might be able to kill even a fourth ideal radiant
  16. The name could imply other things. There are also other options than him being involved in the in the conquest of champions. It’s possible.” passion Spren “ could foreshadow something completely different. For example, Adolin could bond with a void spren. Or he could possibly even join odium side as some sort of mole. That said I do agree the store can’t be completely bleak, it will have a satisfying ending, but one way or another Dalinar will not win the conquest of champions I suspect there will be something like the ending of The well of Ascension. Will come up with a win, but also a big loss or some big mistake probably related to the conquest of champions. I’m a little confused when was shallan ever harmed by odium?
  17. I’m confused didn’t he sepacifically say that he doesn’t regret it and that it was the right decision to make that by definition is not repentance
  18. I don’t think it will as I sit in the other part of my post. That being said, it really doesn’t matter what reasons he had for it. It still makes it up dishonorable act. My point was that he was not the most honorable person in the book by a longshot. As was falsely stated by the post I quoted. Yes, and they were acting in dishonor when they were doing so. Kal literally killed his spren when he did that. It was only by repenting and saying the words that he was able to regain his honor. Adolin has never done anything similar. I’m not saying that I believe he’s going to be the champion. I don’t or at least I believe we still have a long way to go before we have any proof of that. I am saying that to call him “ most honorable character” is completely false statement
  19. The man murdered another man in the fit of rage not exactly the most honorable man in the series Don’t think he will want to fight his father to the death, even if he is upset at him
  20. You underestimate the ghost bloods. I suspect mraize has already killed the other light weaver. Shallan we’ll see how stupid it was to think that she could just easily overcome the Ghost bloods and the end before to work out some sort of compromise with them by offering Lord Kelsier some sort of deal perhaps with the help of hoid what you are suggesting is impossible. Shallan hasn’t even seen any of the ghost bloods save for two. And she has no idea what identity they are using now. Or their locations except for that maybe perhaps it’s somewhere within the tower. Also not a guarantee. She has nothing. She could tell the sibling that could help them locate them.
  21. There is several problems with this 1. Being angry at his father is one thing but would he really be willing to kill him? 2. Would Adolin compromise progress of revival his blade is making by siding with odium? 3. Why would he betray his brother? 4. Why would he betray his friend Kaliden? 5. Why would he trust Travangion he knows he is the man who sent the assassin in white to kill him.
  22. Ok why in damnation chapter called passionspren I mean, does anyone have any ideas? Because there was nothing in it about passionspren Did I miss something or is Brandon hiding something? we know he doesn’t make titles arbitrarily so anyone have any idea?
  23. 1. Cultivation did not create the singer race and has no responsibility to to help them. In fact, you could argue that none of the shards have any responsibility to anyone on Roshar say for May the few that are directly sworn to them. 2. From a practical story standpoint, you can’t have the shards do too much or otherwise Things would resolve too easily. 3. I suspect that they could do more than they are doing much more, not solve everything of course but do more for people in general however, I leave there intent prevents them, convincing them that they can’t. They are limited in their thoughts and focused on their intent. 4. I think you misunderstand both either the arguments of the shards or the God works in mysterious ways argument as they are fundamentally different. The idea that God works in mysterious way is fundamentally that the plans and goals and perspective of God is so much beyond the understanding of humanity that we cannot truly comprehend it except for a vague general sense. How can I truly understand what justice means from the perspective of someone who sees the entire universe and exist beyond itself? How can I truly understand what mercy means to someone that exists beyond time and sees the only entire universe itself. His perspective a mystery to me so why should I expect to understand his ways? This is not the argument that the shards are making as we are seeing it from their perspective. They cannot realistically make an argument that they cannot understand their own perspective. Their argument is that by interfering even with the best intentions, they rob humanity of essential virtues, such as free, will mercy, creativity, progress, etc. this is a completely different argument.
  24. I would think it would be the opposite that they would be more easily able able to take control of the broken parshmen
  25. I always thought it’d be interesting for todium to bring in Dalinar as a sort of mediator between him and the cosmere that would be a good end for him not as odium but as advisor to odium
