  1. I don’t even think something like that could be hid unless they were so far away that took them generations to get in contact with the rest of humanity
  2. I doubt it. I think they would notice. If thousands of people magically appeared, especially with since some of them have golden skin at something that would make the broadsheets.
  3. Actually, I assumed it was kal ending. With that whole plot line based around going from one place to another do you have a series of boss fights and puzzles tell very RPG in fact I’ve even taken an inspiration from part of that plot line. It feels very much like going to a dungeon.
  4. Technically, speaking war light could be described as storm lights since it also comes from a storm
  5. I would argue that the main problem has already been solved. The main problem for the past five books has been how to stop the desolation and the answer has been what it always was from the beginning unite them. Retribution is the answer to the main problem of front half. I don’t see back half on doing that solution solving maybe than more negative aspects of it perhaps. But I don’t think the shard at least is going anywhere. It might change vessels or the current vessel might have a change of heart. (given what we know about era 4 Roshar I doubt both of these option options but they’re possible)
  6. 1. I mean that Roshar is clearly in a real state of war with the rest of the cosmere and is eagerly looking for a soldiers. I wasn’t thinking about the bribes only the war itself. We know that war of the rest of the cosmic is exactly what the current retribution wants. I can think of lots of ways for a storm like to end that don’t involve shattering retribution. 1. Contribution rejected its current vessel and picks another vessel. 2. Retribution object, current vessel, and becomes self-aware enough to exist without a vessel. 3. Our heroes evacuate from Roshar going to Ashen humanities birthplace in the system rebuilding it. 4. Our heroes evacuate Roshar and leave the system entirely 5. Some sort of agreement or truth is formed with retribution.
  7. You’re making some assumptions. First off you were assuming that the point of this series is to destroy or defeat retribution. I don’t think that’s going to happen regardless of how the series ends. In fact the whole point of Dalinar doing what he did was to produce a more mature shard. I doubt that this story would end with the destruction of that shard. Except for the fact, that specifically said that Roshar is that war, and that they recruit foreign people into their army in exchange for status in their society. That sounds much more retribution Then it does any other option.
  8. The conflict in era four suggests that Retribution we continue to rule Roshar into era 4 if so what will this mean for the knights Radiant?
  9. Peace have great vacation
  10. 1. To the best of my knowledge interracial sex was never considered icky just a betrayal of your racial heritage. Mentally I could be wrong, but I don’t know of primary sources that describe it as sepacifically, icky or sick. Immoral sure, but as I’ve already stated, we are not discussing morality. 2. Interracial sex and into species sex are completely different things. And I don’t know why you feel the need to compare them together. 3. People and human are different things I can recognize the buggers as people, but I don’t recognize them as human. They’re large hive mind insects, and I have no desire to have sex with them. 4. I don’t believe that something has to be human in order for me to identify with them. I identify with my dog sometimes and he is far from human. I identify with the buggers and they are in some ways less human than my dog. 5. That movie bombed for many reasons not the least was floating the idea of a romance between an ape and a human. If you look up any review for the movie you’ll find plenty of people that said that this strongly made them feel uncomfortable. 1. saying "You can’t tell me that didn’t make you feel sick." This is clearly an appeal to some hoped-for universal human morality. I don’t see the connection between sick and morality. I would feel sick if I saw someone eat rust for example I do not consider it particularly moral or immoral to eat rust. The feeling of sick is purely biological reaction true can be triggered sometimes by perceived immorality, but there is not a direct connection. 2. Appeal to the norm is a common logical fallacy. https://www.logicallyfallacious.com/logicalfallacies/Appeal-to-Normality The attempt to equate "normal" with "good" (or "abnormal" with "bad") is a typical attempt to support some hoped-for morality. You seem to be confused with stating a biological fact with making some sort of moral claim . Just because something is the norm doesn’t it is moral or immoral. I am not at this time, trying to make any moral claim more merely a biological one. Notice I did not say that it was particularly good that humans as a hole will not want to have sex with an ape only that it was inevitable that this would be the norm ( I do think it would be immoral to have sex with an ape even intelligent one, but this is not what I was saying in my post and and my moral view on this would be unaffected, even if the reverse were true, and it was the norm to instead have sex with apes)
  11. He was teleported to the cognitive realm by the device given him by wit
  12. Fair but that’s because ultimately a gay man and a straight woman are of the same species and has been demonstrated genetically that regardless of your orientation, you can recognize an attractive member of both the same and opposite sex. This would also hold true for similar species like singers, however not necessarily for more distant species, for example the buggers from Enders game We’re not batting morality here this is merely a discussion of whether or not will be comfortable with interspecies sex, and under what circumstance. If you wish to discuss sexual morality, I’m fine with doing so but this is not what this discussion is about. All I will say Further on the subject is, yes just because something sexual gives you the ick doesn’t necessarily mean that it is immoral However, neither does it mean that it is not immoral either. And neither doesn’t mean that this reaction is arbitrary. 1. The fact that sexual attraction tends towards reproduction is proof that it is not arbitrary. Yes I admit that biology is not the only factor in sexuality or sexual attraction. But I never said it wasn’t only that sexual attraction is not arbitrary. It’s not random even the parts of it that aren’t biological are often shaped by society the media and other environmental sources. Even if baboons were intelligent most humans would be reluctant to sleep with them. Yes I’m sure you can find some human somewhere who be willing to at least try sleeping with an intelligent baboon. But it would never be the norm for clear biological reasons.
  13. 1. Let me rephrase you cannot group them all under one umbrella and makes sense if like you have someone decide to instead spew nonsense then yes you say that they are all under one umbrella 2. We’re not talking just about Brandon Sanderson anymore. Lord of the rings and DC comics were not produced by Brandon Sanderson. 3. Recognizing someone as people and having sex with that person or very different things. A gay man can recognize woman as people and still get the ick if someone tried to come on him. 4. Buy your own admission you don’t find orcs hot. Am I to assume that you don’t recognize orcs people? 5. Just because Brandon Sanderson favors mostly humanoid intelligence doesn’t mean that’s the same for every single author everywhere. And even he has sleepless. I doubt we’ll ever see a romantic pairing with them. 6. He is not seen arbitrary about sexual attraction. There are biological reasons why some things give you ick and others don’t.
  14. Superman and elves and startreck aliens are mostly humans. Just because you are fine with them don’t mean that you are ok with a human and troll or human and a baboon. You can’t just generalize all interspecies relationships under one unbrella
  15. There is a lot of legends of a civilization living at the origin. Including the story of the wonder set which we found out was actually from an older fisherman copied down by ishar. While it’s possible that these legends are just that legends, but there’s the question of where the soldier soldiers that took tried to kidnap retributions family came from. Is it possible that these are the people of the origin? Perhaps no one could find them because cultivation was somehow hiding the island? Could they be forced to join with the rest of the world now that cultivation fled the planet?
  16. Yes I think it will be like that I think we have already seen foreshadowing of this in RoW and TaW
  17. I suspect that there is going to be a small religion that believes kaladin is not that and will return most of the characters. I predict will laugh at them with maybe a few, considering the possibility until at least the end of book 2.
  18. What do you mean you’re confused? It seems to me like you summed up pretty well. What is there to be confused about?
  19. The problem with utilitarianism is the same problem with nale you take one aspect of morality and exalted above all other parts of morality ignoring the morality is not just one thing. This is why there is not just one radiant order but many. morality isn’t just about doing good any more than it’s just about keeping your word. Retribution confronted her, supposing that her morality had more aspects to it than utilitarianism. It also had loyalty loyalty to her country loyalty to her family. These things have no place in her philosophy, though, so her argument fell apart.
  20. I actually think this is why odium revealed his plan to take the city by force the fact that he had hidden fused hiding in the ferry foundations of the city. He wanted to corner her show her that even if she managed to take the city by force, he would just take it back. Any plan she Could you plant you would make he was a step ahead. Additionally, she was seeing her entire world view come apart in front of her, which was probably somewhat distracting
  21. We do actually there ideals are more like goal, or great deeds that they swear to accomplish
  22. I really like the debate actually it was well played on both sides but it would be unrealistic for Jasnah to win not only was going against a somewhat with excess to nearly infinite knowledge and can see the future but was also a talinted politician, philosopher and debater
  23. The everstorm can also be used
  24. I don’t think any shard has a dawn shard of they did the other as would much more concerned
  25. No you clearly didn’t let me show you Are honestly going to say that these people do not look mostly human?
