  1. I'm curious if Ahir in TWoK is possibly Kiin from Elantris. He specifically says in TWoK "I've lost my Passion for cooking." Kiin had a strong passion for cooking in Elantris. Why else would Brandon put Passion in Italics? I asked Brandon about this instance and he tried to side track me by saying "there is a Dula in TWoK." I kept trying to pressure him if I was correct on this theory and didn't get anything back more than "I have neither confirmed or denied any other world hoppers besides Hoid and the Dula." What's your thoughts on Kiin=Ahir? Remember the Ahir is found in an interlude and is studying with a woman the different spren. Seems like someone trying to gain knowledge.
  2. That after a 6 month probationary time the company I work for is going to be officially offering me a position. Woot for pay increase, vacation time, and benefits.
  3. It's like 25 dollars to go to. http://ltue.org/LTUE_2011.html
  4. Ah it's always scary when you see a post about you and you had no idea. LOL. I'll gladly help out to the best of my ability with this assignment. Just let me know what your expectations are for me and I'll do it.
  5. Thursday 5:10-7:40 JKB Room 3016 Is what it shows on the website.
  6. Sounds like this year if you aren't a student you may not even find a spot to just stand and learn. Sad... I'll still give it a shot each week. If I get in, awesome I get to learn from one of the best; if not I'll have to start saving my pennies and go to one of the classes he teaches with David Farland.
  7. Cool, I'll be doing the same. I'm half tempted to record what he teaches since we don't know how much longer he will be teaching this class. It would be a shame to lose all that knowledge. I know I have a few friends that will be there also but they have all taken the class as a student.
  8. I've said it before on another thread but I'll say it again.... There are a few of us on here who have read other books and there is a specific character in one of those said books who specifically tells Hoid that he will not meddle with things. Chaos and I have been talking about it and we agree that the letter was written to this non-meddling character. We've don't want to spoil things to bad, but it is not Galladon or anyone in his published work ( I say that tongue in cheek because I haven't fully thought out if this non-meddler is a minor character that shows up as a world traveler in other books(since Brandon did say there are other characters traveling around other than Hoid.)) I hope that somewhat puts things to rest, hopefully soon we can bring more information out in the open about it or Brandon will confirm what we have asked with out him saying "that's an interesting observation" and smiling.
  9. Anyone else planning on attending his class this semester? I'm going to be heading there just wondering if I would be running into any one else there.
  10. http://damnyouautocorrect.com A bit crude and swears but will make you cry because you are laughing so hard.
  11. So I started working on this tonight for a good practice. As part of my idea I'm writing a scene where ruin is talking to Zane. Do you think this is a bad idea since it's very loosely factional to the Mistborn book but very well could have happened in a fan fiction book? I know in the past he's been cool with fan fict. but I'm worried it would upset him. Any opinions? I'll shoot him and peter a message asking for permission but doubt I'll get a reply in time.
  12. I have to admit I would be interested in trying this out but alas I have no RPG experience ever.... So yeah i'm quite lost and probably would need alot of help to get started.
  13. I've got a list of questions in my notebook, but I prefer to hold them until signings. That way Brandon can't work on how to answer the questions. Plus I can see the re-action on his face. He's not very good at times at controlling his facial expressions. Especially if you call him on something that isn't obvious but is in the books hidden.

    Redshift?

It's a very very interesting concept to say the least.

    Redshift?

Peter, I don't know all the science behind it but I as for apart of the magic system I may be able to provide some ideas... Brandon has always stated that the DNA of the beings on his planets are different and that is what allows them to use magic. Maybe the DNA change also makes them able to handle the negative effects of the light shift or that the bodies of them adapted from being so close to the sun during the lord rulers reign that it litterally forced an evolution, or even Sazed knowing all saw this potential and made a change in the human physiology to account for this. It is hinted that Sazed made some changes (at least from what I remember from when I was reading a few years ago.)

  17. The press release I found was posted by Nethspace on twitter. Here is the link to it: http://bit.ly/giPw6o
  18. From the press release: Sanderson
  19. For further proof of lightweaving being used is when Hoid is telling the story in Warbreaker.
  20. Brandon asked that since TWG went down that we track all the typos for The Way of Kings. Please list any you find. Thanks
  21. We asked him later on if Lightweaving(a magic system found in Liar of Partinel) was what Hoid was using when talking to Kaladin. He said yes, but that there was more there than meets the eye. Which leads me to believe it's entirely plausible to blend multiple magics into one thing.
  22. "New Mistborn novel has a title. Mistborn: The Alloy of Law. Doing a quick revision here before sending it to my agent/editor." I could imagine Brandon doing something like that. You could also maybe shoot him an email and explain to him that you are going on a mission. Maybe he would let you be an alpha or beta reader. I can't guarantee anything but it's worth a shot. I would ask Peter if I were you.
  23. BrandonSandrson Mistborn Short Novel first draft is finished. 85k long. Out next fall. Blog post coming. Huzzah!
  24. 40K words generally in manuscript form is around 80-100 pages. But that changes drastically when put into print. It's hard to say how many pages it would be in print form because we don't know if they have plans to put it in hardback or paperback. That changes how many pages it will be.Ryan confirmed that it's around 60k words.
  25. BrandonSandrson posted on his twitter feed: Brandon Sanderson By the way, Tor really wants my Mistborn short novel. And so, it is official. New Mistborn novel in stores next year. We get a new book next year.
