Thesis=Dragonsteel according to everything I've read or heard. Interesting that he says we would know who Hoid is and it would be in his thesis. I know the version of I've read has a lot of interesting things about Hoid's character but it most definitely doesn't tell us "who" he is by any small means. That is unless I missed something and someone else who has read it can kindly point me to the spot I may have overlooked or there has been more recent revisions.... Which is entirely possible. If you have more information or want to discuss this with me send me a PM so we don't spoil things for everyone else.

It looks like there is a way but a feature is turned off. It looks like you can subscribe to certain forums and then it will only show notifications for those. setting

Even doing that they still show up in the list for view new content. Oh well, not a huge thing. Just more of a question. Thanks Chaos.

Is there away that as a user we can have it not show certain parts of the forums? For me for example I'm not a fan of the RP boards and hate seeing all the updates for them when I go to view new content. I know it's a trivial thing but just curious if it's in the realm of possibilities.

Has anyone asked Brandon if any of this has true meaning behind it or if its just something randomly there.

So over on Gollancz you can vote for what they deem to be some of the best in fantasy that they have published. I found it interesting that they put the Final Empire up instead of The Way of Kings. So I wanted to poll and see what the other sharders thought. I like the FE but felt tWoK was much better written and shows Brandon's progress as a writer over the years. The reason I bring this up because a couple people posted that they would vote for tWoK but not FE.

I'm way excited to announce that the book The Unremembered officially came out today. Being Peter's assistant is a lot of fun for me and makes me just as excited that it comes out. He pours his heart and soul into his projects. Trust me.

I remember Brandon saying the same thing that you can't pushed on invested objects. So I would say shard gear are invested objects at least until we learn more of their nature. Unless we can get Brandon to confirm this for us before we actually started. Do we give Vasher Nightblood or let Nightblood be his own entry?

What got me into fantasy, well that is very long and kind of funny story. My entire school carrer K-12 I never read a single fantasy book. I was you A-Typical jock that abhored anything that required the use of imagination. Heck I even remember making fun of fellow student for reading DragonLance. It wasn't until my Senior Prom when a buddy of mine whose dad is also a critic for movies had a copy of the first LoftR movie that we could watch. Something in that movie captured me and my mind to something greater than myself. I went out that morning when the Barnes and Noble opened up and bought The Hobbit and all 3 books in the series. I managed to finish all 4 only days before leaving on an LDS mission (which further fueled my imagination living in the world of the Maya.) After returning I picked up for my passion and have always been had my nose down in a book ever since. So long story short a book inspired movie peeked my first interest.

I agree with Chaos. It might even be nice to get a list of the characters we would most like to see in it, but that brings up the interesting concept of if Nightblood would be allowed to participate. Not technically a human but definitely a character or would it just be assumed that Nightblood is with Vasher? Oh and I think no Hoid for obvious reasons.

The funny thing is that BYU supposedly allows non-students to sit in on classes. As long as you aren't a distraction. I was suprised that they did that sort of thing to even begin with. They've slowly been making his class rooms smaller and smaller. But alas it would be a free class for a lot of people too though.

BYU is the biggest Nazi of Brandon's classes too as of late. They put him in a smaller classroom each month with less seats making it so if you aren't in the class you can't sit in it. Which is funny because there are a ton of classes where you can just go sit in and learn.

I have a feeling that Brandon wants a mystery that's obvious but would be over looked and dismissed as a silly scenario. This seemed to make the most sense to me. Also what if Szeth was sent to kill him with the intent of slowing the bridges down. What if Gaz is more than meet's the eye? How many times did we and do we continue to dismiss certain characters as unimportant to later realize that there is a much greater connection to something else. There has to be a greater story to it than what I think we know. But I can't back any of this theory up with factual information, just a gut feeling.

I think it was one of the people Szeth was sent to kill. The time frame is right and it's something that seems so obvious it's stupid.

Here's the first line to my short story I've been working on: "A slight breeze rippled the loose drawn draperies in the high office deep in the Citadel of the Rock." and from Ashes of Creation my novel: "Father will never forgive me for what I will do to him, then again that is if he can survive what will come to him."

Not that Brandon seems to enthusiastic about having Vin vs. Perrin in the finals. I voted for her though.

I went and saw it last night at midnight. I went in with a total expectation of it sucking. Amazingly it didn't suck. I enjoyed it, well worth the money but I'm still not sure on the overall arc of the story. Reminded me a lot of Fight Club where it's cool, but makes much more sense on a 2 or 3rd viewing. Amazing action though for sure.

Well I guess it squashes Passion as a shard on Roshar. Didn't know he had confirmed it yet. Was this an in person type thing or something that he wrote somewhere? I still think there is something more to be learned of Passion as a shard. Maybe the person that mentions it is from a world where Passion exists as a shard or something. Not sure.
