  1. I was severely confused in what time this turn ended. I should have time to catch up tomorrow before the end and cast a meaningful vote, but for now, I've only been skimming. I'll need to read the rules again as well before I can comment on strategy. From what I understand, the lynch is a no-majority, so even if we vote on no one, someone will be lynched. Also, we need to find someone and give them a significant number of votes (I'd venture to say at least 6), so we don't end up with an elim hammer on the GM. So yes, somebody has to be lynched today.
  2. I've struggled a bit to keep up with the discussion this cycle, due to training. I should be on in the last half-hour before rollover, and will just join the bandwagon. After today, I should be much more involved.
  3. It was a long walk to the shop to buy her scissors. It almost felt like it took days. Age was not kind to Era. Her bones felt more frail, her muscles feeble. At least her mind was sharp. Something had obviously gone wrong at the shop before she'd arrived. Era shrugged off the strange feeling with a grumble. "None of my business what they do with their own business." Era saw a small child near the entrance of the shop. She sighed. Children. Who knew what kind of mischief the child would get into? Parents these days. They didn't watch their kids, nor did they care if they caused problems.
  4. I should probably inform everyone now that my activity in the first 48 hours will be limited. I'm being sent to an 8+ hour training both Thursday and Friday, with a 3-hour round trip drive each day. I probably won't have much time for much else than sleeping.
  5. Era hobbled slowly through a besieged Luthadel, grumbling quietly. Koloss outside the gates, and people inside we're going mad. And not the good kind of mad. Era considered herself the good kind. Just a little nutty to keep things from getting boring. But these people... "Kill each other," she muttered. "Yes, great idea. Kill that guy too. He won't be needed when the Koloss attack." Era endured the madness because her scissors had broken. Hopefully Executive's Scissors had what she needed.
  6. Those are amazing. I love the Voodoo Practitioner. It sounds wonderfully chaotic.
  7. I'll sign up as Brenna, a recently graduated pilot, call sign: Bad Wolf.
  8. I love role madness games. I think it gives everyone a little more incentive to stay involved. This sounds like role insanity. Do it.
  9. Thanks Bard! I really enjoyed the mechanics and seeing how people chose to use them. This has been a fun game to watch. To the rest of the village, sorry I suicided, but with how this week has been for me, I don't think I could have played more than maybe one more round.
  10. Sign me up as Era, a crotchety old Terris woman who was too stubborn to evacuate the city when it all went to pieces.
  11. Alright, to hopefully keep this game moving along (hopefully) without any locked lynches, Lumgol Steel.
  12. In that case, with vote manipulation not only possible, but already present, we need to create greater gaps in our lynches. Right now, without manipulation, I believe it stands at a three-way tie between Lum and myself. If Lum uses the strawman on Steel, then it's between the three of us. I expect, however, she'll use it on me for self preservation. @Cadmium Compounder, you've expressed suspicion of Lum, so I encourage you to act and vote. If no one else votes, I'll likely take my vote off Lum, just to not waste a turn with no information. Even if it means I die, something can be gained from it. I'd hope it would prompt people to look a little more closely at Lum. A pretty swift wagon appeared on me after voting for her.
  13. I still go back to when he was active. While it's probable he was on the Shard in PMs after his last post of the game, his choice to vote on Ark wouldn't be in defense of either CadCom or Sart. At the time, I was the only one with votes (Steel's poke vote and Ark's vote).
  14. @Young Bard, can items be used more than once, and if so, can the breath be recovered from it after use? I have so many problems with this idea. It partially depends on the answer from above, but you're saying you used a 6-breath item in exchange for 3 breaths. Now you're suspicious because he willingly agreed to the exchange? Why would an elim give up breaths to the village? Breaths that can easily be used against elims. Also, from what I remember, Mailliw wasn't around when the CadCom and Sart lynched became active. I can't see it as an attempt to save an elim teammate.
  15. But you would have a reason. CadCom has been known to set up stings in past games. He'll claim to someone he finds suspicious, tell one or two people, then expect to be killed. You sharing the information would help absolve you of suspicion when do decide to kill him. While these are true, it could easily be the elims waiting a bit. I've rarely seen an elim team act on information like this right away. They usually expect traps, so either spread it more, or wait a turn or two for plausible deniability. Agreed, somewhat. I'm definitely going to keep an eye on him, but I don't find it worth an immediate vote.
  16. I'm going to start by voting on Lumgol. I find her desire to share not only her own breath amount, but the amount others have claimed to her very odd. It could be playstyle differences (I tend to play close to the vest, with very few claims of any kind), but her nonchalant attitude toward revealing things which could tip the favor of the game toward elims seems worth a vote.
  17. Responding, piece by piece. Yes, they always are hard to read, but you left out the important bit. Reading alignments in bandwagons. A lot of the time we can narrow down elim suspects based on how easily they joined a bandwagon. That's more difficult this time due to the nature of gaining breaths. Yes, bandwagoning. They will try, if nothing else, to keep breath out of village hands. There are plenty of items or heightenings that can thwart elims if gained, so they will certainly bandwagon to slow down the process of gaining lives. Village does have more incentive, which goes to my original point. Jumping on a bandwagon will be more difficult to read if elim or village because both have mechanic-based reasons to do so, no just the potential to set someone up for later or as an attempt to hide. While they can kill to get breaths, leading lynches will help them gain them faster and keep more breaths out of village hands (see point 2). The first vote seemed to be a poke vote. And I don't agree with the reasoning stated later. I read CadCom's post as just showing up and taking action. His vote on alvron was quickly removed in what seemed to be to be a ninja'd post kind of situation. It didn't seem suspicious, while your determination is suspicious to me. (see point 2 and 4) I'm not mad about your vote on CadCom, I just find it suspicious. Ark's vote seems to be just Ark being Ark. Also, voting quickly in this situation doesn't seem off to me, since cycles are short and time to get on might be limited. You're the one who said vote now, vote often. EDIT: Ninja'd by @Lumgol I'd like to echo Randuir's statement from earlier. Sharing how many breaths we have (especially how many other people are holding) is highly problematic. Did we learn nothing from the LG?
  18. Reading alignment from bandwagons might be a bit difficult this game. While elims are almost certainly going to at least try, village has just as much incentive for joining it as elims. I'd actually venture to say that it might be worth bandwagoning to limit the amount of breath any elims might get from it. I'd also say elims will be more apt to try to lead the lynches, as it would garner them the most breaths. That being said, I don't like the bandwagon on CadCom. It seems purely for the sake of getting breaths, rather than for finding elims. Sart
  19. Hey, I wanted to! Devotary and Lum are to blame. A huge congratulations to the elims. As begrudging as I am about it, your team played an excellent game. Lum, you make some great decisions. I'm impressed, but glad to see you succeed after being kill D1 on your first time as elim. Thanks to Steel and Maill (The Storm?). This was a very entertaining game to watch. I loved the mechanics and do hope to see them in play in the future.
  20. Being an alligator has some upsides. Especially as an invested one, I can do more than just kill things and swim around. I guess you could say I'm an investigator. At least it means you won't have a good portion of people voting last minute. Hopefully.
  21. I have a couple more thoughts after reading through the dead doc. Regarding the end of Cycle 3 and the question of if Sart was influential in my decision to switch the kill: I may have ended up there anyway, but my hesitation in killing Stink was in how low the activity was of the village overall. I figured it might be harder to stay hidden as the final eliminator in a low-activity situation. But I also had to consider with lower activity I would be able to manipulate voting more effectively. Overall, I was so used to being a villager, willing to sacrifice myself if it meant a village win, that I was hesitant to do what needed to be done to win as an elim. All it was for me was a reminder that I wasn't village anymore. With the suggested changes to make this an LG, I think that should fix the action problems. But if it's ever run as an MR again, I was considering the suggestion to make the elim kill not count as an action with the stipulation of only one elim left. I'm not sure how I feel about it. On one hand, it would have definitely made it easier for me to blend in and give realistic answers. On the other, that might end up giving the final elim too much power. If that had been allowed, I would have been able to grab lots of acid, and roleblock anyone who I tried to kill, making sure they didn't have chalk protection. I think the more plausible answer would be to make grabbing an item the one that doesn't count as an action. That could work for everyone as well, helping with the problem of too many items in the supply list. @A Joe in the Bush, I really panicked when you kept posting that I seemed suspicious but you couldn't find why. I thought for sure you'd vote on me for gut feeling alone. Aside from you being thief, I knew you'd be one of the people I needed to kill early. I was also kind of surprised no one picked up the cycle I killed you that I was really wanting to push for the thief lynch. @Devotary of Spontaneity, I did care if CadCom lived. I really, really hoped he would. However, after discussing some things with CadCom earlier and realizing village!me would definitely find him suspicious enough to vote on, I couldn't see another way to avoid suspicion and people asking why I didn't switch, since my vote on Kidpen was placed so early. Also, as village, I rarely keep my vote on a poke-vote for inactivity if there's someone with more reason to lynch. In hindsight, I don't think I'd do the same thing, but I am content with the trust it gained me. I still feel terrible about bussing (especially after your comments in thread that bussing is a mean thing to do so early). My only hope is that he could at least get some satisfaction out of what his death allowed me to do and how close it got us to getting a win. This was also my first real, long-term elim experience. Every other time I've died within two cycles (mostly just one). I learned a ton about strategy and planning, as well as still trying to appear village in my analysis. I just wish I'd had a teammate or two to help longer
  22. Fura, I give you the shattered remnant of Devotion, that you may be able to protect your allies from suspicion and unnecessary deaths. Good luck! You'll do amazingly!
  23. It appears Sart was telling the truth. I'll give him a pass for now, but vote manipulation might be a high priority target for Sja. I will be driving for the majority of tomorrow, and will be with my family for the holiday weekend. My activity will be limited for about 4 days.
