  1. From the album: Stormlight Archive desktop wallpapers

1920x1080 wallpaper for the Order of the Elsecallers. The quote is one used to describe the order in Words of Radiance.
  2. Regarding PoV's: I always find when an author has a large character set with important roles in the outcome of the story, it is better to write from multiple perspectives. It gives the reader a bit more information than each character individually, and provides good opportunity for solid foreshadow. (I know by reading the other replies, that may be likely with a co-author project). Good luck! It sounds like a fascinating premise for a story.

1920x1080 wallpaper using the general Skybreaker's second ideal. (If you'd like a version with one of Szeth's ideals, just comment.)

  6. @SilverTiger, that list is fantastic! Even just skimming through it has given me a few new ideas (especially with obsidian, since my antagonist's main goal is discovering effective necromancy).
  7. That would be awesome! I did a little research into more obscure stones, but I'll accept any help. Thanks!
  8. Unfortunately, no. I hadn't heard of them until today. They're definitely high on my list now.
  9. I've read through some past threads regarding creating magic systems, but they were almost too specific for what I needed. So here are my questions: - What elements/themes do your favorite magic systems contain? - What types of limits do those systems have (to keep people from becoming all-powerful)? - What makes a magic system believable to you? I started creating a system based on different gemstones (different types unlock different kinds of magic, i.e. elemental, healing, arcane, etc.), but I kept running up against walls in making it work right. I'm not looking for direct advice about my system-in-development (though I wouldn't say no), just some ideas of what readers and other writers find works for them.

1920x1080 desktop wallpaper for the Order of the Windrunners with Kaladin's third ideal

1920x1080 image for desktop wallpapers. The words were a description of Lightweavers in Words of Radiance
  12. Thanks @Jofwu! I'll have to look into that. I also did a bit more research into pen tools. If I get some .csh files, I will try to post them to the artist board.
  13. Custom shapes are .csh file types that you can simply stamp into Photoshop, then manipulate. The benefit would be resizing to any size without it getting pixelated. I created a Lightweaver glyph by tracing the .svg file, but like I said, my skills aren't great. It doesn't have very smooth lines. And I'm gonna have to go with @Archer here, and pass on the cookie. For now.
  14. @ElephantEarwax, it can't hurt, right?
  15. I'm not so sure about this... I quite like my Breath.
  16. That's a difficult question! In the Stormlight Archives, it's probably Lopen. I absolutely love his humor! Actually, he or Wayne from Mistborn would be my overall favorites. If you can't tell, I like the punny characters.
  17. Hello! I've been a huge fan of Brandon Sanderson's works for several years now. My favorites would be the Stormlight Archives and the Mistborn original trilogy. Recently, I've been venturing into the world of Photoshop, and I want to create background and other art based on the glyphs and symbols. Has anyone already created custom shapes for the glyphs (specifically Bridge 4 or any Knights Radient orders)? I'm working on a few, but fear my skills are still subpar and the shapes aren't coming out very smooth.
