LG 102: Aftermath - Sacrifice and Heartbreak

Thank you Araris! This was a fun game. I really enjoyed the premise and concept of a mystery scenario. Definitely worth a short return out of retirement. Good game, everyone! -

This is it then. Whoever has the gun tonight decides the game, I think. I do not have it, so it is either one of you. Want to make a deal? -

Long Game 102: Re-Awakening at the House on the Hill
Elandera replied to Araris Valerian's topic in Sanderson Elimination
"The House is clearly warping time and space here. Poor Kirc." Leander took a moment to look for a weapon. Though Kirc's body looked... decayed... there were still signs that his death matched the others. Yet there was nothing to be found. Her search the night before had revealed so little. No supplies to help them survive longer. Only chalk marks with hints of whatever magic powered it. Nothing helpful for what they were facing. Someone had killed Kirc, though. Few that remained could be considered innocent. But who would they choose to be the House's next victim? "Junior Junior has need rather quiet as of late. What do you know of the House and it's machinations?" -
Long Game 102: Re-Awakening at the House on the Hill
Elandera replied to Araris Valerian's topic in Sanderson Elimination
"What are we going to do?" Leander looked through her notes, certain they'd landed on the right conclusion. She was right. The house itself was the culprit here. As much as she wanted to work with the survivors so far, it was clear that was no longer an option. The house wanted blood. But she did not want to fight alone. So few remained. "Do any of you have a plan?" ----- It's the night turn currently. I'm very certain we're in S2. All of the clues yesterday were the gunshot/explosion, which signals to S2/S1, but we can rule out S1 because of Coffee's clue being S2/S3 (he had the Aviar, which is almost guaranteed to be correct). -

Long Game 102: Re-Awakening at the House on the Hill
Elandera replied to Araris Valerian's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Coffee's clue was S2/3 possibility. Between your gunshot, my explosion, and the clues from D1, I'm pretty confident we're in S2. Especially since Kas's death lines up with what he told me about his plan in PMs. EDIT: S1 Clues: 3 - spike(S3) explosion(S2), gunshot(S2) S2 Clues: 4 - rithmatic defense (unique), explosion(S1), gunshot(S1), voidlight gemstone(S3) S3 Clues: 2 - spike(S1), voidlight gemstone(S2) So it's definitely impossible that we're in S1. We could still be in S3 and Kas was a Kandra, but I doubt it. -
Long Game 102: Re-Awakening at the House on the Hill
Elandera replied to Araris Valerian's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I am absolutely still interested. This is a good opportunity for RP, some PM networking (alliances anyone? especially since two people can win...), and wonderful scheming that is an SE classic. Lego ----- Leander brushed soot off the hems of her pants as she returned to the common area downstairs. An explosion! And no one heard? Impossible. And infuriating. She'd finally found the room again. The room that held so much promise for answers about the mysterious house, and it had been blown up. Completely incinerated. So much for investigating. She was about to give up, but rallied herself again. This wasn't over. There were other places to explore, new things to discover, and plenty of people around her that were clearly up to something. Especially with another body down. The house might only let one - perhaps two - of them out alive. It was time to find out what everyone else had planned. "What tricks has the house played on all of you?" -
Long Game 102: Re-Awakening at the House on the Hill
Elandera replied to Araris Valerian's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Leander practically stomped up the stairs, determined to not let the house - or the other people in it - deter her from her investigation. There was a room with a four-poster bed and a desk, and by all that controlled the worlds, she would find it again tonight. And not fall asleep. Or get knocked unconscious. ----- S2 makes sense to me with that unique clue, but any exploration is still good so we can have better confirmation. -

Lego. I'm not a fan of that vote on Aeo. Weird reasoning, especially when dealing with an unconventional ruleset. -

Long Game 102: Re-Awakening at the House on the Hill
Elandera replied to Araris Valerian's topic in Sanderson Elimination
You can just say you want to explore. You don't have to specify where anymore, but you can for flavor/RP. Otherwise we're just looking kind of everywhere for the clues. -
Long Game 102: Re-Awakening at the House on the Hill
Elandera replied to Araris Valerian's topic in Sanderson Elimination
This puts us at: S1 Clues - 1 S2 Clues - 2 (1 unique clue) S3 Clues - 2 Not enough to conclusively say which scenario, but it's leaning away from an elim team. -
Long Game 102: Re-Awakening at the House on the Hill
Elandera replied to Araris Valerian's topic in Sanderson Elimination
It would be, but they'd also know the scenario so it might fall to the wayside barring actions more important as an elim (like submitting the kill or carrying out any item/role actions they may have received). Exploration is almost solely so we can figure out the scenario, which in the case of S1 or S3, it benefits the elim(s) to have that information take longer to release. -
Long Game 102: Re-Awakening at the House on the Hill
Elandera replied to Araris Valerian's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Well this is concerning. These two items are not found in the same scenario, so one of these two are lying. Bold move for D2. EDIT: Sorry, I reread the rules. There's a 33% chance that we can get a clue from the wrong scenario. That makes more sense. So we need more exploration and claims to make a statistical guess, and we haven't narrowed it down at all with these two. -
Long Game 102: Re-Awakening at the House on the Hill
Elandera replied to Araris Valerian's topic in Sanderson Elimination
My claims so far have all been said through RP. I think I mentioned having explored upstairs N0 in my first D1 post, but I might have missed it. I'm trying to keep most of my posts RP because the flavor of the game is largely why I wanted to join. -
Long Game 102: Re-Awakening at the House on the Hill
Elandera replied to Araris Valerian's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Exploring at night is what will give us clues as to which scenario we are in. Location no longer matters, so you can just put in a vague explore action, or you can be specific for flavor/RP alone. Certain items that can be found during exploration are tied to the scenarios, which is why exploring and the. claiming what you find is really important. ----- Leander woke up on the floor of the upstairs hallway, rubbing her head. There was surely a mark left from whatever had knocked her out. The house really didn't want her searching that room she'd found on the first night. Her search had seemed endless. She knew there was a room upstairs somewhere. A room with a desk and a four-poster bed. Instead, the hallways seemed to stretch on forever, until she'd found a door. To a closet. Disappointing. As she stood, something shiny caught her eye. Excitement thrummed through her as she reached for it. A clue?! No. A coin. It has a tiny trace of blood on it's edge, probably from where it had struck her. Was there an errant coinshot somewhere, hiding in closets that should be rooms? Odd, but it didn't actually provide any answers. -
Long Game 102: Re-Awakening at the House on the Hill
Elandera replied to Araris Valerian's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Leander's knee bounced as a few of the party members peppered her with questions. She may have called herself an investigator, but this was getting too real for her taste. She preferred her investigations to stay solidly in the incorporeal and paranormal realm. Breaking character to make things more clear. My last post meant this: I do not like the jump towards picking exe targets based on where they explored while simultaneously asking everyone to claim. Not only are we dealing with a bit of random chance that means our choices N0 do not necessarily determine the outcome, but pushing for claims while others are threatening certain claims is only going to cause people to either do the opposite because they don't like being told what to do (my tendency when I play) or just straight up lie, which leads to fewer answers than we need to come up with the most likely (not guaranteed) scenario. This is especially important moving forward with exploration. We need people to be honest about clues they find so we can match more quickly what scenario we're actually in. My lack of vote was simply because I forgot what day/time it was. I thought I had more time to analyze, though my initial instinct was to place a vote on Aeoryi or Sart. I am side-eying Lego for their vote on TUO. -
Long Game 102: Re-Awakening at the House on the Hill
Elandera replied to Araris Valerian's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I really shouldn't have slept the entire night. Leander took out her notebook and started jotting down things that stuck out to her. Whatever was happening could be entirely random. Statistical anomalies were rare, but was it so unheard of when dealing with a mansion that popped back into existence overnight? Leander knew better than most that the Gods of Luck and Chance could be fickle. There were clues somewhere, hidden among the lavish trappings of the home and in the flower words of the others. An odd proclamation when there was little to base it on. And even more unnerving when considering the implications. Honesty would not be easily gained through threats. Another odd proclamation. There was plenty of reason to not be honest, not the least of which were the threats already abound. Leander thought that alone was reason enough to not tie any assumption of innocence - or guilt - to a declaration of exploration. They all needed more information if they were to figure out who could be to blame for the butler's death. The house was playing tricks. Leander suppressed another smile. The house was playing tricks. Incredible! This was more than she ever could have asked for with her first investigation. -
Long Game 102: Re-Awakening at the House on the Hill
Elandera replied to Araris Valerian's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Leander rubbed her eyes, clearing the sleep away. How had she fallen asleep? She looked around at her unfamiliar surroundings and realized she was on a four-poster bed. One she remembered seeing while exploring the upper floor. It had looked so inviting. Pristine compared to how she'd expected the old destroyed-yet-miraculously-returned mansion to be. She brushed herself of and rushed to meet the others, frustrated that she'd missed an entire night of exploring because of a nap. She'd been so excited, though. Vibrating with anticipation. She hadn't been even close to tired, yet she'd just... passed out? The house was certainly playing tricks. When she found the others standing over the body of the butler, she gasped. Sure, most of it was surprise at finding the body, but there was a hint of something else. Intrigue. A real investigation along with her paranormal one. How exciting... Right. Body. Actual dead person. She looked around. Those others she'd arrived with were a strange bunch. One looked... older? Odd. Even more odd was the dried blood. "Who would like to die today?" "Uh, no one? I think?" She gestured to the flaking blood, taking a cautious step back. "That's some interesting... makeup? What... what happened?" -

Leander stood at the entrance of the mansion, practically vibrating with excitement. A real mystery. A real paranormal mystery! They took a deep breath, biting their lip to attempt concealing their smile, and stepped inside. It was time to explore. -
