Tahree flipped through the pages of scrawled notes of what happened in the last two days. Nothing at Armedius had prepared her for what they were facing. Luck had been in their favor, but that was starting to wain. There was at least one lurking out there, somewhere. People were starting to become reclusive, Tahree included. She feared trust would be something of the past. Especially after what happened to Ol' Huld. From the evidence she'd gathered, it appeared not only had Huld been killed, but he'd been the victim of a thief, preventing him from defending himself. But what she could do about it, she didn't know. Other than to study her notes and try to find some conclusion. And soon. --- This is kind of the deadline cycle. If we don't catch either the elim or the thief, we will likely lose. I should have some time tonight to dig through past cycles, but for now, I'm most suspicious of Steel being the thief. Aside from Joe's analysis from yesterday, Stink apparently having the gun stolen from him after Joe asked for Steel to be killed makes it a bit coincidental. After the order of actions being released yesterday showing theft comes before kill, it's possible Steel stole the gun to stay alive hopefully until he could accomplish his win-con. However, there's also the issue of Steel having claimed to be the victim of the thief. I also think it's possible Stink worked with someone at the beginning to basically be a decoy for who really picked up the gun, and the write-up would just be GM flavor. If that's the case, please claim so we don't accidentally kill someone for mis-placed suspicions. All of this aside, though, I think it's more important to find the elim. A co-win with the thief would be better than giving the elim more cycles to make a come-back. My brain is currently blanking on elim suspicions (rushing to get this done before heading to work), but like I said, I'll be doing some analysis hopefully tonight. I'll wait until then to actually place a vote.
-
This seems a reasonable conclusion. Let me look into her posts. Her first post C1 was expressing doubt about sharing items. While I don't think that's fully alignment indicative, it probably means she's not the thief. The second post was RP and a poke vote on Xino. It's C2 that I find interesting. The first post seems like it could easily have been distancing. Someone was bound to point out Lum's post, so it would make sense for the final teammate to point it out as a way to get ahead of suspicion. I also find it a bit suspect that she didn't vote on CadCom until 24 hours later, once there was a vote on CadCom as well as a few other people. With the use of a bribe, putting CadCom one vote ahead with almost a full day left wouldn't be a big risk, especially since CadCom hadn't gotten on and voted yet. I've been skimming through the last few cycles, and haven't come up with much else in the way of suspicion on other people, so I'll place my vote here for now. Arraenae

It's true, but they're under a time crunch with the thief's win-con. Missing a village kill for a 50% chance only of surviving was risky at best.
-
With how the voting all panned out, I actually don't suspect that post to be distancing. At the time, Kidpen had a vote on him still and hadn't posted. If you were elim as well, I'd figure he'd go for the Kidpen vote, rather than dragging a second elim into the top spots. It's a bit strange they'd go for the tie (50% chance, if Snip is village, which I consider likely) rather than the kill (100% chance of village/thief kill). I wonder if they had the action submitted and never returned after the tie was broken.
-
Hmmm. First things first, Kidpen. I do look forward to hearing your thoughts so far. Hopefully they come before the end (of this cycle). The vote is currently tied between Snipexe and CadCom. Between the two, I find CadCom more suspicious, based on his interactions with Lumgol. The reasons behind the arguments against Snipexe seem flimsy at best. I can fully understand not wanting to take the gun in the end, just because of the attached risk. CadCom

Once again, my not following the thread closely enough bites me in the rear. Gaea. It would be a poor move to accidentally get her killed when she said she'd be inactive for a bit. I'm not sure about the CadCom lynch either. While Lum hasn't been an elim before, she's done some pretty unusual things (the fake aluminum claim in Kidpen's game comes to mind). With that in mind, her pronouncement to PM CadCom seems more of an inexperienced attempt to broadcast her villagery-ness by picking someone who planned to take the crab, an item most useful to village, and suggesting to want to help coordinate its use. For now I'll place a vote on Kidpen. He's been online since the cycle was posted, but hasn't chimed in yet here.
-
We're a little more than 24 hours into the cycle and there's been so little discussion. I'm afraid I'm also to blame for that. With four bribes on the table, at least a couple people should go for those. I can imagine in such a small game, having vote manipulation would be powerful for elims, especially seeing how they lost one to a tie. I'll place a poke vote for now on Gaea @xxGaea. I don't think she's posted yet.
-
This was an awesome game. Thanks Joe and Gaea for running it. Congratulations to the non-Joe village. A few thoughts on things. I think JOE was on track to convert everyone, but we miscalculated the number of elims. I was still expecting two left, so when I noticed the game was done, it was a bit of a surprise. Overall, I don't think much should change regarding it. It was a fun mechanic that really didn't interfere with the game, other than making people think and try to extend it. @Lumgol, thanks for choosing me to convert first! Also, the PM announcing the JOE conversion was the best. I agree with Devotary, though. A lot of the struggle was having to ignore the conversion in favor of other actions. If we could choose to convert either week or weekend, it would have been a little better to balance with other roles. While I was sad to see PMs (and my original role) disappear, I fully understand the decision. Picking up Roleplayer was also a lot of fun, though I'm sad I didn't get to use the next role I was given (Arms Dealer). The change also made things a bit fun later in the game with my apparent sporadic roles. @Fifth Scholar, I'll apologize again in return. We had some interesting tunneling on each other. I was absolutely convinced for a while that you were a convert. I personally think choosing to put Walin in as Vashikaran was an alright move. I wouldn't have done it had the Spammers not lost two in the first cycle. I might not have given him Vashikaran, but I don't think the role impacted the game significantly enough to have warranted a change.

Sorry for my basic inactivity. I had a lot more to do this weekend than I initially thought, so I've been able to skim a bit but not really contribute. She could have been going for chalk if the elims wanted to go for a WGG in the future. Also, I don't think the elims would go for the gun in such a small game. They don't likely have many in their numbers and the chances of dying in a fight over it would be too high. EDIT: Forgot I wanted to chime in about Rae's post. Lum's call out to CadCom is worth looking into. It seems like an odd move to do if he were just a villager. However, a lot of what Lum has done in past games doesn't make a lot of sense to me. @Cadmium Compounder, what do you have to say about it?
-
This weekend was a lot busier than I had expected. I don't have time to go in depth by looking at past turns, so take the below analysis with a grain (or bucket) of salt. I'm doing mostly based on memory and impression rather than evidence. Purple - Possible convert Green - Probable village Red - Possible OG elim Xino - Claimed to have a redirect action that we've seen a couple of times. I believe he claimed this fairly early, and I recognize this might actually be a pretty good action for spammers to want to pick up, especially after Temptation died so quickly. Fura - Still unsure exactly what her role is, but she seems to have kept up honest effort for village. Bard - His stories of roleblocks and redirects seems genuine. I don't really have any reason to suspect him at this point. Rand - If the conversion was later, I can see the spammers wanting to pick up the vote manipulation ability, since it's pretty powerful. He's also just sneaky enough to not really show he was converted. Steel - I'm neutral on Steel, though leaning toward village still. My tin-foil-hat-wearing self thinks his claim to have Vodiyehi's powers is just a big IKYK situation. I would like if someone could target him tonight to see if the action failed or not. Please don't announce it, though, just in case Vashikaran is a thing. Fifth - I'm also neutral here. Though I'm not as paranoid about him as before, it's not completely resolved. I just don't have any reason to pursue action against him yet. I can't remember when he claimed, but if it was before Alv died, the role alone would be a possible conversion target. CadCom - No idea. He's had lower activity than in past games (which is understandable, life happens). I think he has a Roleplayer role, which also would be a good conversion ability. He claimed after Fifth, from what I can remember, so falls under the same possible conversion. (Has he proven his role yet? If not, possibly lying about role?) Araris - I don't really have a read on Araris either. Knowing his ability, though, I could understand him being a possible convert. That diminishes somewhat because I know he didn't claim until late and so spammers would have taken a gamble on what role they'd get. Aman - He has an action scan, but I don't think we've gotten any results from that for a while. It makes me a bit suspect that he's not actually using the scan ability. Walin - Fairly close to Araris and CadCom, where activity has limited my read somewhat. I do believe they'd be a good conversion target for early game, since no one would really suspect them. At this point, someone is either lying about their role, or there is no OG elim left. That doesn't seem to line up with Bard, since he says he's been blocked, and no one has claimed to have any roleblocking. If CadCom hasn't proven his role (I honestly can't remember), then I'd suspect him most of being Vashikaran.

I think I'm slightly more suspicious of Walin at the moment. He'd be a pretty good convert option, since few would suspect him for joining late. Walin

Xino Sorry, I completely missed his post. I was skimming the thread just as I woke up. I accidentally mixed it with Snipexe's post in my brain.

We're only a few hours from the end of the cycle. I don't know how much I'll be able to contribute in that time, so here are a few basic thoughts. I'm still hesitant to claim what items we plan to take. Like Devotary and CadCom said, it would reveal a lot to not only the elims, but the thief. I can see where people are coming from with how the last version of this game played out, but I think there are some mechanical differences that make this situation much different. Namely, that it isn't announced who got what. If it were, there wouldn't be a problem with claiming. Since that's been all we've really discussed, I don't have any suspicions. It seems pretty NAI, since it's more of a playstyle difference to me. For now, I'll go for the crusade vote. Xino.
-
It's also possible it was not a role block, but a redirect on to an invalid target. Sorry for being essentially inactive for the last 24 hours. It's been a busier weekend than expected. I'll try to get more thoughts together before the end of the day.

No worries. A lot of my conjecture that a conversion happened N1 was also tied in with accusing you, so I can understand why you misunderstood. I'm highly concerned that kind of troll move is exactly what Joe would do. But I'm not sure I want to place my vote there just yet. I'm still waiting for an explanation from Fura first. I had the Lightweaver ability, and did an action switch with you as my main target. No one targeted you with anything, so that worked out alright. I was trying to make sure you weren't roleblocked again. That's unfortunate. We still need to convert Araris then. For any other Joes, please announce if you were either converted, or know your conversion was successful.

While this could theoretically help us catch eliminators forced to lie, if everyone is forced to claim then no one will be able to use items without looking like an eliminator. Such as if someone starts with a crab, they would either be forced to lie, or to be open about their plan to use an item. That, in turn, would give the elims a look at who to potentially roleblock if they have acid, and a thief a look at who to steal from. Also, when it comes to claiming things like getting the chalk, it removes targets for the elims, narrowing down who to target with their kill so it has a higher probability of succeeding, or things like lanterns/crabs, to keep them from being used and then revealed. EDIT: That's part of why I think, with open PMs, our best bet would be to get some contacts where you can claim to in private, helping coordinate things like getting the gun without killing too many people, and keeping the elims in the dark as much as possible.
-
@Aranduensis, I will not likely be converting any Joes tonight, so please convert Araris. I'm hoping that tomorrow I'll have a bit more time to return to my suspicion list and figure out who the final elim(s) are.

Tahrie Fields clutched a worn book in her hands as she stared at the body. Nebrask had proven to be a harsh and terrifying place, fraught with dangers Tahrie didn't feel ready to face. Her book was her only solace. The book was full of notes and diagrams she'd compiled from years worth of studying at Armedius. Unfortunately, studying wasn't enough when it came to practical application of principles. Not when life was the cost of a failed drawing, not just a bad grade. Oh, how she longed to be back among the comforting walls of the library, stacked high with books and all the knowledge she could wish to gain. --- Yay! Another Rithmatist game. First, a few thoughts about the camp supply. People should be cautious about trying to grab the gun. We can't really afford a lot of extra deaths with such a small player count. The lantern will be super useful, since there are definitely items on there that the elims would be more interested in than others. I think bribes, and the acid would be among the top, and possibly the gun. They may also try to grab for some items just to keep them out of village hands, like the crab. PMs will be useful in coordinating which items to grab.

@Furamirionind, thanks for saving me on that one. I completely forgot that's what Fifth asked of Itiah. It also seems that didn't happen, though I suspect more from inactivity rather than inability. As for my vote, I say 24 hr turns.
