  1. @Kynedath, I keep meaning to check this. I don't have time right now, but could you ping me if I haven't responded by tonight? EDIT: I did have time for a brief skim, so I'll add a few notes really quickly. Does this give someone the ability to kill a player? Or would they have to have a kill ability in order to fulfill the contract? The restrictive lynch is also somewhat concerning, as it really inhibits the village ability to do anything late in the game. Since there don't seem to be any village kill roles (outside of the potential of a Murder contract), they would just be systematically slaughtered by the elims with no reliable ability to stop them.
  2. Because I'm me and totally trustworthy? I get the hesitation, though. I've had terrible reads on people all game, but they're honest terrible reads. I'm still most suspicious of you, but can't actually do anything about it. I'm next most suspicious of Karnage or Fura, but I think I have more reason to trust Fura than Karnage, hence why I'm not voting on them. After that, it's Burnt or Experience. The latter I also can't do anything about. I can't take your word for trusting Burnt because, well, I suspect you. Since Devotary is also still not fully on board with the village!Burnt idea, I feel there may be something there. Yes, Straw didn't find any lies in her posts, but that's not an infallible alignment scan. Like I said in my prior post, the phrasing was ambiguous enough that it's quite possible it wouldn't trip the lie detector even as an elim. To that end, I'll vote again on Burnt, Burnt. I honestly can't think of a better target that would be effective, and we can't let the potential elim!Masters control the lynch.
  3. Hmm... It's not looking good for Rath right now. Vote Count: Rath (2) - Karnage, Karnage We don't have enough-non Masters to spread out votes and avoid harsh punishments unless we want to vote on insane players. It seems no one has any strong suspects outside of the Masters, so getting all of us to agree is going to be difficult. There's no way to get no one to vote, since that would make a hammer super easy. @little wilson and @Elbereth, does a Master who has gone insane still count as a Master for voting purposes? Ninja'd by Devotary. The language Burnt used in her read, especially regarding Hael, is ambiguous enough that I'm not sure it'd trip as a lie. "Seemed fine to me" wouldn't be a lie if they're teammates because of course Hael would be fine if they're both on the same side. It's also a trust/suspicion scale, not a village/elim scale. Burnt could easily put teammates under the trust category because it's not an indication of elim status, just her decision to trust or not. Maybe I'm being over-analytical here, but I'd be fine with a Burnt expulsion.
  4. Okay, maybe it wasn't so paranoid... You know that crazy theory? These two basically sum up the two possibilities with it. Either they intentionally made Straw insane because he'd be "cleared" (but that doesn't make a ton of sense, because then they'd lose the benefit of having a Master) or he went insane as a result of other abilities (but then that would mean elims didn't try to attack anyone). I keep reminding myself Occam's Razor, though. There are too many reasons for it to not be the case that I just have to trust Straw and Burnt. If I read the rules correctly, they don't actually need to place DP on students with votes, but you're right. If there are only three two, they can only get 10 DP on any student with no votes. So I have a crazy proposal. We vote on the masters anyways. Let me clarify a few things first. @little wilson and @Elbereth, when RNG DP is distributed, does it get placed on Masters with votes then dissolved, or can it not be placed on Masters at all? If the former, then we can all vote on Lopen/Karnage. Even if they can't be brought on the Horns, it keeps at least some of the RNG DP from getting placed on people we relatively trust because of elim!Master votes.
  5. It's in the write-up post that Rath was mistakenly expelled before and so has been allowed to return. @Araris Valerian, while I normally advocate for caution in sharing, this is the point where I will agree. I think it would be better for village to know what fields the Masters control. And you're probably right about Burnt. I'm probably being overly paranoid and frustrated that the people I really want to expel can't be expelled. Burnt Burnt
  6. I've been debating that point with myself since you brought it up. I trust Straw within reason, but what gets me is how calling yourself 100% suspicious is not a lie. With that same reasoning and phrasing, you could easily say a teammate is only 30% suspicious and have it be true, so long as they had remained mostly unsuspicious in public. And honestly, I'm not sure if I know of a better target. All the ones I really want to vote on are masters.
  7. I'll take a spec doc! Edit: And I think @Shard of Reading was also interested in joining. This is the sign-ups thread for the next game.
  8. Ah, that makes sense. I was starting to get a crazy paranoid theory of an elim!Straw, but that makes no sense for several other reasons, even if he were involved in DP spread. I'm going to give a quick reads list to help me sort my thoughts in a sensible manner. Furamirionind: True Neutral. I keep bouncing back and forth between trusting Fura and them being my top suspect. I don't like their interactions with Hael, but I also suspect Karnage of being elim. Fura and Karnage don't make a plausible team, though. I'd need one to flip to get a solid read on the other. Elkanah: Neutral. While their activity has been relatively high (excluding a few turns ago), there hasn't been a lot of AI content that I can remember. They don't have many interactions with Hael, other than Hael referencing them as low to inactive. Elkanah is usually more outspoken, but I can understand RL things getting in the way (just see my activity and contribution at the beginning of this game). Burnt Spaghetti: Elimy-Neutral. Same reasoning as Elkanah for being neutral, lack of AI content. With Burnt, that tends to be a little more standard for her style. Her interactions with Hael (and a piece of my mind saying her statements around the Bard lynch) are what make me lean slight Elim. Devotary of Spontaneity: Village. Hael tried to lynch them entirely too many times for that to have been distancing. Rathmaskal: Neutral. Not enough content, especially recently considering their mistaken expulsion. I'll have to re-look at their interactions with Hael, since I had been ignoring them previously. Araris Valerian: Village. Same reason as Devotary. Experience: Elimy-Neutral. Their last-minute vote on Straw and how they've basically gone without much scrutiny at all this game is suspect. I'd be okay if they were roleblocked or killed (since we can't expel them). Lopen: Elim. Their interactions with Hael and voting patterns have shown a lot of bias toward the elim team. I am not at all comfortable with them being a Master. Please kill or roleblock until they can be killed. Karnage: Elimy-neutral. Straw's untimely insanity does not present well for Karnage, as there is no one to verify his claims of last turn. It seems as if this could have been an attempt to save Karnage a little longer, or frame him. A roleblock wouldn't hurt. There are probably a total of 6 elims in the game, three of which I'm certain are Hael, Walin and Bard. That leaves three more. I'd put Lopen as most likely next teammate, followed by Karnage or Fura, then Burnt or Experience. Since I would rather see Karnage's flip before expelling Fura and I can't expel Lopen or Experience, I'll place my votes on Burnt, Burnt.
  9. Alive/Sane: Expelled: Insane: Expelled: This isn't good. My top two suspects are both now masters and can't be expelled. And as far as I remember, Rover only had one vote on him. It's possible Straw placed all of his DP onto Rover, since he's the one vote in that location, but it would have had to be pretty bad RNG for Rover to be the only one disciplined with Lopen and Karnage both had way more votes. They had to have had Straw and Experience on their sides with DP distribution and some Rhetoric and Logic assistance to keep them from getting hit with RNG DP.
  10. Congrats elims! And thanks for killing me early. Turns out I didn't have time to really focus on a game that moved so quickly. I'm pretty sure I was one of those Rae could impersonate due to inactivity in the dead doc.
  11. This is more for a housekeeping/general reminder to vote since we are in the final 24 hours of the turn. Alive/Sane/Current Students who have yet to post this turn: @Kynedath @GreenRover @Experience Alive/Sane/Current Students who haven't voted: @Elkanah @TheMightyLopen @Burnt Spaghetti @Devotary of Spontaneity Vote Count: Fura (4) - Elandera, Elandera, Karnage, Karnage Karnage (4) - Fura, Fura, Straw Burnt (4) - Araris, Araris I'm strongly considering a switch to Karnage, but I want to review their interactions with Hael a little more thoroughly before I make a decision. I don't fully trust Fura, but Karnage's response is curious enough that it has me questioning. I don't think both would be elims. On to more Hael review. Here is a continuation of his posts from most recent starting where I left off. Term 3.1 Some of his interaction with Fura in this turn (and the end of term 2.2) makes me lean a little more village on them. Term 2.2 The votes during 2.2 make me slightly more suspicious of Lopen. It also reminded me of his interactions with Karnage. Karnage's suspicion on Hael could have been distancing, but it seemed honest at the time. I'm slightly less suspicious of him. At this point, I'd be willing to lynch either Lopen or Fura. I want to investigate Karnage a little more, though I wouldn't argue with a roleblock. My next series will likely be other people's mentions of Hael, as I've crossed over with the work Elkanah did.
  12. This is interesting. I understand from Fura's posts that you do not have a PM with them, so they've not been trying to get info from you directly. It's possible that you got the information from someone else through a PM, but the vagueness of your answer makes me question why you wouldn't just say that without giving a name. Granted, it's also possible you have access to a PM spy ability and don't want to reveal that information. At the moment, though, it looks more as if you are trying to avoid lying in order to pass a linguistics scan. In regards to Fura fishing for information, that's very common with a lot of people in PMs. Many people feel more comfortable sharing information in PMs they would not share in the thread. I don't think that's an indicator of being elim or village, as both alignments would have reason to pry for information. Villagers will try to trip up potential elims into revealing too much and elims will try to get information about roles and abilities, as well as convincing the villagers of their goodness.
  13. I didn't even realize you'd been elevated. Here's the player list updated to be correct: We could definitely use a solid look at both the new Masters, especially after the votes of last turn. @Experience, are you able to quantify that gut read you had on Straw? Straw's explanation makes sense, and would likely be something he'd do regardless of alignment. I was going to post some more, but just realized I'm almost off work and out of time. I'll share more thoughts later today. Please be active everyone. Who do you think is most suspicious? Who do you think is most village? (Also, I'm not the only one who should be looking into Hael. There's a lot there to investigate.)
  14. If it makes you feel any better, I'm in the mindset that we either have enough votes to expel you or not votes at all. Yet another roleblock will be completely unnecessary. And I'm not sold on your lynch either. I'd also be fully willing to vote on Straw at this point, or change entirely once I get through some more posts.
  15. I think I ninja'd you with some of my Hael post analysis. There's one in there where he responds to Xino's questioning about Hael's vote on Bard that really makes me think Xino was right in saying Hael's vote was hedging. Also, the fact Xino was attacked again (and now insane) is another hint he was not lying about Bard. Since he's the only one who went insane, I expect that was the elim attack. One elim probably tried to kill him while another used the Skindancer ability, expecting there to be protection in place.
  16. @Araris Valerian, that's true. I was thinking of it mostly as someone who frequently misses rollover for a strange sleeping schedule, and for the dangerous potential of a hammer. But you're right, it can go both ways. Also agreed about Hael's votes, at least for people he left votes on. If the vote was placed early and eventually removed, I think we can keep that person in the potential category. Unless elims have extra vote manipulation. Hael's posts, in order from most recent to oldest (excluding non-relevant RP or posts with no player clues, such as questions to the GM): Term 4.2 From this, I'm good with clearing Devotary, with soft clears on Karnage and Kynedath. I want to look more into Straw before I clear him, though, as some of this looks like strategic distancing. Term 4.1 This makes me slightly more suspicious of Elkanah. The one thing that's giving me pause is how Hael said Elkanah was low-activity. He likely would have made more note of a teammate's posts/overall activity. The rest of his posts that turn were the player/rank list and RP with Burnt and Straw. Since Hael was so much more involved than Walin, this will take a few posts, but I have a few conclusions already. Devotary is solid village for me. Kynedath and Karnage are both soft village. Araris and Elkanah are both leaning towards village, but I'd like to look into their posts a bit more before I say one way or the other. Straw and Fura are both leaning towards elim for me. Since I suspected Fura last turn, I'm willing to place a vote there. Fura, Fura (Also, I'll be honest here. If I weren't me, I'd probably vote on me based on what I found in his posts.)
  17. Well, someone is getting some amazing shots in this game. Congrats. Hael's death should give us a lot more information and leads. I'll get to doing a breakdown, though it will take longer since Hael had a lot more content than Walin. For now, player list/stats. Alive/Sane: Expelled: Insane: Dead: A few side notes, sorry Xino for suspecting you for so long. I now accept fully that Bard is evil (though it would still be nice if her were killed). And it would be nice to have more lynch discussion earlier in the cycle (I'm sure the GMs would appreciate that as well ). If you have someone you even slightly suspect, make a vote and start some discussion. Last-minute lynches are rarely ever useful.
  18. I like the idea, but what would you classify as game related? There are several who post things that just say they have no suspicions and they'll get to things later. It's technically game-related but largely just filler. You could easily do something quantifiable, like a word count minimum, to make sure people don't pop in with a line or two to avoid the filter but still stay under the radar.
  19. Alright, with Experience's vote, we still have several people alive who haven't cast a vote. Also, since so many people are sure Fura (Fura) is village, I'll remove my vote from there ( @Karnage, I suggest the same as to not unnecessarily punish a Ruh). I don't believe we need to pile the votes on Kynedath since he'll eventually fall to the same fate as Zillah unless he returns. I trust Hael's judgement enough to agree with his vote. Devotary (Devotary). Fura (2) - Karnage, Karnage Kynedath (6) - Lopen, Lopen, Araris, Araris, Experience, Experience Devotary (4) - Hael, Hael, Elandera, Elandera Elandera (2) - Devotary, Devotary @Elkanah, @Straw, @xinoehp512, @Lord_Silberfarben, @Furamirionind, @Kynedath, @GreenRover.
  20. It's partly because the others are considered village that I suspect Fura. While it's not always the case, many elims will slide in one teammate during trust reads, especially if they aren't under threat of being killed. Part of it is because Fura also refuted the vote on Walin and Lopen, which I also suspect of being elim. I understand that, which is why I'm not basing a whole lot of my suspicion on how people regarded Walin. Pretty much everyone could be comfortable putting him in the "unknown" or "no read" category. If my count is correct, we currently have: Fura (4) - Elandera, Elandera, Karnage, Karnage Kynedath (4) - Lopen, Lopen, Araris, Araris I have a sneaking suspicion that the majority of lynch discussion is going to happen in the last 8 hours again. I'll try to make it on by the end. --- Athdara was buried deep in the archives once again. Her hair was an unmanageable mess, her eyes bloodshot and ringed with dark circles. It looked like she hadn't slept or even left the building in a span. There was too much to do and so little time. If schoolwork wasn't enough, she had to worry about the fae. At least some of her work had finally paid off. It had taken almost twice as long as anyone outside of the medica, but she'd finally been elevated. Her parents had started to threaten cutting her off if she didn't make some quantifiable progress. That would have made her education much more difficult. But that worry was behind her, for now. Instead, she had to worry about passing her classes. She couldn't afford to wait another four terms before making Re'lar. So, she buried herself in the archives to study. If she couldn't defeat the skindancers, she'd find other ways to beat them through scholarship.
  21. Comprehensive review of all of Walin's posts (which thankfully, were not many in number): Term 1.1 Term 1.2 Term 2.1 Term 2.2 Term 3.1 Term 3.2 Term 4.1 To sum up his posts, he gave village reads on Xino and Fura twice, DeTess the turn she was killed, and me once. He mentioned Kynedath once with a no read (which was done when Kynedath had a strong lead on a lynch). Now for a less* comprehensive review of players who mentioned Walin: *This list does not include mentions in player/rank lists/vote counts. Term 1.1 Term 1.2 Term 2.1 Term 2.2 Term 3.1 Term 3.2 Term 4.1 (mentions of him drastically increased because this is when he became a Master. I am not including all of the mentions, just ones with possible alignment info.) TL;DR I am now most suspicious of @Furamirionind, followed slightly by @TheMightyLopen. Most of my suspicions of Xino have been assuaged (at least until we can finally get an alignment scan on Bard). Reason for suspicion on Fura: Mentioned by Walin as village in every read he gave, and was against votes on Walin and Lopen (who I now suspect of being elim). Reason for suspicion on Lopen: Despite giving a few read lists, never actually gave any reads on Walin. To that end: Fura, Fura
  22. Even if it wasn't Bard, I'm glad we finally have something to go on for reads. I'll be spending my free time to look at Walin's interactions and what on earth happened last turn. Also, yay! I was finally elevated in something!
