My first thought is that the elims are likely active. A few of our lynches have been decided at the last minute, but with three people killed it means none of their research was done on anyone who was lynched. Also, each of the targets had relatively low activity and no suspicion, so the elims are following along well enough to see that. She/her I'm 0 for 3 so far. In general, not doing great at all. A good portion of my vote was because I'd had a bad read on them from the beginning. It was just a gut read to start, which is why I mostly ignored it. Until last cycle when I saw an opportunity for a successful lynch there and decided I would keep tunneling if I didn't get an answer soon in that regards. So far, all of my reads have been wrong, but let's give it another shot. After all, we're all insane right? 1. Araris - Neutral to Elim. Araris has been around enough to fit the profile of following the thread closely enough to watch for activity and likely lynches. Seems to have tunneled on Experience for most of the game so far, but I wouldn't expect that from elim!Araris. But as Archer points out, they switch late in the cycle. 2. Archer - Neutral. I want to trust him, but it's difficult. They also fit the profile of following the thread, and have influenced it quite a bit. That could be an elim trying to sway so they don't lynch a research target. They also haven't pushed strongly for any lynch in particular, but urge everyone to always vote. I might be okay with an Archer lynch. 3. Condensation - Elim. Connie's been around, but hasn't particularly said much and hasn't voted a ton (maybe not at all). I'm not familiar with her style, but I believe Illwei said last turn this is a bit of a change from her past games. They also said there was a bandwagon on them when there was a single vote. I've noticed that new elims tend to be particularly paranoid about any votes on them, so that's pretty suspicious to me. I would also be okay with a Connie lynch, as she seems to fit the profile of trying to fly under the radar but around enough to keep track. 4. Experience - Neutral. A lot of the suspicion on them, from what I can remember, has been because of their vote on Gears C1. If I'm wrong, please correct me. I don't see them as trustworthy, but I also don't see that as elim behavior. They haven't said a whole lot, so could potentially be a lurking elim. I'd want to see more reasoning before a lynch, though. 5. Gears - Neutral. They've been doing a lot of the TL;DRs but not much otherwise. They do have the excuse of approaching finals, so I can't blame them for that. However, doing TL;DRs is extensive and a good excuse for them to follow the thread enough to place the right kinds of research orders. Gears may be sliding towards and elim read. 6. Liranil - Neutral. I believe this is their first game (what are your pronouns, @Liranil?) They haven't been shy at all about contributing and voting, but some of that appears to have been motivated by not getting targeted for suspicion by Archer. I'm not sure, as it's really hard for me to read new players. 7. Danex - Neutral. Three posts so far, so not much to go on. 8. Vapor - Neutral. Appears most of the suspicion on them is directly related to their last-minute vote on SfS in Cycle 2 and a subsequent lack of defense. I don't quite see that as overly suspicious, but it is odd. I don't think they've been around enough to fit the profile, but that doesn't mean they aren't elim. Just that they aren't that elim. I think of all of those, Connie is my biggest suspicion. The change of style, paranoia over a single vote, and general lack of commitment is all setting off my elim radar.

But I did vote. I never removed my vote from SfS. Also, I realized I haven't voted yet. I think because I keep coming back to them on a gut read, Illwei.

I've gotten some more sleep and my brain feels intact again. Mostly. Someone needs to die C1 and I was legitimately suspicious of Quinn, as far as C1 suspicions go. They had stated they believed you were village awfully early with a confidence I have come to never expect from villagers so early, then voted on you anyways. At the time, it seemed like it may have been a slip and attempted cover-up in the case where you and Quinn were elim teammates. I know now that was incorrect, but that only cleared her through her death (basically the only way to confirm village this game). What I don't get is the italics section. The only person to leave my vote on Quinn? Aside from you, of course? I'm pretty sure we were the only ones to ever place a vote on her. As for the bolded section... your first post from C2: I realize that in your post with the vote on Quinn, you'd said you were probably going to leave it there, but that vote was cast barely a few hours into the cycle. It was entirely plausible to believe that was going to change at some point, as Archer had suspected. I still don't understand why unprompted VCs is suspicious. Most of the time, I'm doing it because I want to know what my vote is doing before I cast a vote, or to simply know where the votes stand a few hours before the turn. I understand GMs are busy, so why must I ping them for a VC when I can make one myself? Until very, very recently, it wasn't seen as suspicious ever. Also, I didn't put someone in the lead. I put Quinn into a tie. She put herself into the lead by removing her vote on you. Yes, the vote was a misunderstanding of what you'd said. An honest one that I found to be very disconcerting. When you clarified you were talking about votes, I immediately removed it. Also, from my standpoint, I'm not so certain it would be a mislynch. The fact you keep repeating that puts me more on edge. Overall, I remain suspicious of you, but it's all gut read. It could just be playstyle, which is why I haven't kept my vote on you. As for Huh. I totally missed the fact Archer had said you were cleared. I though SfS was referring to why I'd removed my vote. Now I feel terrible. I did a lot of skimming of the thread before, especially long posts. Until now. @Ookla the Paradoxical Since it's been pointed out to me that I missed this, I just have a few questions. First: What? If you believed Quinn/Illwei were teammates, how is Illwei cleared for not going "along with the plan" when a plan couldn't have been in place with village!Quinn? Also, Illwei never posted after I placed the second vote, so theirs was not the deciding vote. I don't know if they were around at the time, but the lack of "activity" could be a plausible excuse for "accidentally" lynching a villager.
-
Ah. Forgot you were the one who voted on me last round, too. As for that, it was my first opportunity to post, and as I'm sure you've noticed from this round, I'm not shy about throwing a vote down early. The timing was rather unfortunate (thanks, Archer... >.> )

Careful with assumptions like this. Just because someone advocates a lynch on a villager doesn't mean they're automatically elim. Villagers play the game blind and I've seen many, many lynches on a villager with only villagers voting. And overall, it can be dangerous for an elim to solidify a lynch because of the attention it brings, like in the case of SfS voting on Archer. Because I'm village. And the votes on me consist of weird reasoning. Illwei says my playstyle is different, but why would I change my playstyle as an elim? All it does is draw attention. Liranil's vote is because I voted on Illwei early, which I dispute because QFs are short and votes matter. Also, that was removed once I realized the main argument for that vote was based on faulty understanding. Gears' (now removed) was based on a misunderstanding of the sequence of events.
-
Illwei was in the lead at the time I placed the vote on Quinn. She then removed her own vote of Illwei, putting herself in the lead and removing the tie I created.
-
The second half of the statement does rely on you being an elim, but the whole argument does not. I still find SfS's vote off and worth a vote against her, especially at this point in the cycle. Yes, this is generally different from how I usually play, but my brain is fried beyond reason, so a bit of chaos it is. Hopefully over the next cycle or two (when I get some sleep and time off) I'll start to make sense again. Archer might try, but I find talking without voting to be NAI. Lots of villagers will also wait until they have solid suspicions to start actually throwing down a vote. The biggest issue is listing suspicions and not voting on those suspicions.
-
Wait. I don't see how Illwei is cleared. I assume you are talking about Archer's statement that he had thought Illwei/Quinn/Experience were involved in a scheme somehow. However, just because that particular scenario didn't appear to be true doesn't mean that Illwei is cleared. It just means they weren't working with Quinn. That's a pretty large leap in logic to make, like you're anxious to try to make teammate!Illwei appear less suspicious. Somebody from Sel. On top of that, why are you two, @Ookla the Paradoxical and Somebody voting for someone who will be removed/replaced? If they're going to die to the filter, let them die naturally. If they're going to be replaced, give the pinch-hitters a chance to actually say something. (Archer's I understand more, as it was stated as a poke/placeholder, but still.)
-
Oh. Yup. I see it now. Illwei. That makes a ton more sense.
-
I am, apparently bad at math. Maybe that's my Epic weakness (I know it's my actual one). I thought we had another hour in the turn. Not that I would likely have changed my vote. Might as well get started, though. @Ookla the Paradoxical, what was the reasoning for not wanting to double up votes on anyone? I understand the stance on Gears' claims, hence why I chose not to vote on him. It's mostly trollish, but I also don't see it as super helpful which is why I didn't think Experience's vote was outlandish. It's just as good as any C1 vote reasoning, really. Inactivity is going to be a huge problem for us regarding lylo, since I don't believe we have enough pinch-hitters to fill all four who are on the chopping block. @Ooklil' the Wei, please don't go inactive for this (unless you're elim). Granted, just the suggestion that you had considered it puts me on edge. It suggests you're village (elims tend to have more reason to be active because they have a team that may depend on them), but mentioning it seems like setting up to just appear more village. Overall, it makes me suspicious. For that, Illwei.
-
Oh, it hurts. There are stories in the ancient scripts of SE that some older players were revealed as elim for a few cycles, but still managed to talk their way into surviving and winning. If someone can claim elim and be elim, people are more likely to dismiss it out of hand and not even look into them, which then allows them to work in the open and fall back on the "joke" of claiming if anyone is ever suspicious. It's Gear's established way of playing, but there is some worth to maintaining a suspicion of that activity.
-
I find it odd that Quinn read Illwei as village after two posts barely a few minutes into the cycle. I suspect possible pocketing. Araris Quinn. I'm unfamiliar with the new players since I've been gone for a while, but that seems awfully quick to declare a village read. Four and half-ish hours until the end of cycle, and no clear lead in the lynch. I suspect the typical last-minute vote swing to someone will occur, so for now, here are the votes. Quinn0928 (2): Ooklil' the Wei, Elandera A Joe in the Bush (1): Ookla the Araris Valerian Ooklil' the Wei (2): Quinn0928, TJ Shade Gears (1): Ookla the Paradoxical Liranil (1): A Joe in the Bush Elandera (1): Liranil

Hello. Here. Still trying to figure out RP character. Brain's stuck. Since we're murdering lots of folks... Araris. Gotta start somewhere.

I'll tentatively sign-up, though place me low on the list. If you get more than 15 players, I'll jump to pinch-hitter/spectator.

Long Game 72: The Secret of Shinovar
Elandera replied to Ashbringer's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Today now, but yes. No requirement, but it is a good suggestion. If they don't assist first, it's a good idea to have someone with GMing experience help. This is Ash's first and I don't believe they co-GMed, which is why I offered to be the co-GM.- 1329 replies

Depends on the player. There's no limit, though, except for anonymous games. Just usually when the player is comfortable.- 1329 replies

Long Game 72: The Secret of Shinovar
Elandera replied to Ashbringer's topic in Sanderson Elimination
That's a single turn, or a night turn and a half a day turn. Overall, not a big issue so long as you announce it to the thread before you leave. People have been gone longer than that during a game and not died to a filter. Life happens.- 1329 replies

Oh. Lol! I thought you wanted a player named TLR to claim their alignment. Like maybe one of the Ooklas changed their name and I just wasn't seeing the original. I guess I need to look at the rules.

Hey, hi, hello. I have not followed this game, so I'll try to catch up quickly. It won't, however, be until I've hit my NaNo goal (less than 3k words, so within a day or so). I see I was almost lynched before I even started. Curious. Contribution crusade?

Long Game 72: The Secret of Shinovar
Elandera replied to Ashbringer's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Inactivity filters with no pinch hitters will remove someone from the game. That's not too harsh, as the 2-cycle filter means the person hasn't posted at all in 6 realtime days.- 1329 replies

Long Game 72: The Secret of Shinovar
Elandera replied to Ashbringer's topic in Sanderson Elimination
General practice is to put your regular SE name in the title, which can be done in your shard profile. If you sign up with an Ookla name and intend to keep it for the duration of the game, it's not as necessary.- 1329 replies

ACS I believe is "above category split" and null would be neutral or not enough information.
