  1. Correct. They would escape Starsight and the kill would fail.
  2. And that's turn. Is it game? Mayyyyybeeeeee......
  3. Seven and a half hours left in this turn! Don't forget about your votes and actions! Vote Count: Somebody from Sel (2) - TJ Shade, Liranil Liranil (2) - Quinn0928, Dannex Straw (1) - StrikerEZ
  4. This link doesn't appear to be working. (EDIT: Or maybe it's not a link and I should keep reading...) Also, we've had games in the past based on available content (Defending Elysium, I believe), so you should be fine without a pass. It is still Sanderson's writing.
  5. We aren't going to be too far away from the end of the MR, so we should start looking at the next QF. Current list: @CadCom (marked as questionably busy) @Young Bard (marked as the anon game, so unlikely) @Elbereth (running the AG, so unlikely) @The_God_King @TJ Shade @Ookla the Shadowed
  6. Kaviq held themselves back from gesturing in satisfaction. They were close to collapsing the DSI. Close enough they could taste it. Slowly but surely, they were turning on their own members. “He needs to be removed. We are of primary intelligence, above this kind of behavior. His actions have only caused chaos within the hall.” There were agreeing gestures and mutters across nearly all of the hall. The one in question—a draft dione Kaviq didn’t recognize—remained quiet despite his outspoken nature the day before. It was rather unusual for a draft to be included in the assembly, but their parents had both been influential members of Starsight’s government. This particular draft wouldn’t likely be chosen by the family. Too chaotic for most dione expectations. Kaviq, on the other hand, suspected they might have made a good member of the DPS. A little more forward thinking. A little more willing to take necessary risks for the benefit of the Superiority. The High Minister’s assistant called for an official vote. Nearly unanimous. Kaviq couldn’t suppress the gesture this time. One more out of their way, and another soon to follow. *** Xino twitched its fingers, worried about the turn things have taken in the assembly. They were quickly losing support and its influence wasn’t enough to keep the DPS from overwhelming their request. The bright blue dione strode from the hall after the session closed for the day. Still no progress. Still no closer to making a final ruling on Keras’s proposal. Yet so many of their ranks were gone. Xino pursed their lips at the thought. What had been happening to their members? It was concerned about the ones who hadn’t returned. Some had simply disappeared. The dione was lost in thought as it stepped into the streets of Starsight. It was busier than normal. It would be easy to get lost in the crowd. Easy to be taken from the crowd. Rough hands grabbed Xino’s arms. “It’s time for you to take flight.” The voice was that of a varvax, mechanical and tinny. “Your friends in the nowhere await your arrival.” A sharp pain split its head. And then there was nothing. Nothing until it woke to see a spherical portal into true nothing. A blackness so deep that nothing had a chance to escape. Then a stretching as the molecules that made Xino were pulled bit by bit into that sphere. Cycle Four Breaker has been deposed! He was a member of the Department of Species Integration! Xinoehp512 has been killed! He was a Dione Leader with the Department of Species Integration! Vote Count: Breaker (10) - TJ Shade, Quinn0928, Straw, Somebody from Sel, Liranil, Ghanderflaffle, StrikerEZ, xinoehp512 Liranil (2) - Dannex, Breaker Player List This turn will end on December 30 at 7:00 p.m. PST.
  7. Lost track of time. The cycle is closed! Standby to find out what happens next.
  8. Great game Ash! You did a fantastic job running this game and dealing with a forgetful coGM. This was a fun rule set. Also, congrats to the elims.
  9. Get your votes and actions in soon! This turn ends in 11 hours. Also, turnover may be a little delayed since I'll be at work and the nature of my job is unpredictable.
  10. The committee is listed in the first post of the thread. General practice is to PM the public rules to all of them and the five mods in order to get a game approved. Of there are secret rules, mention it in the PM and ask for volunteers.
  11. Yes, it will be announced the same way as any other death.
  12. And that's turn. No more votes, no more shenanigans.

  16. Inactivity warning! @Ookla the Shadowed and @Somebody from Sel, if you do not post in the next 24-ish hours, you will be replaced or find yourself tossed into the nowhere.
  17. If a Heklo is killed or deposed, none of the PMs they attempt to create will be opened. Order of actions: Detritus Spy Research/Figment Spy Dione/Cambric Vote Manipulation Varvax Leader Protect Tenasi Pilot Kill/Elim Kill/Deposing Heklo PM Creation
  18. PM creation comes after the kills, but everything else comes before. And PMs are only open for one cycle, so any started at the beginning of this turn close when this turn closes.
  19. “This should not even be up for discussion,” argued one of the varvax members of the DPS. “The Delver Resistance Project is clearly within our jurisdiction.” Keras stood apart from the arguments as the assembly squabbled. The members of the Department of Protective Services were not backing down. They clearly did not want to relinquish control over the project. But Keras’s own department would not be so easily cowed. They had the greater numbers. The arguments continued as it listened, fiddling with a metal contraption. It had said its piece already, so stayed quiet as the flurry of words flew through the air like arrows of ages past. But none quiet enough to be considered too aggressive for the council. One voice, which Keras recognized as a fellow member of the DSI, started to rise above the rest. It started to cut off the other voices. Keras shook its head. Too aggressive. Too much. It looked up finally, wondering if it could recognize the being speaking. Ventyl. They weren’t saying much, but it was enough. Enough to draw attention. Enough to be singled out. Keras observed Kaviq making a gesture to the High Minister’s assistant—the one leading the meeting. A gesture to officially take over the speaking platform. Metal clanged around the room once again. “Kaviq, you have the podium,” he said as the crowd quieted. “I move that Ventyl be removed from the assembly hall. Their actions today show they are far too aggressive for such a position among us. Too emotional to stay rational in such a discussion.” Keras shook its head. That was what it had feared. Another seconded the motion and a vote was held. Not in Ventyl’s favor. Keras watched as the being was removed from the hall. A small silvery badge was passed from Ventyl to the varvax security team. Their symbol of office, stripped from them for their own aggressive actions and words. That small moment left them with one fewer voice to their cause. *** In a side hall, Fade listened to the private discussions of what he suspected to be members of the Department of Protective Services. He was not truly a figment, but extensive training in the art of stealth and espionage allowed him to near that level of skill. They didn’t know he was there. No one knew he was there. He was invisible, practically intangible with his reflexes, truly skilled in the art of spying. There was a reason many thought him to be a figment. Words piqued his curiosity. This information would be invaluable to the Department of Species Integration. “Why that one?” one voice said. “I would have thought to kill the dione, the one that started this whole mess.” “No,” a different voice said, rebuking the first. “Keras is too protected. We would be caught if we were to try to kill it.” The two had nearly gone after Keras? Truly a horrid thought. But who was their target? Fade leaned in closer, straining to catch every sordid detail. “So we just have to find Fade,” the first voice said. “A difficult task, considering he’s a figment.” “Oh, not so hard,” the second voice replied. “He’s right outside.” Metal scraped and thudding steps drew close within moments. They were just on the other side of the door. Fade fled on fleet feet towards the meeting room, but his pursuers caught him in just a few steps. How had they known? How had they detected him? He was a master of stealth, he had trained for decades to know the way of air, how had they found him? His breath caught in his throat as they held him by the arm. He tried breaking free, but their grips were too strong. “He’s not even a figment, after all,” the second voice said. “Killing him is easy enough.” He opened his mouth to scream, but a single gloved hand covered it. There was something on that glove. Or in that hand. The world started to grow dark, starting at the edge of his vision, which was swirling like a galaxy. “Take him to the Nowhere, where no one can find him again.” Cycle Two Ventyl has been deposed! He was a member of the Department of Species Integration! Araris Valerian has been killed! He was a Heklo and a member of the Department of Species Integration! Vote Count Ventyl (6) - Quinn0928, Matrim’s Dice, Liranil, xinoehp512, Breaker, BrightEyes2 Snipexe (2) - Straw, Archer Matrim’s Dice (1) - Ventyl Archer (1) - Araris Valerian, StrikerEZ Player List This turn ends in approximately 46.5 hours, on December 26, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. PST. Also, Gears wrote the majority of the writeup. Go give them all the upvotes. Seriously. I wouldn't have been able to do this without their help.
  20. That's the turn. Rollover will take a while.
  21. Quinn is correct. The rules specify that the Varvax Leader can protect from the Suppression and Tenasi kills. The vote (deposing) is not included. There's about 4 and a half hours left. Vote Count: Snipexe (2) - Straw, Archer Archer (1) - Araris Valerian Ventyl (3) - StrikerEZ, Matrim, Quinn Straw (1) - Ashbringer Matrim's Dice (2) - Breaker, Ventyl Quinn (1) - Xino
  22. Vote Count: Snipexe (2) - Straw, Archer Archer (1) - Araris Valerian Ventyl (1) - StrikerEZ Straw (1) - Ashbringer Ashbringer (1) - xinoehp512 Matrim's Dice (1) - Breaker The turn ends in just under 10 hours.
  23. Just taking a quick glance for now, but here are my initial thoughts. This seems low, especially considering the number of kills out there (elim, knife, assassin). Maybe once a cycle, so they have to choose between a day or night protect? I take it the vote to create a highstorm would be in addition to the regular storm? Kind of along that note, would events be made public before they happen? I'm thinking in particular of the Political Vengeance one. Would players know what ties could do? I assume this one is basically a balance/concealment for Elhokar's ability. My only concern is the chance of it being used accurately are pretty low. It's somewhat rare that an exe vote can be predicted, while Elhokar's ability would be way more accurate. If I were an elim, I'd basically try to kill anyone who survived an exe at all just because it's statistically more likely to be Elhokar than not, unless the exe was super obvious for some reason before the day turn started.
  24. Just as an FYI: This thread will close at 7 p.m. PST regardless of if I can be on to make the official announcement. Also, rollover may take a bit more time. I'll be returning from my family's Christmas dinner around 7ish and rollover is very difficult on mobile.
