  1. WHY HAVE I NOT SEEN THIS UNTIL NOW? THIS IS AWESOME!
  2. And yes we do have a new WoB somewhere that Roshar is a created planet.
  3. So I first started reading WoT when I was in high school, like almost 20 years ago now. I got through Winter's Heart at that time, but got tired of the dragging plotlines and wasn't sure if I would finish the series. By the time the next book came out I had lost interest, and it wasn't until I heard Brandon was doing the last books that I became interested again. Still, it took a long time for me to decide to get back into it and reread all the old books. I'm glad I did! I finally just started reading TGS and I'm really liking it. And I liked KoD more than I thought I would, too. On thing I really like about Brandon's way of doing the books is that he doesn't stick with one character for as long as Jordan did. With Jordan's books, I got tired of reading from the same perspective for a large chunk of time. Brandon switches perspectives much more often, and it's helps keep me interested. Looking forward to finally finishing this series.
  4. So I loved the movie. The thing I liked most was that it felt like a star wars movie, unlike the prequel trilogy. Definitely a throwback to the old movies. At first I thought Rey would be Ren's daughter, until they revealed his relationship with Han and Leia. I still get the impression that he knew about her beforehand. When he found out BB-8 got away with some girl and he's like: "What girl?" and throws his first diaper baby tantrum. And Han's death! I didn't see that coming! Well, not up until he decided to talk to Ren. Then it was totally obvious. As to theories about Rey. I read that the voice that calls out to her in her vision is Ewan McGregor, so she may be related to Obi-Wan. But yeah, her learning so fast with no training really bothers me.
  5. It's still up in the air whether Ym was an Edgedancer or Truthwatcher.
  6. Is this Star Wars spoilers? The thread title needs to say so.
  7. Yeah, pretty sure we didn't know that before. I'm actually surprised we didn't see this coming now that we have that WoB, though. I mean, the major continent didn't always exist, but it is in the shape of a mathematical construct (sort of, 2D cut of a 3D something or other of a Julia Set....). Reminds me of the cymatic cities. So yeah, totally makes sense that the planet is created. And that kind of implies that most planets are natural. And Breaths are on the Physical Realm? Wow, ok.
  8. Its also possible that some of the Aon effects could be left for crossover books.
  9. Wow, I wouldn't have thought an Aon could do that... So, what exactly does it mean to be Guilty? Does that mean if you think you're guilty you feel pain. Or because the Cognitive also depends on other's perceptions of you, if everyone else thinks you're guilty? So what if you're not actually guilty but everyone thinks you are? This Aon could cause so many problems...
  10. Weird how that White Sand preview feels like a Sanderson book, even thought it's in a completely different format.
  11. Shadesmar would be awesome. And this painting is totally awesome!
  12. I think you just broke the Cosmere with your crazy outlandish theory.
  13. Being threatened with the loss of your soul and eternal damnation is kind of like having a gun to your head, though.
  14. I'll add my vote for the Lightbringer and Kingkiller. And anything by Jim Butcher. Maybe I'll try to get back into Iron Druid at some point. Read the first one and liked it, then didn't get into the second one for some reason. But yeah most fantasy is hard to get into after reading Sanderson and some of these others.
  15. Kaladin took it, and I think gave it to Dalinar.
  16. Mr. T seems to know stuff that he shouldn't be able to know, even with super-intelligent deduction. Also, he is familiar with Shin and the Stone Shamanate, so he may have access to information that exists nowhere else.
  17. Well, you have to remember that Epics break the laws of science (as far as we know). Calamity also breaks the laws of science, because he can be seen from everywhere, all the time. Day, night, northern hemisphere, southern, none of that matters. So you can look at him through a telescope but you probably couldn't pinpoint a location or distance with triangulation. Can't shoot at something that you can't properly locate. Also, the governments would have had their hands full trying to deal with all the Epics on the ground. Sure, they probably still would have devoted some attention to Calamity, but just how much did they have time for?
  18. We have an interlude that indicates that all Shin warriors have oathstones. So maybe becoming Truthless is a common punishment for crimes. The question remains whether Szeth had the Honorblade before or after he was declared Truthless.
  19. Ok, so from the quote in your updated post, he did get a report on the surviving bridgeman. It seems he and everyone else at first assumed it was part of the powerplay between Dalinar and Sadeas, so they didn't think it indicated a Nahel Bond. Actually, the report was on the surviving bridgemen, so apparently Graves or whoever sent it hadn't heard of Kaladin surviving the Highstorm. Which does seem odd for a spy. Oh well. However, once Mr. T put together that there was a surgebinder among the bridgmen, I don't think it's too much of a leap to assume that a Windrunner was protecting and leading the bridge crew so they would survive impossible odds together.
  20. I guess Lightsong was hanging out in the cognitive or maybe spiritual realm until his body was ready for him to come back. Endowment was probably up there waiting for the perfect moment to send him back and give a real shock to Llarimar.
  21. It's possible that Szeth's inefficiency with Stormlight is because he is using an Honorblade but is not a Herald. Heralds may have much better Stormlight efficiency. Also, I don't think we ever see a Herald using Stormlight without an Honorblade.
  22. I would agree that the interlude seems to be chronologically placed. As for why he hadn't reported about Kaladin sooner... Who knows? Maybe he didn't hear or believe the rumors of his miraculous survival? Maybe that section of the Diagram didn't come to mind. Maybe he did report report it but doesn't have access to a spanareed to send the reports quickly? Maybe he was still working on getting that report ready? Could be plenty of other reasons I'm not thinking of off the top of my head. We're probably in for some Moash POVs for the next book, so the answer might be found in there.
