I hadn't seen that one until now, but I'm not convinced it rules Sel out entirely. It could be talking about the entire world, but it could also be talking about just a single culture among many. There was a WOB a while back about something to do with timeline shuffling based specifically around major cross-events between Sel and Scadrial, and while I'm pretty sure that's more of an Era 3 thing, it would make sense for some of that to get started now. And we do know there's a mystery third empire hanging around on Sel somewhere... Honestly though, whoever it is, it's probably just the Set's offworld backing in some capacity or another. Yeah maybe the Ire are making another play. Or they sold the knowledge and now someone else is trying to a similar play. That would be pretty cool, mostly because Forgery is a neat magic system.

Intricate fabrial mech-mimicry once Roshar invents the computer. Video game controls translate to fabrial movements in the real world. Game ends when one fabrial suit is no longer controllable in any significant way.

I know they're the hardest to export, but Sel has been neglected for too long. I want to know more. Note that at no point did I say that this was so much as a reasonable hope of mine, which is why I'm not actually defending it as much as saying it's a hope of mine.

I'm kind of hoping it's a new Selish variant.

I wonder how long it would take for them to get bored of the natural advantages and decide to slip sub-optimal moves into things to get a read on how their opponent thinks/reacts to moves like that.

I think another thing easy to forget here is the same reason Dalinar needed a hammer to help hammer out that latrine trench: Shardblade cuts are too smooth. All they'd be doing is slicing a straight line into it, potentially chipping the gemheart, and still have to find a way to efficiently remove that chunk of flesh from its channels. If they'd had lifting pulleys or fabrials or something that might be able to help, but that would take as long to set up as just carving straight through the flesh does.

Building off this, wouldn't it be funny if their body wasn't particular about how it consumed nutrients and it just broke down the infection for energy? Kind of like how metals don't technically need to be in an Allomancer's stomach to be burned.

I was assuming those were Hemalurgic constructs on someone's (either Kelsier and Spook, the Set, Paalm, or even the Southern Scadrians theoretically) attempts to understand what the limit of various alterations were and the map was a way to bury a method of getting back the location in case something catastrophic happened to the person who knew where it was with any exactness. I kind of like the Awakened thing better though.

Maybe the town doesn't trust the enchanted items, no matter how good of a job was just done saving them with it, so they want the people who make/sell the untrustworthy (maybe they think the items are cursed/curse their user?) items gone before anything in that vein can happen. Or maybe the folks just leave at night when everyone else is asleep.
