    Nalthians have a little bit more Investiture in their souls than most people do, and while anyone can theoretically Awaken if they get Breaths and know what to do, their innate Investiture doesn't work like that.

    I think the set date for E5 starting is the 15th. Definitely wait to make that choice until the Era 5 stuff settles how the guilds will change.

    That's how Sanderson writes them talking about the universe at large. Another side effect of him treating it as a translation.

    It's very possible that's just in-world identification for the Heralds, for the Desolation troops.

    I forgot one thing about my next era characters. Lance is coming in (post-Scadrial Thread stuff, and I'm rotating Eos out for a little while. She'll be back eventually, but I can't think of an actual use for her this Era.

    Secret explosive invention on the disadvantage side. If the magitech folks are used to having the upperhand, why would they explore beyond that tech level for their warfare? Then, when the no-magic side figures out explosives (timeline would be correct for them to have at least nitroglycerin and dynamite), maybe there's a particular material on this world that you can coat arrowheads in and then soak it in nitroglycerin for exploding arrows.

    The spren. Ishar made the Orders, but spren bonds and Surgebinding that mimicked the Honorblades existed before that, and they were sorted into the Orders, implying there wasn't much of a change beyond the Connection-wrangling Ishar did.

    When she was a child, we know she had made it as far as the Third, to get her Blade, and based on her reaction to Jasnah questioning her about having Plate, we can infer that she had probably made it at least to that Fourth Oath as well. It wouldn't be much of a surprise if she had capped it all with the Fifth, honestly. As to how, it has to do with the difference between Lightweaver Truths and the typical Oath progression. I think you could probably speedrun the Lightweaver bond if you're self-aware enough to recognize the truths you need to give up to your spren, but this WOB indicates there might be something funky with how young she was when she managed to manifest her bond. Could have something to do with whatever Unmade was messing around with her family potentially.

    All my characters are coming through to the next Era, and most will remain unchanged until the reversion (yeah I know, non-typical, but just trust me). Especially Deadspot. She's intended to be my new character for this Era.

    Hurricanes run out of force pretty quickly once they're not being fed by the ocean, so I doubt that.

    Which is an extreme weakening from the Alethi storms that kill people. Shinovar gets a mist. My only point was that highstorms weaken over the course of the continent.
