  1. Yeah I’ve gotten a few, was waiting to see if I could get any more. I’ll set a final deadline for tonight. Submit your memes by tonight, I’ll judge em tomorrow, and then we can get back into a more regular schedule.
  2. Yay! GG all. This was a fun game, despite me dying pretty early on. I am very glad that I was actually right about someone for once, I think this is the first game where I’ve discovered an Elim by myself, just by looking and analyzing posts. Not that it really means anything, since the Vil didn’t decide to exe whysper until long after that, but it’s a personal victory ok? Biggest regret this game was not getting to use the shop mechanic. I died with 6 spheres I belive. That would’ve been fun.

    AAAAAAAGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH

    Spoiler

    I hate absolutely everything

    Spoiler

    Picture this:

You’re exhausted after a long day. You can’t wait to just get in your bed and sleep. You start to get ready for bed by taking a shower. As you are in the shower, you feel comfortable and safe. A warm shower is a physical representation of the deepest parts of your comfort zone. You are in your most vulnerable state, in the most private location. Everything is calm, peaceful, and quiet.

Then, movement out of the corner of your eye. You turn and are instantly paralyzed in fear. Right there on the shower curtain, exactly at eye level, mere INCHES from your face, is a creature so horrible that it must’ve been intentionally created by some malicious being, for nature would never allow such a monstrosity to come into existence. A monstrosity with sharp, segmented legs, huge pincers of death, and a long, curved, wicked tail, raised to strike at its victim. And it’s running right at you.

You jump out of the shower as fast as possible to get away from the scorpion.

    THAT WAS ME

    I’m scarred for life

    Spoiler

It was RIGHT THERE. Exactly at EYE LEVEL.
I literally could’ve licked it, it was SO CLOSE.

    Spoiler

Took me ages to finally kill it, it sprinted up the shower curtain and on to the rod. I could get into detail about the epic battle that resulted, but honestly, I want to stop thinking about it.

    Spoiler

So yeah, that’s how my nights been going. How are y’all?

  4. Yay for having a recognizable playstyle =P Well yeah, but there’s not much of anything in this game at all. PMs are the one real function that we have. Gotta use em the best we can. Also, I just had a great idea for if this game is ever rerun. Don’t give the Elims a doc. They know who each other are, but they don’t have a doc. So they have to request PMs with each other. And use chain mail.
  5. Ello all. Archer is totally an Elim. Not a poke/joke vote, just the strongest gut read I’ve ever had. Wregueuardwing PMs, I think we should absolutely coordinate who we choose to PM. We want to make sure we use every PM we’ve been given, and we probably want them as evenly distributed as possible, so if one person dies, it doesn’t cut off too many channels of information. I don’t think we should do this for the ‘chain’ function, passing messages that way doesn’t make sense, but rather that we do it to make sure we have effecient PM distribution. I think making a PM with the person above you on the player list would be the easiest way to do this, but we can still get some coordination just by saying who you’re going to PM.
  6. It might just be another example of capital-c Connection. Connection is kinda strange, but if being a spearman is a huge part of Kal’s identity. Makes sense he would feel some amount of Connection.
  7. IDEA:

Ok, so, picture this. It’s the very end of a huge fantasy saga. The heroes and their armies are in the depths of the underworld, about to head into battle against hordes of demons and monsters. All the troops are lined up on both sides. Fire and brimstone surround them all.

Then the epic bad-a warrior character turns too look at the main character.
“Well. Here we are. We might not make out of here. But before we fall, there’s one thing we gotta do.” Then he turns and addresses the troops.
    “LET’S RAZE SOME HELL”

      @Frustration

Because today is Wednesday, literally, giving the realist part. But then you misspelled the word. I couldn’t tell if it was intentional or not, so I added the ish.

      That was not intentional.

I need more water, because unlike applesauce it does improve brain function.

  9. Seems plausible, but I like the Dawnshard explanation myself. I tried finding that WoB you mentioned. Didn't find it, but I did find this tangentially related one that is pretty interesting, This point still confuses me. He quite handily puts Kelsier on his rear in The Well. So he can harm someone if he's provoked? Or is it because he knows that regardless of what he does to Kelsier it won't actually harm him? And a lot of "harm" is in the mind. Even without a corporeal body, it would still register as pain, thus harm? And wouldn't it still be considered physical harm, if Hoid was there physically? Applying physical harm? Brandon Sanderson If you re-read that scene, Hoid himself is shocked he's able to do what he does there. Let's just say he himself doesn't quite understand the issue as much as he once assumed. ice_royale Can we assume he cannot harm a LIVING being, but Kelsier is at that point not a living being? Brandon Sanderson This is the conclusion Hoid came to, so it's a pretty solid assumption. Dawnshard Annotations Reddit Q&A (Nov. 9, 2020) Why would Hoid come to that conclusion?? Unless he genuinely has never tried to attack a cognitive shadow before??? That kinda hurts both the Dawnshard theories and this theory, Oh hey I found the one you wanted. That sounds to me like Brandon is just referring to the Cognitive Realm as a whole, considering that the question was talking about perception.

  14. Me reading through this thread: Here's my two cents. Is Navani a scholar? Absolutely. The discovery of Warlight alone is enough to classify her as such, even if you ignore everything else she's done. Is Navani worthy of bonding the Sibling? Well, I think that's kinda the whole point, isn't it? Her 'worthiness' is supposed to be debatable at this point, and you all have certainly proven that it is. Her arc has always been, from some perspective, about struggling to be 'worthy', this is the logical extension of that. Her entire arc has been about proving herself. She had to prove that she was capable of being a leader by herself after Gavilar died. She had to prove to Dalinar that their love was real and worth defying tradition for. She had to prove to herself and to Raboniel that she was a real scholar, despite her own admonitions that she wasn't. And now she has to prove herself worthy of bonding the Sibling. Is Navani a thematic fit for the Sibling? Absolutely. She is a leader, able to organize and unify people towards a common goal. Also, the unification of Stormlight and Voidlight into Warlight is a huge thematic parallel to the concept of unifying people. And finally, just one nitpick on one of Frustration's arguments. You keep saying that the powerset of a Bondsmith is so powerful that you wouldn't trust anyone with it that wasn't 100% capable. Well, the powers you kept pointing ut are really only the powers of an Unchained Bondsmith. Which means only Ishar. For both Dalinar and Navani, their powers are limited by both their Spren and their Oaths. If you act against the will of your spren, poof, no powers. If you act against the oaths you have sworn, poof, no powers. So while a normal Bondsmith is still insanely powerful, they aren't quite as powerful as you were saying.
  15. well, uh, if you'll look at the date of this thread you decided to revive....
  16. idk if telephone is the best idea, I just proposed it because then we have the maximum amount of PMs. Theoretically messages could be passed that way, but in a game with no roles, what actual info would there be to pass? I think we should definitely be sure to use 100% of our available PMs, and I guess we could do that by all saying who we're going to PM and organizing around that, but i think that will almost definitely get messed up. And then even if we use all of our PMs, it's almost certain that they won't be distributed evenly. So a few people might only have one PM and then one person has like 5. wait, alternate idea, we randomly choose one person, and then we all make our PMs with that person. Like a giant Hub. We wouldn't have max PMs this way, we'd lose one, but it could be pretty funny.
