  1. The next game’s signups are up? Yes, yes I will. TPBM’s favorite genre of music is Rock.
  2. Warning: LDS-related SU, might be confusing for non-members. =P

Just went to a friend’s mission call opening and there were SO MANY PEOPLE. It was kinda awesome, all packed into his backyard. I joked with some other friends that there was no way he could actually name every person there. And there was an interstake activity earlier tonight, so a ton of people were at the activity and the opening. Was fun to see so many people twice in one night XD

if you’re curious, he’s going to Columbia.

  3. That one was titled, "Wouldst Thou Like Quadratics?" Quite a good meme btw, it was very very close. Iirc only reason this one didn’t win is that it suffered in the originality category.
  4. A disheveled man wearing a suit that looks like it has been slept in walks out onto the center stage. He could use a shave. Welllllcome back folks to the incredibly professional, always on-time, and never delayed 17th Shard Meme Competition! I’m your host, Dannnnex! The man pauses for cheering but none comes. He continues as if it had. This round was certainly close, nearly a 3 way tie! However, our judges have made a final decision. The camera pans to a theater full of corpses. The audience has starved. It has been months. And now, the moment you’ve all been waiting for, the reveal of this weeks winning meme! The audience has no reaction. With a score of 34/40, this week’s winning meme is... Give them a round of applause! The audience refrains from applauding. How rude. Well, that’s all I have for you this week, tune in soon to find out what the theme for the next round is! The camera fades to black.

Just remembered something that I was gonna make an SU about and then forgot

About a week ago I fell asleep on my couch after school. Nice little nap. Kinda ended up in a weird position, was leaning on my arm weird. Some amount of time later, I woke up, and attempted to stand up. I couldn’t. It was really weird. Keep in mind, I’m still like, 80% asleep here. So I was just like “.....wasssistsss???” and kept trying to stand up. I could move, but not stand. Eventually I got more fully awake, (I say “eventually” because it felt like a long time, but in reality it was probably just a few seconds) and realized it was because I couldn’t move my arm. I had been trying to push myself up into a sitting position with my arm, and it had felt like it was happening, but then obviously it wasn’t. I managed to do a weird sit-up thing to get into a more normal position, but I still couldn’t move my arm. It was the weirdest experience. Mildly scary too. Maybe 40 seconds later it was like nothing had happened. Arm was completely fine. I never lost feeling in my arm, but I couldn’t move it. It was so weird.

It just means that when you slept you punched some of the major nerves in your arm. Some nerves are predominantly control, while others are feeling. You pinched the control nerves, but not the feeling. That is pretty much carpal tunnel syndrome, except short term and it gets better.

      Science!

  6. Hmmmmm this looks familiar... A stick is a stick.
  7. Oh right I wish that people in this thread would stop having the bane absolutely be related to the boon. That’s not really how the NW works. She isn’t an evil genie who gives a side effect that makes the boon impossible to use, she gives you what you wish for, and just gives you a bane of proportional size.
  8. Granted. Once people figured this out, they stopped giving you rep, and eventually the mods banned you for somehow hacking the rep system. Your bane is that your left foot now falls asleep very quickly.
  9. this is canon every time I leave and don't do my job the jeopardy music just plays on loop forever (also sorry, but in all fairness monday was my birthday, and tuesday my internet was broke, so I have a valid excuse this time =P)
  10. Do you ever just get like, really really sad for literally no reason at all? It’s literally my storming birthday, why am I sad? I’ve had a great day, there is nothing at all to be sad about. It’s like, one second you’re having a great day, and then boom, suddenly smothered in a blanket of melancholy.

    idk maybe I’m just hungry

I have a personal theory that life sucks after being happy because the happiness is over. At least, that's how things go for me, anyways.

  11. I recently came up with a solution that might kinda fix the entire inactivity problem, but it’s almost definitely too involved to actually happen. it’s a sorta “activity economy”. Every player starts with an activity score of 10. (Or 20 or 100 or anything really. Really only matters that we all start at the same number.) The more active you are, the score goes up, and the less active you are, the score goes down. Every single game has the potential to alter your score by 1, up or down. The way it’s measured is that the GM sets a “post count par” for their games. The number is not shared with the players. If their final post count at the end of the game exceeds par, they get +1 point, if it’s less, -1. (Par would be adjusted by cycle too, to account for when a player is eliminated. Like, C1 might have a par of 5, and C2 might have a par of 10. Whenever you were killed is the par number you must match.) Then the way the system actually helps inactivity is that when GMs are putting up their signup threads, they could set a required Activity Score that you must have in order to sign up. So games that are designed to be more intense and more discussion heavy can be limited to the people we know are going to discuss more. I don’t know if I really like this solution, it does kinda feel...dictatorial. And just kinda mean. But it is a solution. Not that it matters, it’s much too complicated of a system to actually be implemented. But it’s interesting to think about theoretically.
  12. Birthday pfp les goooooooooooooooo

  13. Haha yes I absolutely did not forget about this again that would never happen for I am a professional running a very professional profession...professionally. I’ll have the results up later today, for real this time =P

  16. I wouldn’t call that Confibias, just considering all the possibilities. I think confibias is a bit more extreme than that. More of a reach. This scenario is fairly possible, it would be trivially easy for an Elim to try this. Yeah, it’s when the Elim team exes one of their own in order to make them seem more village. Comes from the expression “throw them under the bus”. A similar term you should know is a WGG, Wounded Gazelle Gambit. It’s like the inverse of a bus. The Elim team attacks one of their own members during the night, someone who has some sort of protection. So that person survives the attack, and then they have pretty massive Vil cred for being attacked.
