  1. I need ideas for what to name my Seamoth in Submautica. For those that haven’t played the game, a Seamoth is a one person mini submarine used for deep sea exploration. Puns are preferred. I have a 14 character limit.

      Smeemoth?  Seamountarch?

  2. Same, I always sorta imagined him like Cap in Infinity War. All rugged and with a beard and stuff. Still, it doesn’t look bad by any means.
  3. Wow this is most unexpected “a surprise to be sure, but a welcome one.”
  4. Story Concept: Man is stuck in time loop, doesn’t realize it.

@Chinkoln yeah I realized that after I posted this, but my original idea was that he’s been stuck in this time loop for years and somehow never realizes it. He eventually dies, never knowing that he was just reliving the same day over and over.

I think it could either be a really sad story or a really satirical story.

Does the time loop ever change? If so, what is the cause of the change?

    4. dannnex

Nope, no changes other than maybe tiny changes that he himself causes. He just lives such a boring and monotonous life that he can’t tell he got stuck in a time loop since every day was basically the same anyway.

  5. Elims with no kill action? Interesting. I’ll play.
  6. Is this backwards? It seems backwards. I’ll join! Never played before but it seems simple enough. Reminds me of the game Balderdash.
  7. I wasn’t going to sign up for this game. The setting didn’t seem all that interesting, the boxing gimmick seemed a bit weird, and a very brief skim of the rules revealed nothing that immediately caught my attention. But upon a reread, I noticed two things that have changed my mind. 1. There are wayyyy more roles than there will be players, so a ton of roles will be left out. That’s interesting. And 2. There are secrets. Secrets are usually fun. Conclusion, I’ll join. No character since this setting doesn’t really click with me.
  8. So I just rewatched A Quiet Place to prepare for the sequel, and I realized that, in the Quiet Place universe, farting has become a leading cause of death. Thank you for coming to my TedTalk.

Was this SU in good taste? No, absolutely not. Do I regret making it? Only time will tell.

I've heard it's really good. I still haven't gotten around to actually watching it, though...  In part because when it came out all my friends went and watched it without me, so...

  10. Time for another Thought Provoking Question With Dannex™️.

What is the one word you’d want people to say when attempting to describe you? One singular adjective that you’d hope other people would describe you as.

Also, do me a favor and spoiler your answers, and then don’t look at anyone else’s answers before you choose yours.

I've about 60% settled on "nerdy." I'm not completely satisfied, but it's extremely difficult, if not impossible, to boil someone- including yourself- down to one adjective.

      Nerdy is a good one.

      I approve.

Also I half steal it but I also half stick with my "I have no idea."

  11. It’s actually a nod to something to do with the WoT fandom, not anything to do with kingkiller.
  12. I’m pretty sure that even books that are out of spoiler period have to be spoilered in topics that aren’t related to that book. During the spoiler period they can’t be talked about at all in other threads, and afterwards they can be talked about, as long as they have a spoiler. That’s how I’ve understood it at least. Like, you’ll still see people spoilering Mistborn things in the SA threads.

@Channelknight Fadran YOU LISTENED TO HADESTOWN. *SCREAMING* What'd'ya think???

Ahhhh, the balance between freedom and security...

The endless question of human rights...

      And other stuff.

If I could only have one and not the other I wouldn't want either.

Neither one is worth having without at least some of the other.

Generally I do tend to lean more towards safety, though. But communism bad.

    4. Frustration

      Frustration

I heard a quote from Ben Franklin along the lines of, "The man who will trade freedom for safety will find neither."

I have another one from Patrick Henery "Give me Liberty or Give me Death."

There is also one from Tolkien that I used to have a problem with but now sums up my feelings perfectly

       https://www.google.com/search?q=tolkien+anarchy+quote&rlz=1CADTIH_enUS940&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwi67JSXn9fwAhVBIjQIHeSgARsQ_AUoAXoECAEQAw&ssui=on&safe=active#imgrc=4bGZUUV4DhcyjM

Let's just say I take liberty to it's fullest, so long as no one else is directly affected, and I mean either hurt or their property is harmed, no one can tell you what to do.

  14. I think anonymous messages shouldn’t count as an action. With a ruleset like this where’s there’s so many actions anyone can take, there was almost always a more useful choice. I didn’t send a single message the entire game. I actually think this ruleset was almost perfectly balanced. It’s very RNG influenced, but I think that’s a good thing, as most of the RNG only comes into play when a player chooses to take a risk. You have to do a lot of risk-taking, weighing pros and cons, and that’s a very good basis for a ruleset imo. Regarding Danforth, I actually really liked that he slowly gets mechanically revealed as the game goes on. It makes him a sorta time-bomb for the elims. They have to make use of his ability as much as possible before he gets revealed. It’s like a race against RNG. I think we should run this game again, almost exactly the same. Then if the same problems come up, we change things. This ruleset has potential to be a heavily rerun game imo, but I think we’d need more data before we start changing major things. But if this ruleset became a sorta “standard” for LGs, I wouldn’t be surprised.
  15. Why do I always get struck with inspiration to write at times that I can’t.

    It’s rather annoying.

Instead I have to do an entire semester’s worth of essays.

    Bother.

Pstpstscrpt: I just wrote this and turned it in. I am a genius.

      Spoiler
      Quote

Black is the prompt, blue is me. We only had to write an introduction paragraph and then add the evidence we would use, were we to write the whole essay.

Contemporary life is marked by controversy. Choose a controversial local, national, or global issue with which you are familiar. Then, using appropriate evidence, write an essay that carefully considers the opposing positions on this controversy and proposes a solution or compromise.

The Star Wars saga is notorious for sparking numerous different conflicts and controversies between its fans. The most notorious of which is the issue of whether or not the prequels are good movies and are worth watching. The prequel-haters argue that they are horrible due to shoddy dialogue, bad plots, and the fact that they retcon a lot of things that fans love in the original trilogy. The solution to this conflict is for the prequel-hating fans to acknowledge that the prequels can be considered good of looked at in a certain light. The Star Wars prequels can be considered good movies because they have amazing fight scenes, the acting is good considering what the actors had to work with, and the characters evolve in convincing ways.

      Evidence:

-The emotion the actors manage to convey despite having horrible dialogue to work with.

-The evolution of the character of Anakin Skywalker.

      -Ewan McGregor.

  16. First of all, GG elims. Very well played, but bad rng was your downfall. =P Second of all, I’m reading through the elim doc and uhh I would very much like some context for this XD
