  1. Don’t know if it’s enough to win, but we’ve seen hammers crack plate. Coins pushed at plate will wear it down. In metal heavy environment kel could run him out of stormlight. That said kals flying is more versatile and I don’t see him giving kel a chance. Night and day is relevant as well, afaik radiants don’t have enhanced eyesight so Kelsier could see Kaladin from far away while the same is not true. I think in elendel at night, era one Kelsier wins the majority mists or no. Basically any other situation tho Kaladin wins mid to low dif
  2. This. I have been having trouble defining my problem with the book in my head but this sums it up perfectly. I love crossovers, I love seeing other systems and magics represented, but the way they were presented in this book felt like I was reading the mfing coppermind. It is important to note that this is really BS' first book writing a full crossover type story. He will absolutely get better at it as time progresses.
  3. This has sorta already been proposed above but not exactly: I believe that the men of gold and red are something akin to Kalad’s phantoms. Half alive creatures made of metal who are extremely hard to kill and need little-to-no upkeep. I think it’s also likely that aside from assault rifles they also possess some sort of investiture based destructive power. basically an army of terminators.
  4. She rode to that other city it bears noting. Maybe she keeps most her stamps in elendel and only brought those she could easily hide on her person.
  5. Thank you thank you
  6. If I was going to go explore realms with magic I didn’t understand, I wouldn’t mind having my bones be made of the one thing magic can’t affect.
  7. Wob says a magic system we haven’t seen before. So I suppose it could be like cohesion, or the dustbringer power. But I’m guessing he wouldn’t say that if it’s surgebinding.
  8. So we have a wob that a new magic system will debut in tLM, and the back of the book released by tor says off worlders recruit Marasi. Who do you think they are? Are they the new magic system or will it be from the Set? my bet is: marasi is contacted by agents of my boy Kelsier. And that one or more of them will be ghostbloods from other worlds. As for what magic will be new? I suspect this book will have our first canon showing of the Aethers. I think it makes sense given the secret projects and how much he has been talking about them recently.
  9. I would like to preface this by stating that controlling the mind of a being in the cosmere is no small feat. It would appear that one must have a damaged spirit web for it to occur. We see, afaik, two instances of "mind control" and frankly it's more like 1.5. The obvious one is the kollos, kandra, and other hemalurgic constructs. It would appear that either with enough investiture: Trell, Ruin, or Specialized Powers: allomancers, that these beings can be controlled nearly completely. There are also the lifeless. Who are controlled completely by seemingly non-powered individuals. It is possible that most awakened objects may also fall here, but lifeless are more sentient. Now, my theory revolves around a large dose of speculation. Shards are forbidden or in some way restricted from controlling the minds of non-broken-spiritweb folks. And that given the huge difference in power between Ruin and Mistborn, that a powered up soother/rioter/mistborn could control the minds of normal people. How? A combination of powers. Allomancy: the only power we know of that can directly affect the minds of targets. (Except maybe aviar right?) Feruchemy: duralumin feruchemy is necessary for this theory because I believe that it could strengthen the Connection to the mind of the allomancers target. The 8th heightning: which allows awakeners to break the commands of others. Which I propose would help break the Investiture-mind control-barrier in non- spiked people. What do yall think? could this combination of powers allow for mind control? Would you add any abilities? Is there some easier way I have missed?
  10. A-bendalloy. Freeze time would so useful in every day life and in combat scenarios. Wbu?
  11. Re-reading RoW and in chapter two Kaladin comments how Syl isn’t human or Vorin and doesn’t cover her safe hand. But given how awkward Shallan is about her hand on various escapades, it is fair to assume Kaladin sees Syl as at least a little naked at all times. I go back and forth on shipping Syladin but it’s kinda funny to think about how Kal just has this half naked fairy friend with him at all times. Especially because she seems to like him romantically, as in the same scene she talks about changing her dress for Kaladin with Adolins advice. thx for coming to my Ted talk
  12. There also could be multiple groups of Irali that all think they are at different stages of the 6 world religion
  13. I think it could be as a simple as there are magical beings that come from Ado and those who are separate. The Aethers and shades are part of a “fae” like magical family and are completely separate from Ado. So they each have different weaknesses. Be cool to see a Witcher type character with one silver sword and one aluminum one.
  14. I tend to think that life sense is just a passive ability you get when you become more invested. I think a-copper would be more powerful just by nature of it being an invested art and not something innately attached to investiture gain
  15. War makes countries rich. And speeds up their technological development.
  16. Brandon said once that the Aethers thought of themselves as equivalent to shards or gods. Safe bet that each moon is an Aether. Or like an amalgamation of that type of Aether.
  17. I bet 4 has something to do with invention. You can see chimneys in the background, and it looks kinda dystopian industrial esk. #3 is anyone’s guess, but I would bet it is set on Sel. #2 is clearly non-cosmere, and maybe apoc guard #1 could be obrodai. Not likely First of the Sun because we have a sequel for that already announced. My guess would be it’s the world mentioned in the Arcanum of Rhythm of War where Khriss mentions Foil who studies servers.
  18. Could be like the elves in Lord of the Rings. Like once those CS people have lived among mortals for x amount of years they travel to "Heaven" which is now Hell.
  19. Does anyone have any theories or even just cool ideas on what the unit investiture will be measured with in the future of the cosmere? I’m thinking along the lines of: a breath has x ___’s of investiture on average.
  20. Kal is tall for a Rosharan. But yes maybe you are right and one would need to change their height more than a few inches, it does not really matter to the theory becuase we do not know the upper-bound of Breath related shapeshifting. No one called Azure short.
  21. I was just reading through the newest wobs and BS mentioned that Hoid has a magical way of not appearing short among the Rosharans. The most obvious way to do this would be lightweaving, but that does not seem cost effcient just for the sake of appearing taller. It is worth noting that it would have to be Yolish lightweaving as in WoK he does not have access to his spren yet, and is still not described as short. So, I propose one of two options: the first and most interesting imo is that when one collects enough breaths from Nathis, lets say for sake of reference the amount equivalent to a mega breath the returned posses, said individual can change their features in a simular vein to Vivienna or Siri. This means that you could make yourself appear a few inches taller, and slightly change features and what not. The only other thing I could think of was perhaps Hoid has some serious Connection based power, that allows him to actually look more Rosharan. The only other evidence for that I have would be the Feruchemists seen throughout RoW and the flashbacks, not being described as short and Shin-eyed. I beleive they both have access to Connection from Feruchemy. Let me know if I am missing any relevant information. And let me know whether you think Breath can be used to change your appearance.
  22. See I could go for more well done romance in the cosmere and fantasy in general. I feel like a lot of the time authors right it off as “it’s the end of the world, my characters are focused on bigger things.” But come on you’re telling me if the world is ending people are going to be trying to get some
  23. I suspect that you're right about the ritual thing to an extent. My thought is Nahz and the og threnodites could turn themselves into CS to travel the cosmere, and that there was many of the CS people just living among the normal people. Once the Evil came it currupted the Investitutre and turned all the normal freindly ghost peeps into shades. That could be why Silence's grandma won't attack her, because they retain a smigin of control still.
  24. 1. The Set is too powerful. Perhaps that avatar makes it too difficult for Kel and his agents to get close to the main members of the set for some good old assassination. 2. They are unaware of the Set. Less likely in my opinion, because there is only one perpendicularity and my guess is the GBs keep a close watch on it. Also my guess would be that the GBs have a large hand in Scadriels current governments and behind the scenes actions. 3. The GB’s put in charge of Scadrial by Kelsier have turned coat and are now members of the Set. Kelsier either doesn’t know yet or hasn’t made his move yet. what other reasons can y’all think off?
